Question: For example, there is a window named MSFN -> Editing Post Autoit Questions - Mozilla Firefox WinClose ("MSFN") will still close it, right?
-
Oh.. You mean you want it to run at the background so everytime iexplore opens, it will close it?
-
Isn't it winwaitactive?

TweakUI 2.10 (for WinXP) won't install silently
totoymola replied to chris_netguru's topic in Application Installs
I will try to build one after I finish reviewing. -
Yeah. I notice that too. I don't know what exactly the purpose of MsiWebBootStrap.exe. I think it just triggers the ff_installer.exe. If that's the case, why would the developer include it to their package? Isn't it easier to execute ff_installer.exe from the sfx directly? Like I said earier, I don't have this hardware so I really don't know how it works. Why don't you try removing MsiWebBootStrap.exe, and just install from ff_installer.exe? What's gonna happen? Edit: No! I'm wrong! I think you still have to run it from MsiWebBootStrap.exe. Otherwise, other components will not be installed. But you have to edit the INI file and add the switch for the ff_installer.exe under [components], in the cmdline.

Do you really have to install it? This is not an InstallShield installer, so your switch will not work. It is an sfx, but a different kind. Suggestions for now: 1. Don't install it. Simply etract the file using winrar. or 2. Use AutoIt. I'm also intersted to know which software is used to make sfx archives like this. -
The Simple method of Firefox Unattended deployment
totoymola replied to `Felix`'s topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Hello `Felix. I haven't talked to him recently. The last time he sent me an email was last October (or November, I can't remember). He is a nice guy. -
The Simple method of Firefox Unattended deployment
totoymola replied to `Felix`'s topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I love FFDeploy. As a matter of fact, I asked Mr. Bob Templeton for the code for his script. Even though I'm making msi's now for my customized installer, I still recommend FFDeploy for those who want the easiest way. -
Because it has to be /S, not /s. It is either NSIS or Setup Factory. Im not sure. But most likely NSIS. I think you can add that switch to the ini file.

Is there a link for the trial version? Edit: found it. Edit2: Is this correct? http://www.snapstream.com/Download/firefly/ I downloaded the top most link. It is an SFX, which has three EXE files inside. The file FF_INSTALLER.exe can be installed silently with /S. I'm not sure because I dont have this hardware.

For people like us, we always browse/manipulate our system's registry. Although Microsoft has provided us a powerful registry editor (regedit), it still lacks a lot of useful features. For example, regedit has a poor search feature. It will only let you see one result at a time, so you have to press [F3] repeatedly to see the exact key that you are looking for. Also, regedit doesn't allow exporting of single values. You can only export the entire key, which can be really messy most of the time. I have tried Torchsoft's Registry Workshop and Lavasoft's Reghance. Both of these programs are good. However, I personally prefer Registry Workshop. I'm really satisfied with Registry Workshop, but I still want to evaluate other softwares. Which do you think is the best?
-
I guess you are using the trial version. Anyways, here it is. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\Dreamweaver\7\Registration] "Serial Number"="YOUR-SERIAL-NUMBER-HERE" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\Fireworks\7\Registration] "Serial Number"="YOUR-SERIAL-NUMBER-HERE" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\Flash\7\Registration] "Serial Number"="YOUR-SERIAL-NUMBER-HERE" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\FreeHand\111\Registration] "Serial Number"="YOUR-SERIAL-NUMBER-HERE"

Good.

This is what I use. jre1.5.0_01.msi Custom=1 IEXPLORER=1 MOZILLA=1 SYSTRAY=0 WEBSTARTICON=0 Reboot=Suppress /qb!- It doesn't reboot. Please try it and post back results.

For the current version, this regfile should work perfectly. Nothing more, nothing less. UltraISO changes their registration entries in the registry so no complicated entries are required. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\EasyBoot Systems\UltraISO\5.0] "UserName"="yourname" "Registration"="yourencryptedserial" I assume you're using english as the default language.

Before, I do that too. I like editing my msi's directly. Especially for huge softwares that are not practical to convert to an sfx. I can also post some here.
-
You can hack 7Zip too. But personaly, I still prefer WinRAR. I find it much easier.

Astalavista's suggestion is the easiest solution for your problem. Just repack your WinRAR installer. That is what we do. Here is how to do it, just in case you are interested. 1. I assume you have WinRAR installed on your system. Download the original installer of WinRAR here. 2. Using WinRAR, extract the files of the SFX to an empty folder. 3. Copy your rarreg.key to that folder. 4. Select all files in that folder and select "Add to archive..". 5. In the "General" tab, select Best Compression, Create SFX, Create Solid Archive, Put Authenticity Verification, Put Recovery Record, and Lock Archive. 6. Click the comment tab, and paste this comment. You only need the rarreg.key.

Just curious, why do you have to copy winrar.exe again? And I think the problem is you missed the quotes. It should be copy "%systemdrive%\WinRAR3.42\RARREG.KEY" "%systemdrive%\Archivos de programa\WinRAR\RARREG.KEY" Or just use "%ProgramFiles%\WinRAR\RARREG.KEY" I'm not sure if the %programfiles% environment variable will work on your version of windows..

How did you do that prathapml? Did you do the same as Ned944's method? I'm not at home and I'm not using my baby, so I can't figure it out by myself. (we are using obsolete machines here in my school! )
-
I had the same problem with my MCE 2004 (OEM). As you know, MCE 2004 includes SP1 only. So when I integrated SP2 to it, it can't locate the files. But there is a solution to that. Go to the i386\Media Center folder (I can't remember the exact path) and extract the contents of the cab file.

Advertising Quick Batch File Compiler again? Well then here is my testimonial Quick Batch File Compiler rocks! I've been using it since version 1.0.1.8 and all I can say is "Wow!". The feature that I like most is the "Ghost Mode", which lets me run my batch files silently. No need to use CMDOW! However, it doesn't support .cmd extension. But that's not a big problem, isn't it? This software is really good. But for a small software with limited capabilities, this is highly overpriced!

Programs that don't need to be installed
totoymola replied to Afterdawn's topic in Application Installs
Unit Converter Pro No registry entries. It the registration is stored in the INI file.
