  1. thnx i'm getting right to it just don't get me wrong i used nLite but it doesn't give an option of slipstreaming programs.
  2. thnx, but is there a simpler program (non-command line) beacause i can't see the features i'm looking for there
  3. i was siur you knew, i wanted help others who wondered how to change that could you recommend a program for that?
  4. I was wondering if you could tell us where to change those options, because I assume that the system works faster??
  5. I use xp because it's stable, fast and compatible with the latest software. I have a PIII 800 512MB RAM PC and the system starts in less then 20 secs after pressing power button, and i use NAV2005 . The PC is on for several days before reboot, meanwhile downloading, playing warcraft3, editing video, and of course browsing the web, and it doesn't crash. This was impossible to achieve on win98se. The blue screen appeared only after 12-24 hours of constant use. Besides all new programs are made basicly for xp.
  6. you can always change the letters if you like in administrative tools
  7. Do you how to make a win xp cd with let's say slipstreamed sp2 and other different programs like Office 2003, NAV2005, divx codecs, winrar and other stuff. I suppose it'll rather be a dvd but it would realy help when reinstaling windows or installing it on several PCs. I've heared of sm like that so i know it's possible i'm not only siur much... If anyone has an idea pls help
  8. Unfortunetly not all dos apps work on XP, despite using Compatibility Tab Ge0ph is right pressing F8 at startup doesn't give you DOS mode. It's a complitely different program wich looks similar but the commands are different.. And as far as I know even if you wanted to run DOS from a floppy it wouldn't sea your NTFS partition (unless you have a FATXX of course)
  9. they're the best, longhorn rulez
  10. ABC is best for me - fast, small and easy BitTorrent client
  11. Nero Burning ROM or Roxio Easy CD/DVD Creator The first one is much simpler, and cheaper but it's the best
  12. NAV 2005 (2004 also ) I have used it since the 2000 edition, but it has to be instaled on clean os, otherwise it won't do any good. ... and LiveUpdate inevitably
  13. FIREFOX RULEZ panels are the best!
  14. I used NIS 2004 and hadn't got a problem for over a year, and i must add that i'm connected to the web 24h The only inconvenience is that it slows the pc considerably Now since i'm behind a router i use only nav2005 and sp2 firewall, and it's fast and works graet
  15. Maybe you won't need a xp cd. Check if you have a i386 diractory in your root directory c:\i386 (but not the one in c:\windows\...), some manufacturers leave it on the hdd after instaling Windows. It's the only directory from the cd that nLite needs. + sp2 ofcourse
  16. I would say it's a virus or something, but if you have NAV then it can't be it... Check your virus definition updates and look for some spyware removal tools. Maybe you set some network drives wich xp is mounting while logon...
