Not so , as it is written in my first post Interlink MailNews is already my default email client. I believe that to solve the problem you need a reg file that adds a Interlink Mailnews subfolder to the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail" with entries similar to those of Thunderbird. Although this does not solve my doubt of the initial post.

But also New Moon is distributed as .7z package.............. In "StartMenuInternet" folder there is even a previous Basilisk installation. No reference in the "Mail" folder to Interlink. Then the string Pale Moon is present in the registry key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Clients\StartMenuInternet" and in the registry key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail" remains the Thunderbird string.

I advise users who have installed previous versions from Videohelp to uninstall the previous version with registry cleaning and deletion of the DAUM folder in programs and then proceed with a new installation. I usually use Iobit Uninstaller portable + CCleaner. I have verified that an installation above the previous version increases the space occupied in HD.

I finally managed to configure Interlink. 3 IMAP accounts + 2 POP accounts While the IMAP accounts are entered in the list on the left in automatic mode, the POP accounts are present only if we deselect the appropriate box. New emails are not automatically checked when the client is opened. At least it seems so to me.

In my opinion Interlink is a still immature email client. Very difficult to configure multiaccount especially if IMAP and POP. The use of the email client is not as intuitive as Thunderbird. Thunderbird 52.9.1 was released on 10 July 2018. Setting up multiple accounts (POP and IMAP) with Interlink is too difficult. It will not be my next email client.
