oh, i was only talking about that particular chipset. so currently thats true. in the future it will definatly change.

ocz was on the top 2 years ago, now they are still good but not the best..

the external display WILL work correctly, it can be set to whatever resolution you want to be set. i do not beleive that windows remembers the previous settings for that monitor tho, so you will have to manually change it each time you plugged it in. games may look a little different, but oh well. you want it to stay at its native resolution, it will look better that way. you just hope that the game supports it.

well this is a possibility. u could have vmware use 2 gigs or ram and then run it in x64, not vmware. that way it will only see 2gigs of ram? or make a ram disk out of your ram? im not sure if the program check the full amount of ram you have or the free ram..

from looking at the manual. 1st step is vga detect, that works good, 2nd step is ram detect, it bugs out there, so it has to be the ram. have u tried only one stick?

it may be a memory error. try only 1 stick of ram, try each by itself. also try clearing the BIOS. try the above first, otherwise try the below

what psu do you have? do you have the extra cables plugged in? read the manual to make sure that you do. try unplugging the hdd and seeing how the cd boots.

well thats overclocking i cant tell you how many hundreds of times ive restarted computers b/c of overclocking.

the Corsair HX620 is a great psu! its what i used for my friend's comp. he has an e6600 and 8800gts. modular and thin cables, great for cable management!

ya thats why i recommend dell alot, only for their great customer service. they cant diagnose problems well at all but when you need something fixed, they are happy to do it.

oh man...i wont reply on this thread again. my temp. is 62 C idle with AS5 applied dude. and i dont think there is any region in the world is hotter than mine!! here it is 42 C average temp. thts y i have to use it. @Woomera , i dont know abt nvidia overclocking..u can refer forums.guru3d.com to know how to do it.! AMIT lol, that is what im talking about. when its hot out the stock stuff just doesnt work well. for you its always hot so you had to do some upgrades, whether it was thermal paste or heat sinks.

if you think that they arnt terrible, then why are u using AS5 and an AC Freezer? yes they may work most of the times but once summer comes... your screwed.

thats not a high end graphics card... its midrange. 62C idle is very high for those cards, even on stock. think about getting a good heatsink for that, the stock ones are terrible! just wondering, what are your cpu temps? i rarely get over 50C on my 7800gt with an nvsilencer 5 rev3, those are discontinued now.. and the last time i checked, there were no overclocking programs for vista.

if you are flying to all of these places then im sure that you can afford a cheap 500$ laptop... that would obviosuly make things 1000x easier. you can even go on ebay and get one for 200-300$.

ya ive been talking about that in some other threads. operating systems already support multi-cores. newer game such as crysis will take full advantage of it. if you want to wait a month or so then i would suggest waiting. the Q6600 is the same clock speed as the E6600 but with 2x the cores. it will definatly future proof you.

the only difference between the e6600 and the e6700 is that the e6600 has a multiplier of 9x and the e6700 has a multiplier of 10x. all this helps out on is overclocking, but when your using multipliers or 9x and 10x, they really don't make that much of a difference unless you have phase change and you are trying to overclock to an insane speed. then there is the clock speed but you can easily overclock the e6600 to e6700 speeds, EASILY. so get the e6600. here are 7900gtx's on ebay: http://search.ebay.com/7900gtx_W0QQ_trksidZm37QQfromZR40 i love evga also, if you get an 8800gts, get an evga.

well im wondering about you. do you really want SLI? you could get a 200$ mobo w/ intel chipset. an e6600 which will easily reach e6700 speeds and beyond. sell your 7900gtx. get an 8800gts. if you do that, you will save $100+ on the mobo, 100$ on the cpu, ebay your 7900gtx for 200$. thats 400$. a 640mb 8800gts costs ~350$. just something to throw out at you
