The solution Dixel published about the key-logger and uBlock (and then quickly deleted it after your reply) isn't working anymore . It worked , yeah . But not anymore after I updated the ublock . Don't get me wrong , I had to because of the new twitter CEO of Indian origin. Could you please offer us a simple solution to block the logger with ublock ? Thank you !

Yes , some (not all , and only from 2005-2013) hardware was of better quality , for sure . I still use a 15 years old audiocard.

Thank you . Unfortunately , no , still not shown . I see there's original Vista USBSTOR.SYS driver in the system32/drivers folder . Everything is intact. What I meant is to diagnose the USB connections , not the disk itself. Everything works fine though . Safe eject powers down the HDD and the device . Can copy files etc. The only problem , can't read SMART. Do I have to reinstall the whole system ? Jeez ... And for some reason , I can't multiquote ...

Well , I only use standard drivers , I did not install any USB drivers at all. Everything is at Vista's defaults . When I plugged a USB HDD enclosure in , it said "installing driver, done" . When I plugged another HDD enclosure , it installed a driver again . I have two variants of enclosures with 2 different chips . One is with ASM and another with Philips. DriveCleanup tool reported 25 deleted USB drivers , some of them were used for USB flash drives. Yes, strange indeed ! No problems with SATA external enclosures , only USB are glitchy . I can live without the USB SMART , I need the temps though. Is there a way to diagnose ? I remembered , I installed the audio driver recently , the one that you helped me to find . That's it . But everything was fine for several weeks and then boom ! No SMART, no temps . At first I thought the enclosure gone kaput. But it works on another PC. Thank you, very helpful as usual !

jaclaz , hello . Could you know why the PRO version won't show the USB HDD temps anymore ? All of a sudden , it was working just fine the day before. It won't show the SMART values as well. What I tried , I deleted all USB drivers (cleaned them with) DriveCleanup V0.7.0 . Freeware by Uwe Sieber - www.uwe-sieber.de . Rebooted . But it didn't help at all. The tool is good though ! Also, it says : "status of the hard disk is unknown. The configuration does not provide further disk status information. However, "Disk" menu "Surface Test" function can examine the disk functionality, reveal and fix possible problems." Their supported told me that my external HDD box "is not capable of provoding the info" . Yet like I said , it did just the day before . Could this mean my USB ports are damaged ? The disk itself works fine and I tried several different ones , all the same . Thanks !

Yet win7's picture (visual) quality is like if someone spilled a bottle of milk over one's monitor . It is NOT sharp . It's blurry . Yet I can work with Vista for over than 12 hours no prob. Why win7 is evil for us ? LOL. Besides, it's a huge piece of spyware , logging every move . You like win7 ? Fine , we don't.

I feel you man !!! Windows 7 is the worst nightmare and you're absolutely right : NO way to turn it off on win7 !!! Yet you're mistaken about Vista . It can be switched OFF completely ! Do not consider yourself somewhat special though , I too can see the bloody dancing pixels. I think most folks won't notice because of their junk monitors though. Windows 7 is pure evil. Here's the proof with AA on and OFF on Vista . And here's my upvote for ya , of course.

For revoked Certificate Update "rvkroots.exe" Microsoft download (http://www.microsoft.com/download/details.aspx?id=41542), unzip to a folder (e.g. with WinRAR). In "rvkroots.inf" the entry in the string VERSION should be changed to "5,0,2195,0" and the VER entry changed to "005". The next step is download the "http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/disallowedcert.sst" and paste the unzipped folder and replace older file. Then with e.g. (Create Self-Extracting Archive) WinRAR all files in the folder to an archive option SFX with the following comment: TempMode Silent=1 Overwrite=1 Setup=Rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection rvkroots.inf,DefaultInstall pack and you have a current update for blocking unsafe Certificates!
