they are the same exact chip except that the 3800 at stock is just slower. thats the only difference. so if you overclock it to the 4200 speed then there you go. it even tends to overclock more than a 4200 does.

get some pc4000 ram instead, it will overclock better, if you want to do that. i would also recommend a dfi nf4 board, again only if you want to overclock. as scubar said an opteron would be nicer but it is more expensive, otherwise get the 3800x2 and just overclock it.

evga is the best as i always say. the early versions of the overclocked 7900gt's from all manufacturers were somewhat bugged and evga has fixed that problem allowing ppl to send in their "old" 7900gt's for the new/fixed ones. so what video card are you looking at? most of the time there is no problem when buying overclocked video cards.

well for overclocking... not to mention the incredible support dfi has, INCREDIBLE.

you would need to get an agp video card, not a pci-e video card. just make sure agp is in there somewhere. and if u look at the motherboard diagram, it goes right into that "agp slot".

the xfi and xplosion are about a 10$ difference. and there just was a nice rebate for the xplosions where is was 90$

maybe ill look for some of those tools. ive just been using IE since i dont rly do much JS.

i just like nvidia too much, hopefully ati will make a good chipset but i doubt it. and i love how this may be one of the last ati-intel chipsets. lol now all amd needs to do is buy nvidia in a few years then its the best of both worlds

yep, soldering is an option, but its very dangerous, especially in that tight of a spot. ide say to scrap that psu and get a new one. and take apart that psu and try to get those heatsinks onto something for some nice passive cooling.

now to reply to my comment from over a year ago, x64 is the best. its so fast, its based off of server 2003, all my devices/hardware works just fine. i higly recommend it over the 32bit windows.

well my opinion on liteon is that they are #1 for cd burners but not so much for dvd burners. maybe they are better now but im not positive. both my and a friend have the nec 3550a and its amazing. very cheap too, $31 at newegg. plextor is also good but expensive. as for video card brand, my favorite is evga, they have amazing service, run fast, and run cool.

i code both java and javascript. and javascript is the biggest pita since it doesnt tell you the error, if a single mistype is in a huge function, then it will just say that the function has an error. oh wow! that helps me so much! not. on the other hand, java will give you the exact line and value that there is an error on, so nice

well thats pretty strange, thx for letting me know that. afaik for amd its as long as the cpu is 64bit.
