Im sharing files over my LAN however people running XP cannot access my shared files. I can access theirs though. When trying to access the Vista computers shared files from an XP machine they will get a message that the user has not got the rights to access. How to I resolve this?

Well I simply removed the services from startup through msconfig and then I have it available if its needed -It will probably never be needed though, but you are right one could choose to not install/uninstall it.

The Acer BIOS I am running is very limited, I can not find any calibration for the battery there However as I recall this started already in WindowsXP and might definatly be the hardware failing. Do I have to buy a new bat?

I have a problem with my Acer TM8100LMi. My battery lasts about 50min on power saving in Vista. However the battery indicator shows from 100% to 97% and then all of a sudden pops up "critical battery" warning at 6%. There is no indication in between. Why is this?

Excellent. I do mean "full format" yes. Still a mystery to me why MS left this out during vista setup.

That is true, however quite few people (like myself) even have a floppy drive these days. Therefore i appriciated the function in XP during setup. Wonder why they did not include it in Vista.

How do I format my drive properly in vista? seems only quick format is available during setuo.

When installing Nero 7.7.5.1 (vista compatible) I'm asked to upgrade my "outdated" DX 10 to DirectX 9.0c, and cannot cancel. Why does this happen? Will I encounter problems clicking yes at this?

FYI I am running Vista on an Acer laptop TM8100 and using Acer Laung Manager that controls keyboard triggers for adjusting volume/brightness/email/web buttons etc as well as show info on screen when pressed, fails. I can adjust LCD brightness (also done automaticly when unplugged from power source), but I cannot adjust volume, although on screen indicator moves. This is clearly because vista is not (yet?) supported

Is it possible to have all folders default to "side by side" icons and not the "detailed list"?
