ACER Aspire 1690... true it's for WinXP, but i decide install the Win98... and, like you see, the problem is the Wireless(only)... the rest works fine... but no network

Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG 3B Network Connection don't have drivers for windows 98.. see previous pages\posts... but i have read some posts that can exist.. but i don't find it... that's why i buyed another card: Atheros AR5004G for get the drivers for windows 98 saying these: my final objective is getting Wireless\internet on windows 98

it was on system32\drivers... so i copy it to system... and reboot the laptop on Device Manager, now say the company name on Device details(like the image) but my network isn't on list and the 'Atheros Client Utility' program tell me the 'Wireless Mode' is '????' like almost everything... but my hotspot isn't detected "I'm late to the thread so apologies if you have already tried this -- go into your router's wi-fi config and verify you have it in the correct mode (a, b, g, n, b/g only, mixed)." now i found it: Definitions - Mode 802.11' is '802.11 b/g/n' i must change it to 'b/g'?

is that file, the problem?

i'm confused: if the driver is installed correctly, why i don't get my hotspot?

how can i get that mini adapter or hostpot information? on my win98 laptop, i installed the Atheros Client Utility, and i can't get information, just '...' on my networks list driver, on my win98 laptop, the wireles is: 'Atheros Wireless Network Adapter' i think i know what information you need, but i don't know get it... sorry

the problem is the '2'... on 'Avaible Networks - Acess Point Networks' the list is empty

the mini card adapter is(on chip): Atheros AR5213A-00 A21618C 5204 china "what EXACTLY "hotspot" and which setiings is used?" my hotspot was detected, on Windows 2000, with other mini card. honestly here i don't know what to say.... it's the defauld. "try set hotspot to GUEST mode without password." even i try without a pass, why isn't on odessy program, on wireless list? i'm confused.. but maybe it's the drivers that are wrong.. they are installed... the button for turn on\off the wireless is allways orange... here i even don't know if is on\off

is a driver problem?

finally i get the CDROM and USB(and the external USB floppy drive) working from here: https://www.classic-computers.org.nz/blog/2018-02-05-USB-in-MS-DOS-and-Win98.htm i see 2 problems: 1 - i must plug the drives, before turn on the computer; 2 - i can't change the pen or other device.... i must turn off and plug them ... how can i fix these problems?

using the autoexec.bat and config.sys, how can i separe the commands: some for others and others for MS-DOS? how can i use the return key(for i don't press on boot(yes the USB DOS drivers: https://www.classic-computers.org.nz/blog/2018-02-05-USB-in-MS-DOS-and-Win98.htm ask for press the return key)?

i installed the drivers with that mini card.... with Odyssey i can select the wireless card... but i don't have my hotspot on list... or i miss something

So try fix the config.sys and autoexecute.bat. I'm trying do the things that i didn't learned

maybe my autoexecute.bat and config.sys are incompleted

next step: how can i get the drives(D: and A: and others)?
