I can only think of one wireless client with WPA2 that works with Windows 2000, which is Odyssey Client, version 3.1 began to include WPA2 and ver. 4.52 was the last version to support Windows 98SE/ME. The company's official page for the client seems dead and hasn't worked properly for years. Googling it, it seems like the client disappeared almost like the Windows 98 Unattended disc. After searching hours and hours, you can find it on sites (You're on your own for this one, I discourage piracy).

Working PCI-Cards w/ WPA2: HiRO H50069 (RTL8185) (PCI Wireless Card) D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G card *Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter (Wireless Card, unsure if this includes a wireless utility) Mini-PCI Cards: *Broadcom BCM4309 (Requires custom driver) Realtek RTL8180L *Known to cause boot failures. This is likely related to the fact the card itself was originally meant for Windows 2000 and later. To fix the problem, resources may need to be modified. USB Adapters: Sagem XG-760N (Drivers + Utility!) Sagem XG-760A NetGear WG111v2 (Use driver version 4.0.0! Click here for drivers! Beware, reported to cause windows to freeze!) I had to use system restore for the third time because the usb ports won't being recognized at all...no drivers were changed. My Windows ME laptop can recognize flash drives just fine, what the heck Microsoft? You can't design your own latest operating system to use basic usb technology properly, over time, that was introduced over 16 years ago?

Linksys wpc54g driver in Windows ME?

But still, thank you for providing me that wireless utility! Something is better than nothing, right? I'm gonna give up on ThinkVantage Access Connections, I did say the full message. If you google it for Windows 2000, you will find it I tried Boingo Wireless, and that only seems to support WEP -

I'll be waiting, hopefully it will work (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ I'm gonna be testing ThinkVantage Access Connections for Windows 2000, it supports Broadcom cards...I tested it with KernelEx (Dumb idea I know) and it says a Resource dll is missing. Reinstall application to avoid this problem. After restart I get "The ACHELPER.DLL is linked ro missing export ADVAPI32.DLL:RegOpenCurrentUser" -

My internal wireless card isn't supported on Windows 9x, but even if I used one that's compatible the card still can't do WPA2 On my disc the file is at least 200kb -
Linksys wpc54g driver in Windows ME?
FantasyAcquiesce replied to FantasyAcquiesce's topic in Windows 9x/ME
I already tried the official drivers, mine is a version 3.1 model. Doing the "D:/Driver/9x" command didn't solve anything when I first tried and the add hardware wizard kept nagging me to install the driver, so I couldn't install it...the wizard kept saying there is no information for your hardware after trying the command. How do a shorten a INF file, am I supposed to rename it? -
How to install Windows 98SE or ME on Dell Latitude D600
FantasyAcquiesce replied to FantasyAcquiesce's topic in Windows 9x/ME
The main issue at the time was I had no way of transferring files into the Laptop. Windows 98SE had made the laptop unable to recognize its own CD drive and USB ports. Everything is almost done, I just need to find a working wireless cardbus or usb adapter which supports Windows 9x -
Compatible Hardware with Windows 9x
FantasyAcquiesce replied to galahs's topic in Pinned Topics regarding 9x/ME
I'm looking for a way to use wireless Wifi on my Dell Latitude D600. Does anyone know of any good Mini PCI Wifi Cards? Cardbus or USB wireless wifi adapters works for me too. Please only list those with WPA2 support! I found only the Dell Wireless Pro 2100 which would work, but it probably doesn't have WPA2 for Windows 98SE/ME, but it does for XP. Can anyone confirm this? -
I've been trying to install a card bus wireless adapter for my notebook since there's not much of a chance to get the wifi card working and it seems this issue has been around for a long time for both Windows 98SE and ME! Linksys claims their product is compatible with Windows 98SE/ME, but many users of this product have been facing issues like I have. After I install the software that comes on the CD (Online versions obtained make no difference) I receive a message that new hardware needs drivers. I tried to have Windows ME check the CD and even specific folders, but nothing seems to be working, searching the path which is something like D:/Driver/9x does nothing. The card itself isn't broken. I read reviews on the website amazon from a few customers running these operating systems, but no one provides a solution to this issue. Sometimes my pc will hang if a card bus is plugged in during boot, but there's no other way the card bus can obtain power if I don't turn it on during boot. Other important information??? -In Device Manager, my laptop cannot recognize a PCI Card and a PCI Universal Serial Bus, is this linked to the issue???

