My machine is working this way - crash, reboot - i got system protection error, reboot - safe mode is default - reboot - scandisk and normal boot - Its annoying, i dont know if is QEMU or Win98 fault, but too much rebooting.

Its somehow possible use driver for other or similar device just by change some IDs? Its just Lan card, i dont have problem pay some bucks for driver. Its possible somehow hack other driver to use it with this card?

cdob: Sorry im not in location were now computer is, but yes im doing this types of cloning for years, problem is that this ITX board, were only USB ports avalaible are intel USB3 and whole computer is in case passively cooled - Akasa Euler S, it would be quite hard to access USB2 ports headers and have possibility to run a machine (cooling), i have tried some USB2 port to USB3 header cable, but it doesnt helped with my problem - keyboard and mouse are not working, OS is booting at least into safe mode and here cursor blinking.. I have tried connect mouse and keyboard directly or through USB hub no success. I have on same machine second Windows 7 partition, installed with USB3 drivers include and its running well. Its Skylake system, board is ASUS Q170T. There are even SW to adjust Hardware in machine to new machine - P2P (Physical to Physical) adjusment or Dissimilar HW recovery tools. Problem is that as far as i know, only tool, which could to it, without whole image recovery, only just adjust is Paragon HDD Professional and unfortunately - his taste of INF files is quite problematic - lots of valid INF files not working with this tool - its scanned as invalid or empty. I can do same really nasty convert this partition in VirtualMachine add drivers (+ not only USB, also for Lan and add VNC client as backup), make image and recover image into physical machine, but it would take lots of time and there would be some virtual machines drivers leftovers.

Hello, its possible to adjust Windows 98 behavior to not boot to Safe mode as default after crash? Its annoying, because my version crashing often and i can you USB device in safe mode, so safe mode is useless for me.

Hmm, i though that there is some old working intel installation package. I dont know how to use this package, i have only one 1 device without driver and it is - SM something and have tried to use Hasswell inf from package for it, but its not wokring, infinite drivers searching inside of folder with driver.

Hello, i have managed boot Windows Xp and Geforce 970, but i need also some Audio and Lan driver, and using USBtoLAN adapter as backup and without sounds gaming boring, i had MSI board MSI Z97 Gaming 7 where all these things working, but wasnt available, so i have bought Asrock Z97 Extereme 4/3.1 Yes i could use also USB audio or soundcard, but switching is annoying. Update: Realtek HD 2.74 seems to work fine, so only LAN driver is needed.

I did more games testing- Updated: Quake 3 - runs 100% - 90 FPS. 1600z1200 - full details Warcraft III - once 60 FPS, once 5-10 FPS - probably after some driver crash Diablo 2- 50 FPS, once it run very slow, but now is running well Doom 2 - i managed get it working, throught ALT+ENTER and back to fullscreen, but framerate was around 15 FPS Diablo 1 2x times perfect, once 5-10 FPS, i dont know what is now changed.. Hexen 2 demo - OpenGL version is running well, after OpenGL32 replacement (from Windows\System) game running well Heretic 2 demo - crash after menu, probably so OpenGL dll machine is needed, i wanst able to find out, which dll is for opengGl to replace it UT99 - sometimes i start it and its FPS 10 FPS, sometimes is 60 FPS, probably depends what i do before, maybe i driver often broken after other action

You will need to get the VID and PID for the Device from the Registry. Can you describe it with more details? When device is detected is detected like USB to LAN 10/100 adapter - but im asked to add drivers but i have only some exe to install them.. and even it is installed autodetection is not working and if some inf installed or added to system i really dont know which files are for my adapter.

I won, i just tested Unreal Tournament 99 demo, Quake 3 demo and Diablo demo and its working with Geforce 7950GT passthrough. I have to install Unfociial geforce drivers not from installer, but from some zip some and through have a disk option and inf file, from this post: USB - passthrough is working only for USB2 port and i have sometime i have got freeze and i need to do few restarts (because of USB is not working in safe mode and system protection error in first boot after crash) , to proper boot again.. and i few time i had to do, change GPU to VNC Cirrus make to changes and reboot and use Geforce GPU again Present problems: - some Windows explorer freezes during file operations - file coping is slow and mouse is froze for 5-10secs, i dont know if is just Win98 "feature" or some QEMU problem, i just have vanilla Windows 98 installation, i would like to install some Win98 update rollup if is avalaible. Hello, i migrated Windows 7 from other machine to new machine, problem is that new machine is USB3 only, no PS2 at all, so after boot i cant controller a machine. I have on same machine other new fully working Windows 7 partition, when i injectem USB3 drivers during installation. I need inject USB3 drivers from other Windows 7 install or from some bootCD. I have tried Paragon HDD Professional P2P adjust, but Intel drivers are in format which Paragon cant inject. Is there any other P2P driver injection boot cd? I cant control mahine, throught network (Remote desktop), because there is not user password for admin or network driver missing too. Edit: Some silent installer of Intel USB3 or realtek NIC drivers inserted into Start up folder could be a solution, if something like this exists..

Can someone point me to last driver version? I have G7950 PCI-E and when i try to install drivers from exe, i have got lots of empty windows dialogs..

But there is some QEMU trick how to make VNC keyboard and mouse working, maybe some similator workaround could be used for make USB working as PS2 device inside virtualization.

I maked USB working, but only in normal mod, in safe mode is not working and when machine crash, is needed to control safe mode throught VNC client- its stupid, but its nothing too annoying. I dont know, maybe its Win98 SE limitation that USB not working in same mode, problem is that as far i know, there is not QEMU PS2 device passthrough. So only Network and Audio is needed to make it fully working. I didnt test any benchmarks but its really fast with Core i5 2500S - 1 core and 256 MB RAM.

rloew: Could recommend some piece on eBay? I just can confirm that Unraid machine with my new arrived passivelly cooled Geforce 7950 PCI-E is booting in to normal mode! I now have not time, but i will continue with more testing. Question: Is there some Bios setting, which could do downgrade USB3 ports for USB2? To be fully supported by Win9x or this dead end? If this is somewhere working, it still could be MB dependent, i want to know if it is worth of try, i have Gigabyte Z68 chipset board and Z97 board is ready too, i only wanting on CPU which is on the way.. Problem is still not USB, outside of VNC mod.. In VNC mod i can boot to safe-mode and i can see that no USB controller there, what is probably why keyboard and mouse not working at all. I have tried New hardware detection in safe mode, but nothing was found, but i read about some trick to rename somae PnP Bios device to PCI-BUS and some new devices were detected - even some Network adapter and USB PCI controller - problem is that somewhere is process and lost - CD/DVD devices with Windows98 mount image, so i have not drivers for that to test it.

Today i tested on my Z68 board PCI card options, but i had no luck with Creative Audigi and SB !Live and 3Com lan card, only PCI device which is detected is ATI Mach PCI video card, but when is added to machine is not booting, but i already have new Z97 board and wating for new CPU from Ebay, i will retest it. Im also looking for any other PCI videocard, some Nvidia or more modern ATI. Today i also ordered PCI-E Geforce 7950 so we will see.. I wonder is there any Win 9x compatible USB Lan or USB Audio card because this could be solution too?
