360 Extreme Explorer Modified Version
msfntor replied to Humming Owl's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
@ArcticFoxie, with faked user-agent - some websites can't access the page content... so you did well to remove it from 360Loader.ini of your builds. For test this, is good to have red warnig of old browser (so you don't have faked user-agent for 93 version of Chrome...) here in etsy.com: https://www.etsy.com/ I downloaded the version 11 (Updated 25/09/21) build by @Humming Owl (in my Windows XP SP2) - no problems! All my 6 extensions downloaded, no major difference with version 12 or 13...maybe a bit faster (11 M: Page loaded in 554 ms, 12 M: in 585 ms, 13 M: in 647 ms (as my best results in this Raymond Hill tiles test: http://raymondhill.net/ublock/tiles1.html ). On test.webrtc.org this same popup to make choice...if click block or stop button, have another (360Chrome this one) popup, which says: problem - and must close. Hopefully @Humming Owl's fix will come soon, in the next version...- 2,321 replies

On this webrtc test page: https://test.webrtc.org/ - in 360Chrome 12 12247 r 7 build - have chinese text in the yellow popup for some seconds at the top of the page, then it disappears by itself, and I've blocked connection to 74.125.247.128 - owned by Google... ... then no test results (all are with red stop mark). - in 12 1592 M (precedent) build - and today's new 360EE 12 1592 M without any extensions - have little test.webrtc.org popup window, which "wants to use your microphone", but if I click on Block or stop mark, another little window says: "360Chrome has encountered a problem and must close...".- 2,321 replies

Personally I would prefer to have Chrome Web Store button before all, and google cookie if it must be here... ----------------- Found ESENT now (before I must have been tired...), under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ESENT - with two subkeys: Global and Process. Under Process subkey, have 360Chrome subkey, like XPerceniol wrote in the precedent post, and many browsers and other software from the present and the past, with DEBUG subkey always - so it's for debugging, apparently. Legit.

Yes, it's possible, but here, between my script defense (ScriptBlock) and my deny to google in uBlock, and my other defenses, I'm a bit bored to make all these clicks, to get the search results in the crx4chrome.com page...which lead to the cse.google search results page... google google everywhere... It's much easier to find the extensions in Chrome Web Store. And to make it easier, there is a link at the bottom of the extensions list page in the browser. In addition there are comments (must read) on each extension in the Chrome Web Store ... Personally I think, that deny Chrome Web Store download button is a bad idea, sorry... Why then your reticence towards Chrome Web Store?

After restarting Windows today, I did 360Chrome search in the Registry: first found under HKCU MUICache 12 keys, then: under HKLM ESENT, then: HKU MUICache 12 keys. With 360Chrome build started,I got too, in the first place of research: HKCU\SOFTWARE\360Chrome key. After closing 360Chrome build, NO MORE HKCU\SOFTWARE\360Chrome key. - this is the new behavior of my Registry today... (found on the web: "Extensible Storage Engine (ESENT), the transacted database system that stores all Active Directory objects".)

Yes, I also experienced the joys of GreenBrowser, it was a long time ago... it was an excellent and innovative browser! But now my screen has gone green, greenish... it's my monitor that is sick again! - well, I'll remove this second popup blocker, just to make you happy, haha- 2,321 replies

Thanks @ArcticFoxie, your suggestions allowed me to change my thoughts on the subject. Here is the new list of my 360Chrome extensions: uBlock O., Canvas Blocker, Neat URL, Popup Blocker (strict), Better PopUp Blocker 2, ScriptBlock, and one more gem for security...This list can change at any time... I've always this same page "Just a moment..." on armaanpc.com after deleting faked User Agent (with the space..) in 360Loader.ini in build 12 1247 r 5 ...and this same popups, many of these popups from Canvas Blocker: "Possible attempt to fingerprint from "Just a moment..." is blocked." Infinite popups, never seen! And no page content of armaanpc... I've restarted the browser to get rid of these countless popups. 360Chrome latest 12 1247 r 5 and 13 2206 r 4 from @ArcticFoxie and 13 2250 M from Humming Owl: After creating each new tab, have popup from Popup Blocker (Lite): "Popup is NOT closed! reason: tab URL is not valid" If click Property (of page), I see Address: chrome://newtab/ - that I've in Settings/Basics: under notched: "Open a specific page or set of pages:" - and this same popup if I change Address here to about:blank ... Does NOT have this problem in 12 1592 M from Humming Owl.- 2,321 replies

I have this problem in 360Chrome 12 and 13 builds (but works good in 12 1592 M only): https://search.norton.com/ - it acts as not doing the search - search results page disappears instantly because of my Popup Blocker (Lite) extension, which closes it, displaying the popup: "popup is closed! ...Tab URL: about:blank" - so it doesn't know that it closed my search results page... Result: I still have my blank search page... Google, Swisscows and other search engines work without problems. Link for this Popup Blocker (Lite) extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/popup-blocker-lite/flkpkonhokophabdnmggfbdlbdknebel?hl=en-US (- no possibility in Options to add any website in "List of all whitelisted domains") ----------- The other problem: in Settings/Advanced: the possibility "Join user experience plan to help us improve our products" checks itself, it seems, in different builds...- 2,321 replies

For my page speed tests, I don't need Page Speed Monitor anymore, because I'm starting to take speed measurements again thanks to Raymond Hill, and his beatiful page: http://raymondhill.net/ublock/tiles1.html (deny in uBlock: prism-break.org and forums.somethingawful.com ...) So I've "Page loaded in ... ms" window at the bottom. My max results in my 360Chrome 12 and 13 builds after some restarts of this tiles1 page (with 7 must-have extensions running + memory optimization + cache cleaning): between 492 and 608 ms (average 650 to 750 ms). - in all these builds get red generic cosmetic filtering: <div> not removed , cause I've unnotched "Parse and enforce cosmetic filters" in uBlock.- 2,321 replies