How to install Windows 98SE or ME on Dell Latitude D600
FantasyAcquiesce replied to FantasyAcquiesce's topic in Windows 9x/ME
I am using the "bcm94309mp" card A.K.A Dell True Mobile 1400 wireless internet. Any help is appreciated! I couldn't get any packages to work with mine that said Windows 98 compatible so, I ended up using this http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/ ... tion/2909/ (Broadcom BCM57xx). It was the only thing that let my laptop recognize my card, but my driver has an issue in device manager and I don't have any utilities to manage internet connections! Please link me to any working drivers for utility or the driver used to make wireless internet work! I have no other option for wireless internet besides a cardbus, which did not turn out well. Even after getting the CD drive working and making sure there were no conflicts in the hard drive or something like that, my Linksys WPC54G card bus will keep asking me for a location for drivers. -

FantasyAcquiesce replied to FantasyAcquiesce's topic in Windows 9x/ME
Which wireless card did your laptop use? Mine is a Broadcom BCM94309MP. I've managed to find a driver http://www.wireless-driver.com/broadcom-bcm94306-bcm94309-wireless-win98-me-2000-xp-drivers/ But I'm unsure what to do next. I tried updating drivers and linking into the folder only to get a message saying it has no information I ended up finding a boardcom driver which worked with my wireless card. I just need to find a utility which allows me to make wireless connections. My card is a Dell TrueMobile 1400. -
How to install Windows 98SE or ME on Dell Latitude D600
FantasyAcquiesce replied to FantasyAcquiesce's topic in Windows 9x/ME
Sadly that isn't the case with Windows 98SE. Due to lack of chipset drivers (Although there are modded ones capable of installing) and USB support on 98SE, its not even possible to do anything after installing on my laptop. The DVD drive won't be recognized unless I upgrade from DOS 7.10 that has a CD-Rom driver. I could do that with Windows ME, but I didn't realize all it took was a proper chipset and reassigning of resources to stop conflicts. I'm currently reinstalling Windows ME. Lately I've been asking on another forums for help and so far problem after problem keeps coming with Windows 98SE (Although I probably didn't use the proper chipset driver) -

I've been asking on another site and got the steps! I just need to figure out step 3: How do you install these drivers on DOS? If anyone in the community knows the answer please say so! I'm very new to DOS!!! EDIT: The author of those steps told me about DOS being required in order to make the CD drive work, I had to install CD drivers in DOS then install Windows 98SE. I'm having trouble with this step as the laptop lacks a floppy drive and only contains a cardbus slot -
How to install Windows 98SE or ME on Dell Latitude D600
FantasyAcquiesce replied to FantasyAcquiesce's topic in Windows 9x/ME
The DVD Drive is my only remaining problem besides my cardbus (Wireless Laptop Notebook Adapter) the model is Linksys Wireless-G WPC54G. After installing the utility software (Had to transfer it by flash drive since my DVD drive wouldn't work in WinME) I'm getting issues during bootup about the cardbus and cardbus bridge driver. I'm receiving a "The file 'carddrv.exe' was not found" error, I played around a bit and used the carddrv.exe file found in WinME's C:/Windows/System, but that only made me realize its the default, generic driver which doesn't work. I tried ripping the files from my installation disc for the cardbus, but telling Windows to search in there doesn't help either. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to keep the Cardbus plugged into the slot during bootup, the manual seems to tell me to (D:) and its the only way the cardbus obtains power and LEDs turn on. There's still an issue, my cardbus is preventing Windows from properly booting if kept in before boot or inserted during boot. The laptop will hang if I insert midway boot and if I insert it before booting, the Windows ME screen will load, but afterwards the screen will become completely black, with a movable cursor. (I apologize if my grammar/spelling is really terrible, its late where I am atm) I tried Windows 98 again, that DVD drive oddly refuses to work with Windows 98 or ME...It works completely fine up until the operating system loads... Would an external DVD player be a good idea? -

My OS has no DVD driver oddly, I'm either unsure which item on the list of "add hardware" is for DVD's or if there is no option at all EDIT (In case anyone is scrolling through this topic): The issue was conflicting resources -

How to install Windows 98SE or ME on Dell Latitude D600
FantasyAcquiesce replied to FantasyAcquiesce's topic in Windows 9x/ME
I'm still having issues with the DVD RW drive, Windows 98 and ME won't recognize it. This won't allow me to install my drivers for my Cardbus sadly... The most important part of audio and video are solved, sadly the official video drivers won't work so I used the unofficial one... Has anyone tried these drivers in a physical machine?
