had ported my user data folder from v13.2206 to v13.5 ru after deleting the extensions that came preinstalled. must have done it wrong because now i found myself with a "polluted" preferences file with many "ru" text in it. mostly from the deleted extensions but could not be sure. so had to start clean with your v13.5 , installing the saved srx files , tampermonkey scripts and importing the srx settings from v13.2206. copying the data folder without the pref file won't install the extensions. deleted all the "non en" from the extensions locales after that. kept me busy for a while but all good now. this v13.5 version has , as a bonus , the bold fonts in the ui for me. time for a new system backup ...

Alpha release for version 13.5.1030. YES ! thank you very much ArcticFoxie ! i was hoping you could not resist ! was starting lo learn russian after 2 days of use. have not been able to crash the 13.5 ru version and by the looks of it neither could you. (even with dep enabled) this alpha is very much usable and i don't mind some untranslated leftovers. maybe the chrome and exe files should be left untouched this time if possible. that way there is less risk of creating stability issues , i think. hosts file will do just fine for the two connections i posted earlier. i would like to ask for one improvement (change) to the skin. bookmarks toolbar icons in 13.5 look more compacted (rectangles instead of squares) then in 13.2206 and icons are off center to the right. i use bookmarks in the toolbar with text removed so only the icons show. what i very much like about this skin in 13.5 is that links (on hover) in the statusbar are very much more readable vs v13.2206 ! i am one happy camper now !!!

@ArcticFoxie , haven't run your v13 version for that long and it does the same for me. just needed to as new moon 28 is frozen in it's tracks and more and more pages don't work. after the learning curve i was impressed with this chrome version. (on xp!) very fast , opens all sites and releases memory when it should. was getting used to the crashes (and even your blue theme ) when i saw the post about v13.1. you mentioned v13.5 so i found that and started testing. can not fault this one yet where with 13.2206 you and i can. (html5test for me and an open started reply on msfn for you) have made the settings (that i need and do not change) and have my extensions after removing the ones that come installed by default. these connections are made on browser start only. Host Name : hiya.browser.360.cn Host Name : puv.tt.browser.360.cn don't know what they are , if this is a risk , or what data is send. the russians left it in v13.5 for a reason ? (blocked in hosts now without negative effect) maybe you accidentally removed too much harmless code and other modifications except translations and skin. but problems to start only after 6 months could make anyone doubt their work and you should not. long story short: just tested the russian v13.0.2206 (default extensions removed) against html5test.com and it chrashes the same as your v13 modified version. conclusion 1 : "stable" 2206 source you started out from is flawed , period. conclusion 2 : you did nothing wrong , except for leaving out a win2k skin no doubt in my mind.

i know and i am not asking you to do so. to me all 360chrome versions are beta , stated or not. have copied my settings from 13.2206 to 13.5 and will run with it for a while. chrome 86 on xp is amazing , russian or english. just saying v13.5 is stable for me , not pushing you to do anything now or ever. all i can say is thanks for all your hard work. my reply's are just meant as feedback , nothing more.

i know that is not the correct way and don't recommend! way out of my depth here as to why v13.5 is stable with my user data folder from 13.2206. (options.zip and preference file excluded) now got the white chrome theme with bold fonts. will keep testing v13.5 ...

currently testing the russian v13.5.0 portable with your loader and extended ini. (http://effect8.ru/soft/browsers/360-extreme-explorer-portable.html) the ui is mostly russian but it's very stable for me , can't get it to crash. replace the three chrome files in 13.5 with the ones from 13.2206 and it will.

thanks ArticFoxie for at least looking at the newer v13.1 and 13.5 versions. i had deleted all files from the 13.1 application that are not in v13.2206 before first run.(chrome files excluded) no services running after closing the browser that way. (bloatware displayed , yes) point i was trying to make that crashes on html5test are a good test for general browser stability. if you use that site beyond normal use it will crash all v12 and v13 versions.(v11 will not and with v12 it will take much longer) refresh many times , compare , clicking all over the site and such. (in fact misusing the page) it has been my experience with v13.2206 that it also crashes randomly on other pages during the day. sometimes the 360chrome.exe , sometimes the chrome.dll. v13.2206 is the only one that does not display the dots circle upon loading the site. (v11 , v12 and v13.1 do) maybe it has something to do in the way scripts are loaded , i don't know. given the fact you cant replicate this behavior complicates things somewhat. so i understand your reluctance to have a go at it now. was just surprised to see a v13.1 version as robust as v11 , that's all. will stay on xp with v13.2206 until you decide it's time for an updated "non beta" v13.1 or 13.5 version. regards.

@msfntor. you are correct but what counts is the stability op xp sp3. did test v13.1.4010.0 extensively and it is rock solid. can't crash this version on html5test.com , all other v12 and v13 versions do. so the latest beta has my vote ...

i second that request. (360loader version please) it is the first v13 version that i can't get to crash on html5test.com. i find it even more stable then any v12 versions , those will also crash on html5test , only takes some minutes longer. know it is a big ask but i hope ArticFoxie is up for the task. this would be the "final stable" v13...

no clue but for me this works ... tested from this found : /usr/bin/google-chrome-stable --user-agent="_USER_AGENT_STRING_" %U

permanent user agent change for 360chrome on xp. this will enable 4k video @ 60fps resolution with 360chrome , that is if your pc can handle it ... but at least you will have the choice. also , there may be other benefits from spoofing the user agent. for example : the outdated browser warning on etsy.com is gone ... tested with v13.2206-4 on win xp sp3. see for yourself at html5test and on youtube and feel free to experiment. first make a coy of the ini before using this. add text below to the last line in the 360loader.ini at [FileToRun] and put a space before the --. --user-agent="Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/93.0.4577.82 Safari/537.36" have fun.

