  1. how about running the installer, then going to your %temp% folder and copying the msi there.
  2. I know. The question is, how do you hide the REAL comments like the installer of WinRAR itself. If you make an sfx that runs a file after extraction, your comments will have something like "Setup=whatever", right? But if you open the original installer of WinRAR with WinRAR, you will not see that comment.
  3. I have a question about the comments. The comments of the original WinRAR installer from the web (which is an sfx) is this. ; WinRAR ; Multifunctional Integrated Archive Manager What is that? How do you make an sfx like the original installer?
  4. What is the latest version now? It's using installshield, right?
  5. Hello Fezik. I downloaded the file from the link that you posted, and I think it is an Inno Setup installtion. Try /silent. Edit: It is /silent /sp- You can also use /verysilent /sp-
  6. I don't consider this as warez, since most of them are sharewares. And Uharc and CabPack are freewares. Nice find bnm.
  7. It should be like this. But I don't think this is designed for Winrar 3.41. Because it has weird characters if you try to uninstall your winrar.
  8. Is this the one I sent you? If I'm not mistaken, you just have to install the patch then copy the Winrar folder, and make an installer from that. If you try to install it on a different location, it will copy the files inside your %programfiles%\winrar to your selected location.
  9. For me this is the easiest way. This is what I always do. But, Power-Archiver has the feature of multiple extract location.
  10. For lazy people, here is a silent installer. No switch needed. http://ezshare.de/files-en/153215/Mozilla_...erbird.exe.html It is just a basic Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0 msi, packed with WinRAR to make the installer smaller, and to trigger the quet installation (/qb switch).
  11. Wow! Maybe I was really busy that's why I didn't realize that it was out! About the silent install, you can also build your own installer based from the zip version.
  12. I think it can be longer, since the value of the digits after the sentence is zero all the way down. But I'm not sure.
  13. It's not in the registry. You have to hack a certain file, but I can't remember which file exactly it is. By the way, there are free tools that will do that for you. I think I saw one at kelly's korner.
  14. Yep. Hex editor will do the job.
  15. Nice icons there bmn. Which files did you edit?
  16. Just copy the files inside both discs to a directory. That's it. It will not ask you for disk2 becuase it's already there. Note: This is for Media Center 2005. I tried it with Media Center 2004 with SP2 slipstreamed, and it still asks for disk 2.
  17. I tried hacking the shell32.dll, but I can't copy the hacked dll to the system32 folder. I tried using the INUSE.EXE tool from Microsoft, but it still didn't work. So I just restarted to DOS and copied the file. But unfortunately, it the icons are still the same after restarting. Am I missing something here? But hey, the registry works, but I still prefer hacking the dll. Same here.
  18. I think it is not actually developed by Michael either, since the idea has been discussed on the Mozilla site and Mozilla forums. But yes. It is VERY HELPFUL!
  19. Yes it will. It is hidden, but it is still accessible.
  20. I guess not. If you already add the switch on winrar, there is no need to use another swtich.
  21. Here is another one. http://ezshare.de/files-en/137204/DAMN_NFO...31_RC3.rar.html It is English by default. (Because I don't speak other foreign languages. )
  22. If I'm not mistaken, not only the serial in the winnt.sif will be encrypted. I think all the info stored there will be encrypted too. If my memory serves me right, you have to use a tool which is inside the cab files on you xp cd, just like the tool to make the winnt.sif. But I can't remember which tool exactly it is.
