  1. That's because nothing works on vista no more. apart from amazing work done by win32. so lemme repeat how do YOU play games on windows vista? CS:GO,League of legends, Valorant, Rocket League, Minecraft (yeah minecraft works with weird launchers and modified java), it takes two, Beamng.Drive and many others that work on windows 7? BTW windows 7 and 8 still gets security updates from nvidia. So windows 7 and 8.1 can run any game that runs on dx 11. (Sometimes windows 8.1 can open a game that 7 can't because of dx 11.2, and sometime windows 7 opens game that 8.1 can't d3d12on7)
  2. Dear MSFN troll. I don’t. I only play rdr2 which uses vulkan anyways. Gta V, rocket league, cs:go, valorant, minecraft, LOL. I used to play cyberpunk 2077 on windows 7 and yeah that worked. Anyways there is vulkan translation layer, but it is better to just dual boot with 10. I can at least play modern online games. Once they stop working I just move to 10. Any more questions? No one is forcing windows 7/8/10/11 on you so why you keep mocking them? For run? Enjoy it then. Oh and explain how I can play the games above on vista. Thank you
  3. Soooo.. I OWN i7-7700k and I can confirm, that it works without any issue on windows 7. even ryzen 5 3600 works with all drivers being recognized and installed. Ryzen 5000 series is something I have not yet experienced on windows 7, but I can only imagine that it works too. I can ofc share some proof that 7700k works on windows 7, but again it is "just" skylake+ so why wouldn't it? Someone here is just salty that windows 7 has no issues running new gen hardware unlike vista
  4. Simply I don't That's the only way known by me how to play rocket league. It does not work on mac or on linux (Wine or proton makes the game stutter on nvidia gpus). it simply requires modern operating system or kernel mod not yet implemented by win32.
  5. Since you quoted me, I no longer use Windows Vista, so I'm sorry, I can't help. By the way, I don't want to interact with you so please respect that. Thank you. I'm always in good mood, but you have to respect that I don't want to be quoted by you or talk to you. Thank you. (I do remember that rocket league is unplayable because of epic online services on vista due to missing kernel32.dll functions even with extended kernel, but that was way back). On windows 7 of course it is plug and play, just hit install and play.
  6. Oh my, I have over 2 000 power on count ony my 5 year old wd blue. Sorry for going off topic, but very cool.
  7. You don't restart your pc?
  8. I have to say that I do work at unnamed company located in czech republic and we have around 120 computers running windows 7 enterprise with valid ESU license. So yeah.. I've clearly never been to business environment. They will be online even after the end of ESU, but we applied strict rules and we have firewall and antivirus in place as well VPN. We also have windows 10 computers ofc but they are being replaced with MacBooks mostly. oh and btw firefox ESR is the browser we use back here. Guess someone in this forum will call Czechia as Eastern europe then.
  9. Windows 7 is by no means Abandonware. Still widely supported by hardware ranging up until rtx 3090. Windows 8.1 runs officialy chrome 109 release in 2022. Security updates (again official) up until january 2023. With an up to date antivirus (which it supports unlike xp and vista) without any kernel extension making it very alive os. Both of the operating systems can still be used without much of any problems. why would site like msfn flag these as out of date and legacy software when they are used by many people and business. I will give few examples: VMware workstation 17 still supports windows 8.1,Steam still supports both windows 7 and 8.1,Discord still supports both Windows 7 and 8.,teamviewer,glasswire,rufus,firefox,vlc,virtualbox,blender etc etc regularly updates their software on them. Windows vista lives because of extended kernel and the fact that these programs still supports windows 7 I only respond to anyone but D.Draker
  10. oh man thanks for info <3
  11. My 32gb ram main computer? I don't think that is the issue.
  12. On windows 8.1, the chrome 110.0.5425 opens and immediately closes, but no error messages, nothing.
  13. if mozilla really does this, it will mark their end. Seriously, they learned their lesson when ending support for xp and vista
  14. So I can expect everything to “just work”?
  15. Hi, I use windows 8.1 as my main operating system. I really rely on it (Don't even have access to windows 10 apart from vms). Considering that the EOS is near I thought of reinstalling my computer to server 2012 r2, but can anyone give me real experience? Can you really transform it to workstation so nobody would be able to tell that you're using server 2012 insted of 8.1? Thank you. My computer specs (Is anything really not compatible?)
  16. Hi, I wanted to run some very old program, so I setup virtual machine on vmware workstation 16 with the host being windows 8.1 unfortunately my windows 98 SE and Windows ME both are giving very weird kernel32 issues. I heard that it can me cpu related. Windows 98 does not boot, windows me boots to desktop albeit very broken one. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks
  17. and this should be beneficial?
  18. It is present in 5290 too
  19. if google drops windows 7 and 8 it will affect vista extended kernel project
  20. have you manually installed chipset driver?
  21. Could someone please explain this? Is google ditching nt 6.x? No, I didn't use useragent spoofer or anything https://prnt.sc/Ih8E_sfZSFLP
  22. I have 0 idea why whould anyone do that.. Don't take me like I'm trashing on vista/7 or being rude, but if you basically port windows 7 to vista what's the point? The feeling that you're using patched vista files yet looking and working like windows 7?
  23. you mean some sort of ransomware?
  24. Minecraft uses opengl not direct x and it works on 8/8.1/10. Like I said I gave up it was too much hassle
