  1. Thnx! How cool, I'll see if that works! Edit: Ctrl+f1 did nothing F1 shows help though. The BIOS is extremly limited, almost like there should be some more dev. options. Only things I can alter is boot device order and password mainly. And I cannot see temp
  2. Thank you for your help! My lappy is not even a year old and high-speced... Should run most games without ANY problem. I have previously ran HL2 and CS without complications... I've got the latest drivers (that Acer rarely/never update) and BIOS. I have not tried to blow out the vents, but doubt that's needed since the machine is fairly new... But I could try!
  3. I don't really know how to set or see the temp. There is option to alter shutdown temp in the BIOS, but there are temp monitor. Ill check what the temp is at reboot after WoW hard shutdown.
  4. Acer TravelMate 8600, ATI Radeon 9700 Gfx. While playing WoW, after about 2-5 min the laptop comes to a hard shutdown. What is causing this? How can I resolve the issue/debug? Ps. There are no issues while in Windows.
  5. Since the list only affects Internet Explorers access to certain domains, I highly doubt my list is causing your problems. Try the uninstall regfile and see if the same thing happens without my list installed, however I find it very strange if this has anything to do with it. My list has no way of blocking applications etc.
  6. You need to find it what domain is blocked for me to see why it was added and IF it is added to my list.
  7. Excellent news )
  8. Did any of todays updates fix it? Hm, it seems to work after the new updates. can anyone confirm?
  9. Yep thank you that's the one. You passed it fine when the OK and "Avbryt" (cancel) buttons appeared. A few secounds after that page loads at the very point you see the java logo, IE closes all open windows and the error report is generated. I've tried now with sun java 1.3 1.4 and 1.5, the same thing happens.
  10. Guys, would you mind try reprodusing this error? Try open URL www.norsk-tipping.no, on the left hand side you will se a menu, click "Mine spill" at the very top, more items appear, click one of the below eg. "+ Mine spill", a java console opens and immediatly closes IE and produces the sun java error log (at desktop) at my system.
  11. Is there a way to install this update unattendedly?
  12. If you use autoit you could compile the script and not allow decompilation, and thereby somewhat secure the information.
  13. Good question. I'll look into that and try make a script that adds several networks to AutoConnect.
  14. Hmm, well I've tested with archived versions of Sun java now. I'm thinking it's the particular java apps im testing with that are bad. I'll try the activex update anyway and see what happens.
  15. Thank's. Im leaning towards your last point, thought i have touched very few files in i386 dir except upgrading flash and integrating the latest hotfixes, since a couple of "versions" ago where I did not have this problem... I have yet the troubled way to find exactly what caused this :/
  16. Please.... Help me find what file is causing this problem so I can replace with original...
  17. Excuse me Mr. Gouki, I will make sure to advice the rules before posting next time. Thank you for your understanding Sir. rendrag: Thank you for your reply, your contribution is highly appriciated. I have found that the best solution as of my knowledge at this time would be the D-link DI-304 ISDN router connected to a wireless access point.
  18. How can I (or can I?) create a WLAN on ISDN connection? (With no server) Is there eg. such thing as a wlan router with isdn modem? Or any other method?
  19. When i enter a certain java plugin webpage IE closes and produses a sun java error report, what is going on? error report posted here http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=71625
  20. I'm installing Sun Java 2 SE RE 5.0 update 6 using: jre-1_5_0_06-windows-i586-p.exe /s /v"/qn ADDLOCAL=All AUTOUPDATECHECK=0 IEXPLORER=1 REBOOT=ReallySuppress JAVAUPDATE=0 JU=0 MOZILLA=1 SYSTRAY=0 WEBSTARTICON=0 Whenever a Java Applet is trying to load in IE (6), IE suddenly close all open windows and I get a java error report file on desktop. (See attachment) Someone please help me out figure what's going on... hs_err_pid3800.rar
  21. Oh, ops just tested this one in VM and it's not really working... Please wait until further notice. .reg file is buggy.
  22. Come on people, after all the help I've provided, time to return the favour. help me out please...
  23. I felt a new topic was in it's place (admins please correct me if I'm wrong). A full Windows Vista sound scheme including registry file has been released. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=71604
  24. Upgrade your old sound scheme with the new Windows Vista sounds... Including MSN / WLM messenger sounds I chose not to make an SFX archive or installer, so you can include it on your UA media the way YOU prefere. Installation guidelines: 1. Place the Media folder in %systemroot%. 2. Apply the included VistaSounds.reg. Ps. The system audiofiles are named in Norwegian. If you would like to rename them you must also rename in the VistaSounds.reg file, however this is NOT necessary... Download (Direct)
  25. Yes, that's true and I find that to be a problem...
