  1. WPI for Windows 98/98 SE/ME added to Important / "Stickified" / Pinned 98/98 SE/ME Topics: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=95815 Keep up the great work.
  2. To my knowledge newest NDD.EXE version [strictly native DOS tool] is from Norton Utilities 2002. Newer Norton Utilities editions do not include DOS tools anymore, or if they do their versions are the same. HTH
  3. I don't remember making any changes to option 3 scripts in a while, so it should work properly. If you have 2 different versions of 98SE2ME laying around, please PM me with the O3*.BAT files [zipped] from the older edition, and I'll see what I can do. Thanks. AbyssHunted:Thanks to dencorso, I took a look at older 98SE2ME option 3 batch files [*.BAT + *.INF] from Frebruary 2008, and compared them with the newest ones you have. The only difference was O3WEB.BAT did not contain quotes for LFN folder names so DOS boxes can recognize LFNs properly, which I've fixed later on. This file does not affect option 3 explorer.exe in any way. All other files are identical. Therefore if you have used 98SE2ME option 3 within the past 12 months, option 3 files have never changed, and they should work properly on your computer(s). Maybe there is something else you or some software setup did that messed up 98SE2ME option 3 installation, perhaps explorer.exe WinME version was replaced with Win98 SE version? Because if WinME explorer.exe had been replaced with Win98 SE version, then your Windows OS would definitely lock up, and would need to have explorer.exe from WinME reinstalled in %windir% [usually C:\WINDOWS] from native DOS mode. HTH
  4. dencorso: Many thanks for your hard work [and to RetroOS for testing]. I'll take a look at the VXD files , and probably add them to 98SE2ME [soon]. I'm also considering an exe installer [iexpress]. Best wishes.

  8. Sfor :Nvidia 82.69 does not work with Windows 2000/XP/Vista/etc [nor any other NT based OS], it is only for Windows 98, 98 SP1, 98 SE + ME, and it is the last driver [beta] ever released by Nvidia for these operating systems. NV 82.69 is also the only driver which has LCD monitors wide screen resolutions implemented. Please see the ReadMe: * Tweaked Unofficial NVIDIA Display Driver 82.69 for Windows 98/98 SP1/98 SE/ME: http://www.mdgx.com/files/nv8269.php NV8269.EXE [14.5 MB, multilingual]: http://www.mdgx.com/files/NV8269.EXE Supports theoretically most PCI, AGP + PCIe/PCIx GeForce + Quadro 5xxx, 6xxx, 7xxx, 8xxx + 9xxx series and widescreen monitors resolutions + refresh rates. Also, this driver may not work properly with mobo integrated NV chipsets. [?] If I can find the Dev ID for your chipset, I'll add it to the list [.INF]. Best wishes.

  12. Do i use the new 1 or the old 1 also do i use the one in the wmp folder or the system i don't need both MP817885: http://www.mdgx.com/wmp.htm#WMP10 Fixed SED to install on all NTx OSes. Installs WMPNS.DLL 9.0.0.3250 [from XP SP2] newer than the 1 from official fix [9.0.0.3002]. This fix installs on all Win32 OSes: * Unofficial Windows 98/98 SP1/98 SE/ME Media Player (WMP) 6/7/9/10/11 Plug-in With Non-Microsoft Web Browsers OCX Control Java Error WMPNS.DLL 9.0.0.3250 + WMPNS.JAR Fix: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=817855 Direct download [216 KB]: http://www.mdgx.com/files/MP817885.EXE Requires WMP 6.4 or newer already installed: http://www.mdgx.com/wmp.htm#WMP Ok, I got it... better later than never ... WMPNS.DLL 9.0.0.4503 comes from XP SP3.But I have no idea what bugs have been fixed in this release, because I can't find documentation on this subject. Why there are 2 copies [of the same file] installed in 2 different dirs: %windir%\system and C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player that's because some MS update I installed way back [?] did that, so I presumed they must have had a reason. 19. Nice work MDGx! As always, a superb package! - so far Windows Media Player works correctly. However, a word of warning: The last three releases of 98MP10 replace SHFOLDER.DLL. If you are using KernelEx 0.3.4, 0.3.5, or 0.3.6, you will lose the SHFOLDER.DLL patching. After installing 98MP10, you must uninstall and reinstall KernelEx to re-patch SHFOLDER.DLL. I have removed SHFOLDER.DLL from 98MP10.Please test at your convenience: http://www.mdgx.com/wmp.htm#98MP10
