“Be mindful. Be grateful. Be positive. Be true. Be kind.”

What I wrote about the Frisian people is true. Most of them tick like this. And, me too! -

Forget about Google Translator! Not really a good choice! Use Deepl instead! -

No, it's English. -

It's not Frisian but English. Use Deepl and translate "woe betide so."! -

What does this word mean? (the bolded text) "But, woe betide if you do!" means "But, woe to the one who does it!" or "But, don't you dare!°. -
It is advisable not to change this function if everything works well with hardware acceleration. In my system, hardware acceleration is disabled. Setting layers.max-active to 1 works well for me.

And very important for a Frisian is to enjoy a cup or can of strong black tea called East Frisian Tea. And, exactly that I am going to do now. To all, have a nice day! Read you later! -

AstroSkipper replied to XPerceniol's topic in Funny Farm
To shed a little light on the mentality of the Frisian people, for all who never met or spoken to such one, Frisians are basically very level-headed, not wavering in their opinion, rather calm, cosy, friendly, always willing to help, a little taciturn, in most cases not resentful, and very rarely let themselves get out of their own way. Shouting is not one of their traits. And, you have to do very bad things to upset a Frisian and make him angry. But, woe betide if you do! -

Yes, you are still a juvenile on the way to become a man. And, it is a long and hard way I can promise you. I am more than three times your age and believe me I know what I am talking about. Ok! I will try to speak as clearly as necessary! I am a Frisian and a man of strong character in his prime. I am more than three times your age. My profession is based on a large field of teaching. My subjects are maths, biology, chemistry, Latin, and marginally, physics and informatics. So, what do you want to teach such an experienced person in your age of 16 years? Your answer about my English language skills was far from polite. And, you have taken the wrong tone towards someone much older and more experienced than you. BTW, there was no shouting in my post! This is complete nonsense. Shouting means capitalization, and there was none. You are talking to considerably older men here in this forum, among others, and it's not about sensitivities. Logically, plain language is spoken here, in a polite way, of course!. You can't be much squeamish about it. And, the imperative mood used was more a request. Anyway, I thought you'd be a good guy. Should I have been mistaken about you? Be honest and say what you are thinking now! -

AstroSkipper replied to XPerceniol's topic in Funny Farm
@mina7601! Being honest, having a real opinion and standing by it are the things that matter. Everyone has to find their own way and not constantly follow others. And that sounds easier than it really is. To be more clear, the way is the goal and not necessarily the goal itself. -
“Be mindful. Be grateful. Be positive. Be true. Be kind.”
AstroSkipper replied to XPerceniol's topic in Funny Farm
No, not at all! What makes you think that? You are still very young and have to find your way, though. But, you mustn't get lost in the process. Sometimes, you should go back a bit to avoid any one-way streets to find the right way. -

For me, it was the other way round in my childhood. I was an absolute fan of Robin Hood and slipped into the role of my hero with a self-made bow in a nearby forest. -
“Be mindful. Be grateful. Be positive. Be true. Be kind.”
AstroSkipper replied to XPerceniol's topic in Funny Farm
Yes, I do did. No, I never said your English is that bad! @mina7601! So much for teaching! If you really wanted to say "that bad", then you wouldn't be as polite as you always claim to be. It is best to reconsider! -
“Be mindful. Be grateful. Be positive. Be true. Be kind.”
AstroSkipper replied to XPerceniol's topic in Funny Farm
No one taught or teaches me here! You're completely on the wrong track! Getting friendly and voluntary help in a very polite way is very different from being taught. I was already speaking English when you were far from living. And, my obvious grammatical errors were about few specific situations in the English language, which were answered in detail by @VistaLover, @Dave-H or @Mathwiz in a very pleasant and appreciated way. And, two of them are native English speakers, and @VistaLover's English is quasi native as well! Unfortunately, I am beginning to agree with @D.Draker's statement: Do not disappoint me! -
“Be mindful. Be grateful. Be positive. Be true. Be kind.”
AstroSkipper replied to XPerceniol's topic in Funny Farm
Thanks a lot! And, I really meant what I said. But, I think you are much younger than me! Actually, I thought of deleting nature, polluting seas and rivers, or more generally, waters, the negative, human influences on the global climate, the extinction of many species, and so on. Simply said, the destroying of our beloved planet Earth. GMO (Genetically modified organism) is another point. Of course, there are pros, but a lot of cons, too! BTW, unfortunately, sometimes, I feel a bit like a docent here. Sorry for that! That's not how it's supposed to be and that's not how it was meant. -
“Be mindful. Be grateful. Be positive. Be true. Be kind.”
AstroSkipper replied to XPerceniol's topic in Funny Farm
To be kind is the best way to communicate with others. Unfortunately, there is also the opposite and that belongs here just as much as what this topic implies. Sorry to say that! But, it is the truth! And unfortunately, there are creatures on this planet where kindness will get you nowhere. -

Yeah , of course , the next time some unhinged russkie zombie is going to kill me , I'll make sure to say : "dear sir, please stop for a while , I need to explain to you that there are "evolutionary theories" saying we are supposed to be from the same species" . Well , my European brothers , good luck to you with such views and policies. Even addressing that zombie as sir is as idiotic as it could get @D.Draker! I am mathematician and natural scienctist. I believe nothing. The theory of evolution is nothing to believe. There are facts. If you want to, have a look in this simple, popular scientific article about "Early human migrations": https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_human_migrations Evolution doesn't mean that all changes and developments are good or bad. I definitely know what you think about a special part of the human population. And, as I already said, I totally agree with you. Unfortunately, there were some misguided developments in the past centuries. Did you read 5C? You see, we share the same opinion. But I cannot agree with you about evolution itself. Please, do not confuse the two! Anyway, if I were younger and had a similar education to yours (and maybe, some more muscles ), I would come along and show my support for our views, even though I am actually a Pacifist. Humans have interfered very much with evolutionary processes over the last centuries, unfortunately in a rather negative way. In this case, however, I hope that the intervention is massive and that we can correct this aberration, ultimately. -

AstroSkipper replied to XPerceniol's topic in Funny Farm
Maybe you have misunderstood something! What made you think you had to teach me English? Did you read all my posts and articles? Do you think my English is that bad? Misspelling caused by worsening of the eyesight is a job for an optician. Anyway, have a good night! I am tired, and my bed is calling me. -
“Be mindful. Be grateful. Be positive. Be true. Be kind.”
AstroSkipper replied to XPerceniol's topic in Funny Farm
And I thanked you for that, did you forget that? If so, then once again But, I hope you know that these misspellings were caused by the fact that my eyes have become worse, and my computer glasses don't work for me anymore. I am totally aware of the grammatical difference between "provide" and "provided", of course! So, what's your problem? -
“Be mindful. Be grateful. Be positive. Be true. Be kind.”
AstroSkipper replied to XPerceniol's topic in Funny Farm
That's right! But what I meant by mentioning @VistaLover and @Dave-H was their deeper explanations in special grammatical constellations and their detailed examples of the correct use. Think of my little "either" problem! Now, it is history. And, @VistaLover's remarks are always more detailed than any others here in this forum. And @Dave-H, he is a native English speaker, and that speaks for itself. -
Thank you, I didn't know that at all. So this is a good security feature. So set to "true" do you know where this blocklist is located and what other prefs are related. Thanks again You're welcome! You may check the internal page about:third-party to find out which third-party DLL files are loaded in Mypal 68. I didn't check that, it's informaton from ghacks.net. I am on my Android tablet at the moment.
