  1. From the February updates, you installed: (KB3115858, KB3123294, KB3126593, KB3126587 and KB3124280, plus KB3134814 for IE10). I also installed those updates, but when I took a look at the Microsoft Security Bulletin Summary for February 2016, I also found these updates: KB3126446, KB3133043, KB3134214, KB3135782, which you didn't mention. So I wanted to know if there was a reason you didn't install these updates. Thanks
  2. Hi, I took a look on this page: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/ms16-feb.aspx After that, I downloaded 10 updates: (KB3115858, KB3123294, KB3124280, KB3126446, KB3126587, KB3126593, KB3133043, KB3134214, KB3134814, KB3135782). Am I doing something wrong, or is there a reason you didn't install those other updates? Sorry for my English
  3. I created a .reg file, with this code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\WPA\PosReady] "Installed"=dword:00000001 Do I have to delete the something too?
  4. Windows 8.1 x64 does indeed require a new CPU instruction. I don't know where Microsoft does notice that, but I found it on EightForums. http://www.eightforums.com/installation-setup/33167-8-1-upgrades-says-wont-work-pentium-4-prescott-630-a-2.html ....Free internet TV content varies by geography, some content might require additional fees (Windows 8.1 Pro Pack and Windows 8.1 Media Center Pack only)To install a 64-bit OS on a 64-bit PC, your processor needs to support CMPXCHG16b, PrefetchW, and LAHF/SAHFInstantGo works only with computers designed for Connected StandbyIf your PC is currently running Windows 7 or Windows 8 you can check to see if it meets the requirements by running the Upgrade Assistant. Pentium 4 630 HT is a 64-bit CPU, but it is not able to run Windows 8.1 x64. However, it does run Windows 8 x64.
  5. This is the CD section in my CONFIG.SYS: [CD]device=himem.sys /testmem:offdevice=gcdrom.sys /D:mscd001 device=btdosm.sys device=flashpt.sysdevice=btcdrom.sys /D:mscd001device=aspi2dos.sysdevice=aspi8dos.sysdevice=aspi4dos.sysdevice=aspi8u2.sysdevice=aspicd.sys /D:mscd001 I replaced oakcdrom.sys with gcdrom.sys. But it still doesn't work?
  6. Ok, I have a 98SE CD, so I will extract the boot image. How can I find it on the CD? I understand the editing of CONFIG.SYS, but how can I create a bootable ISO of it again?
  7. Thanks for your reply. How can I install gcdrom.sys? Do I have to put in on the Win98 CD?
  8. And what about my Dell Optiplex 380? It has an Intel G41 chipset. I have an external graphics card and sound card, which both work with Windows 9x. The Optiplex doesn't have IDE, so I think I need an adapter, if it works? I have 2GB DDR3 RAM, and an Intel Pentium E6600 processor. When I boot from the Windows 98SE CD, Windows 98SE can't find the SETUP files. I have a SATA CD Drive, so I think it needs to be an IDE drive?
  9. Hello, is there someone who has experience with Windows 9x on an Asus M3N78 motherboard with the nForce 730a chipset? I don't use the onboard graphics. Also, I have an external sound card which is compatible with Windows 9x.
  10. I used the normal version, non-stub version of Firefox and SeaMonkey.
  11. Once you drag the exe file into the Application Compatibility Launcher, be sure to click the bar at the top of the Application Compatibility Launcher window (to “select” it, if you will) before you press the Enter key. Thanks for your reply. Yes, I did that. But it still shows me the message I need Windows XP or higher.
  12. Hello, I installed Windows 2000 SP4, and after that, I installed Unofficial Service Pack 5.1 and after that the Unofficial Update Rollup v11. But when I start the Application Compatibility Launcher, and drag the Firefox Setup, or Palemoon Setup, or SeaMonkey Setup in it, it keeps saying I need Windows XP?
  13. Hello, no, there is not really a particular reason for that version. But because it was the last version for Windows 2000, I installed that version. But it is working now, I found a portable version. http://pockethacks.com/how-to-use-an-old-version-of-skype-3-8-and-4-2-portable-and-fully-working/
  14. Hello, is it possible to keep using Skype 4.2.0.187 on Windows 2000? I don't know where I can change the version number.
  15. I use Windows XP also as my main OS. I started using SeaMonkey yesterday, and I really like it. I also installed the Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 updates, and I don't have any problems.
  16. Ok. Do you know a safe browser to replace Internet Explorer 8? No Firefox and Chrome please.
  17. Hello, Does anyone on MSFN still use Windows XP as main OS? If yes, did you experience any problems with hacks after the EOL of Windows XP? And do you still use Internet Explorer 8?
  18. Hello, Are there Windows XP graphics drivers available for the following AMD APU's? A4-6300 A4-7300 A6-6320K AMD Athlon 5350
  19. Hello, I tried an older version of Skype, but I can't login to that version, because it's too old.
  20. Hello, Is it possible to install Skype on Windows Millennium Edition? I know I can install an older version, but I can't login to that.
  21. Ok, thanks for your reply. I've installed all the updates. But I like Internet Explorer 8, so do you think it is safe to use it with the updates?
  22. Hello, Can I use Internet Explorer 8 safely after installing the POSReady 2009 updates? Because Internet Explorer 8 does get updates on Windows Embedded POSReady 2009.
  23. Hello, I reinstalled Windows XP Professional on my PC. I installed all of the updates, except an update that notifies me that support for Windows XP has ended, and another update. After I installed the updates, I installed the POSReady updates, but Windows Update doesn't show me the update that notifies that Windows XP support has ended anymore. Should I install this update from the Microsoft Download Center, or is the update not important?
  24. Ok, there are some updates for Internet Explorer on Windows ME available from the Microsoft Download Center, but I don't think that those updates are all the updates that have been released for Windows ME. Thanks for all the help.
