i need Mozilla Thunderbird install switch
totoymola replied to Asterisco's topic in Application Installs
Is that it? No need to edit the .ini file? -
i need Mozilla Thunderbird install switch
totoymola replied to Asterisco's topic in Application Installs
Yep. That is what I'm trying to say. You have to extract the files from the orginal installer, edit the .ini, and repack it again. In my case, I use the setup.exe of the mozilla browser. I don't know if that is necessary, but it works for me. edit: I guess the phrase "build your own installer" is not correct, because it is acutally "rebuild the original installer". -
i need Mozilla Thunderbird install switch
totoymola replied to Asterisco's topic in Application Installs
you have to build your own installer. -
Yeah. But I only want the dictionary, so how can I get the installer of the dictionary only? Because the full installer is a monster.
-
Hello guys. I'm looking for a way to install this with my UA. I don't need the entire package, I only need the dictionary. Thanks.

@ZileXa I'm sorry but I don't know how to do a custom install silently, but I can build a new one with flashplayer plug-in only if you need it. @Astalavista Aaaargggghhhh.. I have no Flashgot installed on my system when I created that msi.. So I didn't get the chance to try it. But you are right. It's not working for me either. Sorry.. I will try to build another one if I get the chance.

MCE 2005 Installs not all components
totoymola replied to mediapla's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Why would you do that? MCE2005 has SP2 integrated already. Yeah it is a 2-cd installation, because the CMPNENTS folder is on the 2nd cd. What I did was, I just copied all the contents of the 1st disc to a folder (XPCD folder for example), then I copied the CMPNENTS folder from the 2nd disc there too (just like what you did). Then here is an example of my winnt.sif ; Microsoft Windows XP Tablet Edition Setup Answer File ; [UserData] ProductKey="YOURM-EDIAC-ENTER-2005S-ERIAL" ComputerName=MEDIACENTER2005 [Data] MSDosInitiated=0 UnattendedInstall=Yes [Unattended] OemPreinstall=Yes TargetPath=\WINDOWS OemSkipEula=Yes [Identification] JoinWorkgroup=WORKGROUP Everyting works fine for me. I think the setup didn't detect the files inside the CMPNENTS folder that's why had that problem. Because I tried installing MCE2004 before without the CMPNENTS folder, and I got the same result like yours. -
Yes. You are correct. This msi is not customizable like what you expected. I built this for my personal use, for those who are lazy building their own, and for those who use (or like) the themes and extensions included. Every person has different needs and wants, so I can't build an msi that will suite the needs of everyone. But on my next project, I will try to make a "customizable" installer, with different languages. @Astalavista Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you like it.
-
As of now, I didn't include options on the installer to customize the installation more, because I don't know how to do it. Sorry.. But I was thinking of that too (plus additional languages), and I will try to add that if I can.

Ok, here is my version. You can download it HERE. Features: It is just a basic Firefox msi with: - Flash Player plug-in - No DOM inspector - No Quality Feed Back Agent - Additional themes and extensions (You can choose to install it or not, but they are installed by default) If you choose to install the additional themes and extensions, you will have: - Google as default homepage - Noia (Extreme) as default theme - Additional themes and extensions (of course) Here is the list of the themes included: - Noia 2.0 (eXtreme) - Noia 2.0 (lite) - SphereGnomeBig - ScribbliesKids - Curacao - Pinball - 708990 - Littlefox - Walnut - Archaic - ScribbliesBrite - Nautical Blue - Pheonity - Doodle Plastik - Nautical And these are the extensions included: - Flashgot - Adblock - Image Zoom - BBCode - QuickTabPrefToggle - Mouse Gestures - Context Search - GooglePreview - Resize Search Box - Translate - Gmail Notifier - LinkVisitor - FireFTP - Advanced Highlighter Button Note: If you choose not to install the themes and extensions, you will have a basic installation of Firefox with Flashplayer plug-in only. If you encounter any problems, or if you have any suggestions, please let me know. A BIG thank you goes to Astalavista for testing my msi's.
-
Is it? Anyway, I will make a list of the features of my msi later.
-
Yeah, that is exactly what I am doing. But I always an error message, or sometimes the installer doesn't execute the script at all!! Anyways, I figured out a solution last night. Instead of using the script, I used an exe. And it works perfectly!!
-
That is so true. I was building my msi, and in my experience, it works for me everytime, but not if I install it on a different pc. ****! I still can't figure out how to execute a script at the end of the installation in the msi!!
-
I'm not sure if this is the best way.. But I'm sure it is working.
-
Really? I tried it serveral times and it worked perfectly for me. The entire build process took less tnat a minute. You should try it again. There are a lot of bugs fixed in this version. But I don't use it personally, because I don't want an sfx installer, so I'm working on my msi.

This is a tool from http://firefox.dbltree.com. It is called FFDeploy, designed for deployment of firefox. With this tool, you can install ALL the plugins you want, configure everything including bookmarks and others, and install your firefox silently. Everything is done for you automatically.

Finally, the much awaited Mozilla Firefox 1.0 is out! download here

How to silent install Downlaod Accelerator 7.3?
totoymola replied to Sanjay's topic in Application Installs
really? i only use taskill and it works perfectly for me everytime. -
Just figured out that the rc2 also has those search plugins. But I can't see any yahoo and amazon icons on my browser. I guess I don't have to do anything about it. Is that P.M.? If it is, then that must be the final! Unless they will have another last minute release. edit: i think they will place their final release on the "release" category, not in the "nightly". so this might be the ftp site that we have to check. http://ftp26moz.newaol.com/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ or http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/

now Firefox is final, is any easier switch's?
totoymola replied to kC_'s topic in Application Installs
that means it will be available on... 4 hours or so... stay tuned Hahaha!! I will not sleep then! Anyway, I found this tool designed for deploying firefox. Visit this link. And the direct link for the tool is here. -
Haha.. I was expecting that. Because it is free, so it needs advertisements to make money. Well, too bad for most of us. I just hope they will not include ad-wares on their fuutre releases. Is there any way to remove them?
