Oh.. The problem is because you used reboot=reallysuppress. That's not gonna work (well at least for me). Use reboot=suppress instead.
-
On your current system, it may work. But during unattended installation, it still reboots. I can say this because I tried using that switch before on my system, and it worked without rebooting. But when I used it on my dvd, no good.
-
Yeah. I use that too with no problem. Did it reboot when you tried it? What other switches are you using? And don't forget these two: custom=1 reboot=suppress I'm not sure what custom=1 do, but I think lilweirddude is right. I'm guessing you need custom=1, because you are doing a custom install. The default value is zero. custom=0 Without changing the value to "1", I had problems with the reboot.
-
Really? I don't know. Because the switch I posted is working fine for me. It doesn't reboot. Note: I'm using /qb, not /qn. But I think it doesn't matter.
-
Hello deduijk. It depends on the type of installer you use. If the installer is an msi, you can easily change the installation directory. Unfortunately, not all installers are msi, and not all non-msi installers support changing installation directory.
-
I strongly suggest using an mst for this. Alanoll is right, there is no switch for that.
-
Hmmm... That's good. But how about this?

Darn! If I encounter this problem, I will format their hard drive and reinstall the system immediately! Hahha! Ok, I work as a computer lab technician in my school (part-time), and I encounter a lot of stupid questions everyday. Something like.. "What is left-click?" But I understand, because some of them are first timers. There was a funny girl typing her essay using Word2003 earlier. She was complaining that her name (on top of the page of her essay) is marked with a "red, zigzag underline". I told her not to worry about it, because the computer is just thinking that she typed it incorrectly. Then she yelled: "B*ll$hIt!!! I know how to spell my name!!! Stupid computer!!!" Who is really stupid??
-
Hmm.. I will try that!

http://www.bangbus.com is 4% evil, 96% good http://www.satan.com is 1% evil, 99% good What??

Bookmarkt <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmm.. Not really. I have a different source but I don't have the link now. Just do your search on Microsoft's TechNet. Anyway, not ALL msi's use all those switches. Like I said in the other thread, not all msi's are the same. For my msi's, I can use TOTOYMOLA as a property if I want to. And of course, that is only present in my msi. Alanoll's winamp has different properties too. MSI's created using WISE have different properties also. The list here is the most common for public properties for msi's. It's good to know them.

They don't have to fix anything. Their installer if fine. We just don't know it at first. I posted my switch here. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ndpost&p=266180 No reboot. edit: Oops.. I didn't see that lilweirddude posted the switch already.

Disable "shutdown" Button On Start Menu On Xp
totoymola replied to totoymola's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
It didn't work on my pc.. Maybe there is something else. -
I can see your serial number... Please remove it if it's valid. If you use that, so it will install everything. And are you sure about the SLL_LICENSENUMBER=YOUR-SERIAL-NUMBER ? Because in the previous versions, we used PIDKEY (I'm not sure, I can't remember.).

Disable "shutdown" Button On Start Menu On Xp
totoymola replied to totoymola's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Really? Good! I will try it tomorrow. Thank you again. I wasn't really playing with msc files that's why I don't remember using them. Thanks again for reminding me. -
I'm sorry guys. I wasn't clear on my earlier post. I was talking about the very first version of USSF (by Zoster). That doesn't work for the latest version of PEiD. I haven't seen Nologic's update when I posted that.

I tried using the latest version of PEiD for this, but it didn't work.

Disable "shutdown" Button On Start Menu On Xp
totoymola replied to totoymola's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Thank you guys! Too bad I can't do this to the computers on my school because they are just using Win2000.. But at least I can fix mine. ****! I just did a complete reinstallataion 3 days ago! -
Hell yeah!! That is one of the most powerfull virus in history!! Because of that, Norton, firewalls, port blockers, etc.. became more popular!! Hahahaha!!

OFF TOPIC Hey Astalavista! I ike your avatar. It's like Frosty the Snow Man with an M16. Hahaha! What flag is that??? Aren't you proud of being a FILIPINO?????
-
Hello guys. I don't know what happened to my start menu, but the "shutdown" button on my start menu disappeared! Because of that, I have two questions. 1. How can I fix it? 2. How can I remove it again? (But this time, not by accident ) This is what I want to do to the computers on my school. Because I hate it when students shutdown the computers instead of logging out!
-
I don't know why, but in my experience, this still reboots. It is reboot=suppress actually, and I add custom=1 Remember, netscape=1 is not a valid switch. I'm not sure about netscape6 because I don't use that. But I'm 80% sure it's not a valid switch either, because I don't see it in the property of the msi. I think I posted my complete switch on a different thread.

Quicktime 6: I have searched and searched... but..
totoymola replied to Sahil's topic in Application Installs
I'm confused. Which version of QuickTime are we talking about? The pro version? Or the free iTunes version? Because their installers are very different. QuickTime Pro ----> Vise installer iTunes -------------> InstallShied InstallScript MSI wrapped into an EXE. For the iTunes we have two options. a. Install from the AIP. To get the AIP, run iTunesSetup.exe /a b. Install from the original setup file. Run iTunesSetup.exe /s/v/q Vise installers don't support the /a switch. -
I forgot to mention here. If you want to specify the name and the company name, use COMPANYNAME= and USERNAME=