thanks for the elaborate reply. yep , it is something in the dll only . not the options.zip , the pak file or the skin. (i have tried everything and then some) i will keep the v3 dll for now as it is much better for me to read and use. all bold font now down to the bookmarks , the context menu and even the download window. many years ago i was forced to modify my system to use the arial black font everywhere. first through xp display properties / appearance. second mod was with reshacker on some dll files like shell32.dll and others. (don't remember exactly) and then i replaced the arial black font with the one from win 10. (just because it was newer) https://www.askvg.com/list-of-files-to-be-hacked-using-resource-hacker/ maybe the v3 dll calls on shell32.dll for all i know ... as you can not replicate , it must be some interaction between the v3 dll and my system and not with internet connections made. have set 360chrome to my default now with the method i posted earlier. have renamed all pale moon file type entry's first in regedit to chrome and pointed all needed in folder options / file types to 360 loader without DDE. this was a fun ride to setup and it came at the right time as you will understand. am happy to be a member at this friendly and very helpfull board. hope i can contribute and help out in some way if needed. last i want to thank ALL who contributed to getting this amazing project off the ground ! regards.

hello ArcticFoxie. tracked down the "bold font in the user interface" issue i talked earlier about. i have those with the 360Chrome 2206 rebuild 3 - unran - MSFN version. copied the chrome.dll from rebuild 3 to v13.2206 - 4 and now have those also in that version. i think you said you could not replicate this behaviour so ... my question is : are there important changes made in the chrome dll in regards to stability or otherwise between rebuild 3 and 4 ? screenshot below is v13.2206-4 with the chrome dll from v13.2206 rebuild 3.

about the red and green https padlock : did some tests. first test: have a v13.2206 folder with noscript 11.2.11 installed. with that msfn has a red padlock. with noscript 11.2.3 the msfn https padlock is now green. (same settings) cloudflare , google syndicate and google analytics set to default , the other two trusted. when i set cloudflare to trusted , msfn turns red. don't use noscript page refresh to test , close the page and load msfn from bookmark to see the effect. some random other sites are still red. with a clean unran v13.2206 profile msfn has a red padlock but with the above noscript 11.2.3 settings msfn is green ? can not repeat this behaviour on other sites yet , only on msfn. second test: deleted all intermediate , trusted and untrusted certificates from the ie8 cert store. updated the cert store with cert updater v1.6. the trusted and untrusted store is repopulated but the intermediate remained empty. this had no result on random pages with a red padlock but had no adverse effects either. so i will keep the cleaned out and updated cert store. have no posready updates installed except usb exfat and the tls 1.2 plus reg settings.

i have noscript 11.2.11 but that is not it. have copied the 360chrome folder in two sessions to a usb2 stick (exfat) first the data folder and second the application folder. got a delayed write error when copying the whole folder at once. now 360chrome has all the login data and settings from the extensions when run from usb with my ini file. going to copy from usb to the other computer to check that out. will update this post ... update : copy files from usb to pc1 - same problem. to exclude wired network issues i did copy the 360chrome folder to another xp pc - same problem. so no network issue , only difference besides the processor is that those two other desktops don't have a ssd. had all utp cables measured some time ago and they all checked out fine. from usb2 , 360 runs with all settings and saved data , extensions and all.(waited a minute for it to fully load) so no issue with your files just something strange again on my side.(again) don't have a clue at the moment but my bet is on the ssd / usb to normal sata harddisk transfer. have a laptop somewhere with a ssd so will try that later at some point , am beat now. am not used to any errors on any of my five systems ... sorry to have wasted your time. grtz. edit : found the solution to 360chrome not retaining login data and extension settings after copying the folder to another pc. https://superuser.com/questions/1020479/how-to-migrate-google-chrome-profile-extensions-cookies-etc-to-another-wind had to copy one file from : Application Data\Microsoft\Protect\S-1-5-21-long name ... from pc1 to pc2. that file is created on first run of 360chrome regardless of what the ini settings are. folder name could be somewhat different but look for the "last created" 1kb file. copy that file first before running 360chrome on another pc. now all is retained , passwords , cookies and extension settings. problem solved.

thanks for the reply. tested but it did not work. noscript settings gone , cookiekeeper has the protected cookied list with all set to 0 value. all saved login data is gone together with the site login data set in the cookies. tried even with all entrys in "run after" removed from the ini with the same result. also tried running a clean unpacked folder from the original zip file with the above "run after" modified ini and then copy the data folder. (also tested with your ini suggestion) nothing seems to work. strange thing is scripts in tampermonkey are all there and work , same as my custon.css for the font size. both are hp desktops , not the same but close.

hello ArcticFoxie. me again with a question about 360chrome 13.2206 - v4. have setup the browser with extensions and saved site logins. extensions such as noscript , cookie keeper and tampermonkey. when copying the 360 folder to another xp pc all site logins and extension settings are gone. files in the user data \ default folder are all the same and the same size. any way to achieve this ? regards. comment : have DEP set to alwaysoff in the ini now and can not crash the browser yet. some DEP warning still came up with only changing the settings the regular way only excluding 360chrome. some random memory error from the hardware portion of DEP probably.
