@XPerceniol! Forget about "dns over https"! It is not as secure as it seems. I read an article about it, and this technology is immature! PS: Sorry for mentioning @VistaLover! My editor in my browser got totally crazy. It didn't react and deleting didn't work, either. I clicked more times, and suddenly, there was @VistaLover!

ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy in Windows XP for future use
AstroSkipper replied to AstroSkipper's topic in Windows XP
Yes, and that was the reason why I replied with No. I will stay on my old, slow, and beloved computer, of course. More recent hardware, more recent OS which means no Windows XP on that computer. Unfortunately, that is exactly the real problem. On new hardware, old OSes are nonsense. Old OSes can't really handle new hardware which they are not developed for. That's the truth! Here in this forum are a lot of people trying to install Windows XP, or much worse, Windows 98, on a brand new machine. Nonsense, unfortunately! But, each to his own, a second time today! We all can do what we want to. Even if it doesn't make any sense at all!- 922 replies

ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy in Windows XP for future use
AstroSkipper replied to AstroSkipper's topic in Windows XP
In this case, you do not need my program package. Take @cmalex's original archive of ProxyMII which contains the naked proxy without any comfort or additional features. The settings of the proxy have to be done by yourself, no automtism as it was the case of ProxHTTPSProxy. Each to his own! Cheers, AstroSkipper- 922 replies

Hello @RainyShadow! Thanks for your reply! All is described in the documentation of the downloadable archive. Have a lot of fun! It's totally easy to setup because I have programmed a fully automatical tool!- 922 replies

Hello, are you really still using the ancient, long unsupported Firefox 52.9.0 ESR? And if so, may I kindly ask why? Anyway, it's simply unsecure and definitely not to be recommended due to the lack of security updates! BTW, MSFN is also fully functional in New Moon 28 (2022-08-05)! And presumably, in all other roytam1's browsers, too! Cheers, AstroSkipper

ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy in Windows XP for future use
AstroSkipper replied to AstroSkipper's topic in Windows XP
@RainyShadow! Everything has been updated as you have desired in your post from 5/31/2022. ProxHTTPSProxy is now based on OpenSSL 3.0.5 and Cryptography 3.4.8. It provides all TLS protocols from TLS 1.0 up to TLS 1.3 and its corresponding, most recent ciphers. A CPU with SSE2 instruction set is no longer required, SSE only is sufficient. Furthermore, my program package ProxHTTPSProxy's PopMenu has been changed completely, improved, and extended, too. BTW, it is quite a bit more than a launcher. And, what do you say now? ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy in Windows XP for future use
AstroSkipper replied to AstroSkipper's topic in Windows XP
Alright! That's really powerful! @mina7601 BTW, I have other more powerful computers but I do not use them. Frankly, I don't like the more recent OSes. Sometimes, if necessary, I use a Windows 7/Windows 10 dual boot laptop. But I'm going to start building a more current, by no means cutting edge computer soon. Just for the purpose of doing things I can't do with my old beloved computer. The parts have already been bought.- 922 replies

ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy in Windows XP for future use
AstroSkipper replied to AstroSkipper's topic in Windows XP
My Windows XP computer is equipped with a Pentium 4 2.8 GHz Northwood single core CPU and only 1.5 GB SD-RAM. No SSD, no SATA but IDE harddisks. My graphic card is a NVIDIA 6200 AGP 4x one if you know what that means. The RAM can't be extended. Only three slots, and there are no 1 GB modules. The computer itself and especially the motherboard was manufactured in 2000. It's survived fires and other events before. I repair everything myself. I love my old machine! PS: And I can't send him into retirement. He has been with me for 22 years, and that would not be fair. The computer was originally delivered with Windows ME, and the partition still exists.- 922 replies

I didn't give you only a version number, I said Firemin Portable in the version 6.3.1.5105. I already offered to upload this version one week ago, but you didn't reply. This version is not available in the internet and by using the Wayback Machine anymore, either. Anyway, the next time, I'll be running my desktop computer I'll upload this version for you and other users. Cheers, AstroSkipper PS: On Rizonesoft's download site, are always two versions offered, an installer and a portable version of Firemin. @ADMM Rizonesoft's Firemin Portable 6.3.1.5105 is the last version of the series 6 and Windows XP compatible. It is Open Source and a useful tool if you are low on RAM resources, and works with nearly all browsers, AFAIK. The purpose of Firemin is to reduce the RAM usage of the browser, all controlled by this tool in the background. Here is the link of the archive uploaded by me: https://www.mediafire.com/file/34exiyav9zcoxkp/Firemin_5105.zip/file I tested the most recent version Firemin Portable 8.2.3.5338, and although the website stated a compatibility from Windows 7 or higher, it works in Windows XP, too. Here is the link: https://www.rizonesoft.com/download/3951/ Cheers, AstroSkipper

But, if you already use this feature, why does the Min2Tray icon bother you then? Hide it! You can access it by clicking the arrow at any time.- 922 replies

BTW, you need it to change the settings of Min2Tray, maintain the Minimized at startup list or the Bosskey list, and modify the short cuts. But you can hide it and access it using WindowsXP's native feature.- 922 replies

@mina7601! As my beta tester, what do you think about the implementation of Min2Tray in my program package? Do you like it? Does the additional systray icon bother you? Do you use or like the global feature to minimize most of all windows to the systray by right-clicking the close button?- 922 replies

Hello @thomasxxx! Thanks a lot for posting a new solution! You see very easy to post here. One recommendation for further posting. Use bold text and font size 18 for the headline only due to a better visibility! When someone reads your post, the headline stings you right in the eye and the reader knows immediately what this is about. Just a recommendation, of cource! Anyway, this is a good post, and your English is totally ok.

ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy in Windows XP for future use
AstroSkipper replied to AstroSkipper's topic in Windows XP
A VM is running in a host system requiring real hardware in any case. Therefore, you must have a much more powerful computer than me, otherwise you couldn't run a VM, an OS in an OS. My Windows XP computer is more than 22 years old and can't run a VM. Too low system resources, too slow, and a 32 bit system only. BTW, in your profile, you stated Windows 11 as your main OS. Then, your computer is much more powerful than mine without knowing your exact hardware specs.- 922 replies

My Browser Builds (Part 3)
AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
I removed all themes or special styles from all of my used roytam1's browsers long time ago. Very often, these themes caused issues, especially after updating. I only use the standard built-in theme. -
ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy in Windows XP for future use
AstroSkipper replied to AstroSkipper's topic in Windows XP
I forgot to mention that I am very interested in the opinions and experiences of users which have installed my program package ProxHTTPSProxy's PopMenu TLS 1.3 3V3 in Windows XP on an old computer which is less powerful or even slow, and low on system resources like me. Maybe, with a CPU lacking of SSE2 instructions set, i.e. SSE only. Please, post your observations and impressions! I need this kind of feedback! Cheers, AstroSkipper- 922 replies

Hello @feodor2! Thanks for your reply! I take this opportunity to thank you for the latest beta version Mypal 68.12.5b. A big step forward in the development. I am thrilled! I already updated some extensions in the past. I did it via the update menu item of the Add-ons Manager without deleting anything before. I wasn't aware about deleting the file addonStartup.json.lz4 first. Why should it be necessary? Anyway, it also works without deleting this file as far as I can see. The extensions I have already updated are working properly. I didn't notice any issues but I'll test and examine this a little more closely the nexr time. As far as I can remember, the manual updating via the update menu item in the Add-ons Manager by selecting its xpi file works as expected. Cheers, AstroSkipper
