Maybe the USB ports aren't able to handle so many devices at once? Could you download Unknown Device Identifier and check the exact Hardware ID of the sound card?
-
I think that it's all about personal preferences. For you these features may be a "must" but I'm sure that there are others who consider most of them bloatware Among those I myself would only only need two (sound & .NET Framework) to have a "fully functional" desktop experience.

Slipstreaming raid drivers Server 2003
tomasz86 replied to TRCJudge's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
If the drives are detected then it means that the driver itself has been integrated properly and does work. Are you sure that the hardware is 100% fine? It would be useful if you checked the installation with a different controller. -
I've tested again with 2.3.0.50 and it happens with both Free and Trial.

Slipstreaming raid drivers Server 2003

You may want to consider a HDD or USB based installation. It will save you a lot of time and money. Technically you should only need this: DOSNET.INF [Files] d1,dpti2o.sys TXTSETUP.SIF [SourceDisksFiles] dpti2o.sys = 1,,,,,,4_,4,1,,,1,4 [HardwareIdsDatabase] ; Adaptec I2O RAID Adapters PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0011044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0021044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0031044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0041044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0051044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C00A1044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C00B1044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C00C1044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C00D1044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C00E1044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C00F1044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0141044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0151044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0161044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C01E1044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C01F1044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0201044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0211044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0281044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0291044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C02A1044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C03C1044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C03D1044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C03E1044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0461044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0471044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0481044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0501044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0511044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0521044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C05A1044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C05B1044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A511&SUBSYS_C05F1044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0641044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0651044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A501&SUBSYS_C0661044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A511&SUBSYS_C0321044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A511&SUBSYS_C0331044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A511&SUBSYS_C0661044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A511&SUBSYS_C0341044 = "dpti2o" PCI\VEN_1044&DEV_A511&SUBSYS_C0351044 = "dpti2o" [SCSI.Load] dpti2o = dpti2o.sys,4 [SCSI] dpti2o = "Adaptec I2O RAID Adapters" [FileFlags] dpti2o.sys = 16 HIVESYS.INF [AddReg] ; Adaptec I2O RAID Adapters HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\dpti2o\Parameters",,0x00000012 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\dpti2o\Parameters\PnpInterface","5",0x00010003,1 Just copy "dpti2o.sys" to I386 (no need to use $OEM$). -
@Hackeronte You're right This is the FINAL statement: There will be a stable version of UURollup-v11... BUT it will be the last stable version of UURollup. It should be available at least in English and Italian. The planned release date is 24th November. What stage are you at now? I think I've found a way to easily share your UURollup folder so that I can check it and see what has to be done. Under this link there's a shared SkyDrive folder where anyone can upload files as long as they're logged in. If you've already got a Microsoft Account then you can just log in and upload your UURollup folder, if not then you should create a new account (I hope that it's not a problem for you) and then log in and upload the folder. It's good because this way you can upload files directly to my SkyDrive account. By the way, at the moment I've been testing a fully updated Win2k installation on my real hardware together with the newest drivers and I've found a bug in one of the updates (don't know yet which one). Basically speaking, when I integrate just USP5.1, UR2, UURollup (daily) and the newest IE Cumulative Update, and add the newest nVIDIA Graphic drivers then everything seems to work fine. On the other hand, when I integrate everything then there's a BSOD when trying to use hardware acceleration in any Web browser. It means that there is something wrong in one of the other updates. I'm investigating it right now.

I don't think that anyone needs so many cores at home But 4/8 cores are pretty common nowadays and there's really no reason not to use XP Home on such a system.
-
XP Home can actually support up to 32 cores
-
Yes but this particular case is kind of ridiculous. They keep releasing new updates for XP/2003 which require validation but you can't download them normally without using workarounds
-
But I did install Windows on that partition and it got "C:"... Before the change it was always getting "G:".
-
I've finally checked MIGRATE.INF and it seems to be possible to adjust partition letters manually which is useful as I first target WINN32.EXE to G: on my current system while later I want it to become C: in the newly installed one. I just changed this: HKLM,"SYSTEM\MountedDevices","\DosDevices\G:",0x030001,\ 67,c6,bc,28,00,7e,00,00,00,00,00,00 to HKLM,"SYSTEM\MountedDevices","\DosDevices\C:",0x030001,\ 67,c6,bc,28,00,7e,00,00,00,00,00,00

Maybe this?

I just meant that you should download and install the regular Realtek HD Drivers (there's only one version available). Try this link: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3 As for the WiFi card, I'm afraid that it may be impossible to use it under Win2k
-
@blackwingcat I'm trying to run SSD life but get this: Have you got any idea what the problem is? There's no such a function in MSVCRT.DLL.
-
No problem In case of your audio device I think that it's just Realtek HD Audio. Could you try to download the official drivers from here and try to install them through Device Manager? Intel Wireless 5100 doesn't support Win2k but I have modified the installer and the driver. Could you try to download it from the Archive (USP52 folder), unpack and just run the MSI installer file?
-
There's no driver for 2K and the one for XP refuses to work (at least on my system)

I've finally managed to compile the .NET Framework merged installed. It was more difficult than I expected it to be (especially .NET Framework 4.0 ) but I think that the result is more than satisfying. There are all .NET Frameworks starting from 1.0 up to 4.0 included in just one 83 MB archive (380 MB after installation). I'm not really going to release it separately as it's going to be included in USP 5.2 later but if anyone's interested then you can download it from the Archive (USP52 folder). As always, I'll be very thankful for testing. This .NET Framework installer requires USP5.1 (or SP4+UR1), UR2 and the newest daily version of UURollup-v11 to be installed in advance. The installation itself may take some time on a slower machine.

That's probably true. I just prefer more universal solutions As long as it's changeable then it doesn't really matter though.
-
Not on all keyboards as there are many with different layout (my laptop has only one Winkey on the right side) or there are old but still very usable keyboards (IBM Model M anyone?) which have no Windows keys at all. You can ignore my suggestions as I don't use Windows 8 but I think that having a shortcut which doesn't utilise Winkey might be more universal. In Windows there are two ways to open Start Menu using keyboard - Winkey or CTRL+ESC. Is there any reason not to have such two different combinations for Metro screen too?
-
If the same problem happens with nLite then it's not HFSLIP to cause this issue, is it? Could you show / upload an example of your script so that we could test it too?
-
I also use a free hosting (http://www.000webhost.com/) for my website and haven't experienced any problems with it. I don't think that it's worth paying for hosting in case of such a specialised website with <100 visitors daily (it's around 80 visits a day for my site and I doubt that more people visited win2kgaming).
-
You're right about HFGUIRunOnce. It supports MSI / EXE / CMD / REG / INF: Have you tried to add your custom scripts without anything else? Don't slipstream any updates, etc. Just add your scripts to a clean XP SP3 source, run HFSLIP and then try to install it.

Can you now change the resolution without problems?

Because there are many different adapters and the most popular (=cheap) ones are usually a piece of junk. Check this topic:

There are several INF files included in the archive, and "nvgd.inf" is the one for 9800M GTS. Something must be wrong because even I can choose 9800M GTS here although my card is completely different:
