  1. My recommendation of the eicar test files was just what is well-known and easy to apply. To be honest, I usually do not test my antivirus programs. Only if something bad happens, or I have the impression that it is not working properly. The official test which are performed on a regular base are sufficient for me. Sometimes, you have to try a little trust to organisations like av-test.org or other institutes which do such tests for years or decades.
  2. In KM76.4.7-Goanna-20230325, there is another issue, even in a new, clean profile. Right-clicking on a toolbar, then pointing with the mouse to the entry Toolbars, and finally clicking onto the entry Options leads immediately to a browser crash. Here are two screenshots:
  3. This issue seems to happen with old profiles. In a clean, new profile, this issue doesn't occur. Just tested! Anyway! Not so great! Any ideas to continue using old profile?
  4. Confirmed! Same problem here with the most recent version KM76.4.7-Goanna-20230325.
  5. No problems here with these links in Serpent 52! No timeout, the HTTPS-links on this site can be opened and work as they should.
  6. It has been a very long time ago since my last post on forum.palemoon.org. The last years, I used this forum to find solutions for problems with addons or websites and still do so. So just in a searching and reading mode.
  7. You can download so called eicar test files to test antivirus programs. Use Google and you will find them!
  8. I didn't find any offline installer. Any link to a working, full offline installer? The name, size or date of this installer would be helpful, too.
  9. The online installer Antivirus_Free_Edition_x86.exe for version 1.0.21.1109 doesn't work anymore. And there is no offline installer. So, no installation of this version in Windows XP possible anymore. Unless you still have the original installation files which were downloaded by the online installer during installation. But presumably, that won't help either. I think the installer has to download the necessary files itself to continue and finish the installation.
  10. When I used this online installer last month, it downloaded an offline installer which ended in the version 22.00.00. Due to the forum rules, I am not allowed to provide a download link of my installer. But using Google leads very easy to an offline installer of 22.00.00. Maybe, Panda don't offer it anymore officially or only in Germany. I don't know. Use Google, enter "freeav.exe"22.00.00 and the second entry looks promising! I love crocodiles.
  11. I used Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.2.1.1043 for a long time instead of Malwarebytes Premium for Windows 3.5.1.2522. It worked without any problems but as we all know this version has not received definition updates for a long time now. That's why I uninstalled completely months ago.
  12. BTW, all about Malwarebytes was already discussed in this thread, too. More than once! For example here: Cheers, AstroSkipper
  13. Here is the original, still working download link of Malwarebytes Premium for Windows 3.5.1.2522: https://data-cdn.mbamupdates.com/web/mb3-setup-legacy/mb3-setup-legacywos-3.5.1.2522-1.0.365-1.0.5292.exe Malwarebytes Premium for Windows 3.5.1.2522 is the last XP-compatible version but I had problems to install it in my system as many others too. This is a pity as I have a lifetime premium license. Have a look into Malwarebytes's forum and you will see! Even their support could not help me in the end! I had these problems at that time when Avast was my antivirus program under Windows XP. As you know, I already uninstalled it, deleted all remnants of Avast and cleaned my system partition completely. Maybe, I'll give Malwarebytes Premium for Windows 3.5.1.2522 another try one day.
  14. ClamWin was already discussed here: The main problem is ClamWin does not have an own background guard and its detection rate is not that good.

  16. This announcement at the time was intended for existing business customers who still used Bitdefender on legacy operating systems. Bitdefender Free Antivirus under Windows XP was abandonded years before.
  17. thanks for the download link @AstroSkipper! You're welcome! I did a deeper research in terms of Comodo Antivirus under Windows XP one month ago.
  18. The last error-free, XP-compatible version is Comodo Antivirus 12.0.0.6818. The very last version targeting Windows XP seems to be Comodo Antivirus 12.2.2.8012, but it is reported to have some bugs in Windows XP. To be honest, I personally never liked Comodo Antivirus. Here is a download link of Comodo Antivirus 12.0.0.6818: https://web.archive.org/web/20190502052352/http://cdn.download.comodo.com/cis/download/installs/1000/standalone/cispremium_only_installer.exe It's an old installer, so it is only available by using the Wayback Machine. Cheers, AstroSkipper
  19. Here is the download link of the online installer which automatically downloads Panda Dome 22.00.00 offline installer with the size of 3,142,712 bytes here in Germany: https://repository.pandasecurity.com/Panda/FREEAV/193309/PANDAFREEAV.exe @VistaLover and me were offered different sizes of these installers. Maybe, due to our different locations, servers or whatever. All of that was already discussed in this post and the followings:
  20. That are my sizes of Panda Dome 22.00.00's online and offline installers:
  21. You probably got an older installer. Download the latest one!
  22. So my approximation equation wasn't so bad, was it?
  23. Simply said, poor and a no-go. But Moonbat got a very good reply from Sajadi. I am sure that Moonbat would have been warned by our moderators if he had posted something like that here. I assume his comment would have been deleted immediately.

  25. I have been using Panda Dome the last weeks and will stay with it. It works without any problems and is really lightweight. The RAM and CPU usage is very low. That's why I recommended it.
