ya i read about this a while ago. is just amazing how big disks can get now... but the price is just completely unacceptable regardless of the technology.

the heatsink that came with my opteron looked pretty amazing but my ninja is just 100x bigger. i couldnt stand my stock gpu cooling, 70C+ is just not right, now i never get above 60

which raptor do u have? b/c technically the 74gig is a pata with a sata connection, thats why you are able to install OSX on it as an ide drive while sata doesnt work so well..

Your IDE drives will be placed infront of SATA drives, no matter how you set the boot drive preferences Most BIOSes will detect PATA first over SATA, however you are wrong with your statement and you can choose in most BIOSes where to boot from, it doesn’t mater if it PATA, SATA or even USB-HDD. which is exactly what i thought. my bios is prolly one of the best thats out there and has so many options, maybe other bioses just dont have the option.

the verbatim + or - dvds from newegg are the best imo, 100 packs are nice. i dont think ive ever had a coaster with a single one out of 200 dvds.

are you shure that you put the drive rails on at the right spots to the drive?

i had this same exact problem on 2 of my comps when my video driver wasnt installed... maybe try using an older vid driver? and whose driver are you using?

they are disabled. would the router be blocking the ports if the activity is only happening in the lan? and why would disabling the firewall not open all of the ports? what else would keep them blocked?

i have a netgear mr814v3 and i want to play age of empires 2 over lan. the problem is that i need to open ports otherwise the 2 comps cant connect to eachother. but my router will only allow 1 comp to be assigned to an open ports, otherwise i get a port conflict error. now what am i suppose to do here? disabling the router firewall does nothing and setting up dmz does nothing(unless im doing that wrong).

arnt u able to set the default drive in the bios?

if u dont want amd then why did u even mention it? i was assuming that u liked amd and was wondering about their new socket. in which i suggested that you get it since you will be future proofed for amd.

i have the scythe ninja and it is an amazing heatsink, its as queit as you want it to be and cools vry good.

im looking for a receiver for under 400$, nothing special. any recommendations? right now im looking at some denon ones, wondering if anyone know the differences between the avr-587 and the avr-1507

How much RAM do you have? @ 1GB, even 20MB isn't much. Unused RAM = waste of money so u wna have ur ram maxed out all of the time? lol my 2gigs definetly comes in handy with vista taking 700mb plus games now taking well over 1gig. i almost need more ram...

if you are doing anything between the ide and dvd writer, then there will be reduced speeds. this is due to the fact that data can only be sent one way at a time. so yes it will work, but slow. if you wanted to you could get an ide->sata adapter.
