This is what I use for Alcohol: -
then Im sorry. I though the error happened during the extraction. But like I said earlier, why don't you try installing it on your system first. Then if you stll get the same error, build your installer again., and FOLLOW EVERYTHING this time. Good luck. Please let us know your results on VPC and on your system.

I think no one is insulting someone's work here. Simon's guide is REALLY great! I'm using his method and it works fine. Although I have a slight problem with the shortcuts, but I don't care. Shortcuts are not that important to me anyway. No no no.. Please don't get me wrong. Im just curious to know if others are also having the same problem as mine. Like most of you, Im also waiting for the official release. Simon, your guide is REALLY good. It helped a lot of people including me.

I don't get it.. I thought the error happens during the extratction process..? But anyway, If you already extracted the files and installed it on your system, but you still get the same error, there must be something wrong with your installation files. Go back to the step 1 of Simon's guide. I never said that. Im just telling my PERSONAL opinion about these two softwares. VMWare works faster for me, and Virtual PC works slowly but surely. I also had a problem installing Nero using VMWare, but not on VPC and on my real pc.

Hello y'all! I tried searching for the silent install switch for this program but I came up empty. I want to install and register this program silently. The switch for the silent installation is /s, since it is a WISE installer, but I don't know the switch for the registration. Is there a way to register this with a switch? Or registry tweak is the only solution?

Well, if the extraction process is the only part that gives you the problem, why don't you try installing from the extracted files.? It is actually the same. The only disadvantage is you will have a bigger file in your disc. There are several ways to know if the problem is because of the RAR file, or because of VMWare. One is installing your RARed setup on your system using the command prompt. If you still get the same error, then most likely the problem is because of the RAR file. Personally, I prefer Virtual PC instead of VMWare. VMWare is MUCH faster, but Virtual PC is more stable.

It depends on the website that I open. I have three browsers installed. IE, Opera, and Firefox. But Im using Firefox as my default browser.

I saw this on the Microsoft Virtual PC 2004.msi. So how do we use these switches to integrate this thing to the original installer?
-
Yes, that is true. But they are just looking for the trial version switch. But anyway, I read articles that you have to run the trial version AT LEAST ONCE before applying the full version setup. I'm not sure if this is really necesary, but if it is, I don't think there is an easy way to silent install a full version of this software. If you figured out a solution to this program, please let us know.

In my experience, I also get errors when I install on VMWare. But its fine on a real pc.

Use this. But you have to import your encrypted serial first. NOTE: mazin taught me this. Thanks again mazin!

One more vote and we are even.

But I don't have that option in my UA disc.. The options on my UA disc are completely different from the options in my normal XP disc.

Thanks! I built my boot cd a while ago using bart's pe builder, and it is really cool! By the way, what can you say about my winnt.sif? What seems to be the problem there? Unfortunately, I don't have the option to repair either. It only asks me which partition do I want to use. And after that, an option to delete the previous Windows installation, and to choose a diferent partition.
-
Ok. Im goin to try that now. Thanks. I'll post my results later. But anyway, do you know how to make a start-up disk on a cd? I tried making an Ultimate Boot CD but I haven't tried it yet. And I think it doesn't has the format utility.
-
Yes. I have that. When I choose the option to install without reparing, it will ask whch partition do I want to install. But after I selected my prefered partition, it will only give me the option to 1. Choose another partition 2. Continue using this partition and delete existing installation. (Press L) Its ok. I just need to make a start-up disk on a cd. I my notebook only has a floppy drive...

Here it is. Im using the Windows Media Center Edition cd that came with my notebook. I just integrated the SP2 to it, and edited the winnt.sif, because it already has the winnt.sif.
-
Yes. It has no option to format the hard disk. My UA disc is not actually "unattended", because I still want to manually enter the registered name, regional settings, ect. It is working ok for me, but the option to format the hard disk is missing. That's why I want to know how to make a start-up disk on a cd.

Hello everyone. I need to make a start-up disk on a cd but I don't know how. I need this because my notebook has no floppy disk drive, and I need a start-up disk to boot from DOS, and format my hard disk. Because in my UA disc, it has no option to format the hard disk before installing. It only allows me to delete the existing Windows installation. I would appreciate any help that you can give me. Thanks.

I have that too.

I had that error once, when I tested my UA disc on VMWare. But on my machine, and on Microsoft Virtual PC, it works great. Oh well.. Maybe it is because VMWare has a default hard disk size of 4gig, and expands as you install more programs (unless you allocate the disk space first). Try using Virtual PC, or if you prefer VMWare, try using the advanced option when creating a virtual machine. By the way, Im still having problems with the shortcuts. But its ok.

I don't think so.. Maybe you should try the Wise for Windows Installer instead. They offer a free trial but you have to sign-up first. http://www.wise.com/dev_evaluations.asp

Yep. That is what I'm trying to say.
