  1. Original Topic found here
  2. If you already have the app installed, you wouldn't need to use the switch to install it. The switches are ways that we can install the software without having to click next and install and so on...
  3. If you feel strongly, you could always try emailing the software company and asking them. Thats the easiest way to find out IMHO. Personally, I don't see a problem, especially if its software I paid for. Freeware shouldn't pose a problem since its free. If you have software you didn't pay for that you are modifying, then I can definitely see a problem. Just my 2 cents.
  4. If its a small program, it shouldn't be too hard to recode. Granted its a pain, and its something you don't like to have to re-do, but if you need the program, its something that has to be done. Hopefully you have completed this program recently so how you wrote it is still pretty fresh to you.
  5. I've had this happen to many of my programs. All I have to say is: Have fun recoding it. Its pretty much impossible to find a program that will give you back YOUR code. There are some that will figure out what a program does, and RE-CODE it for you (usually not even in the correct programming language), but thats not very helpful.
  6. Edit your old responces, at least when others haven't responded. It looks much neater. And also, thanks for the contribution! You should upload the AU3 files in the AUTOIT section of the forum.
  7. I beleive if you install it once (unattended after XP is installed), you can just save the theme you are using via microsoft themes in the Display properties. I seem to remember doing it, but I do not remember if I did or not (it was originally for my girlfriend, but she quickly lost interest in coughdrops)
  8. On flyakite's web site in the DOWNLOADS section, he gives an example CDSHELL.ini file. If you didnt' see that, it might help. If you still need help, just ask!
  9. I don't beleive its possible. The reason for this is simple: WIN98 was a home OS. In the home enviornment, there is absolutely no reason to need to install an OS unattendedly (in the minds of the MS people anyways). XP and 2000 (NT???) are more along the lines of buisness operating systems, and therefore will need to be rolled out on dozens, perhaps even hundreds (or more) computers, all with different hardware. For this an unattended option is needed (or the poor saps who install the OS's would be very stressed and overworked). I have looked for 98 unattended options, and I don't think they exist. If you manage to find one, please post it, many of us would be interested. Silent installing programs can be done just as easily on a 98 installation, but it'll have to be installed after 98 is. Also, I beleive that for MSI files you need the msiexec, which does not come standard with 98.
  10. You are going to have to give us more information than that. When does this happen. Does XP install and this shows up afterwards? Does this show up before the installation begins? Make sure you include WINNT.SIF (REMEMBER, asterisk out your product key).
  11. You really don't need to make things quite so difficult. You can just make you UA-XP-CD install apps from the CD-ROM instead of the hard disc. Then you just make a different batch file (I use WIHU that references batch files), for each installation. The first batch file will be 1.) My original XP that installs the .NET framework silently and a few other helpful applications and files and so forth.... Hope this helps and I didn't misunderstand what you wanted.
  12. @Astalavista Why would T-13 be an XPLODE issue? @godzen As Astalavista said, all you have to do is install AUTOIT and then compile the script. It will become and EXE file, and hopefully you know how to run those.
  13. Would it be possible to copy the DELL stuff onto the XP PRO disc?
  14. If all you want is to goto the DOCS AND SETTINGS, use this: %AllUsersProfile%\..\ The ".." tells DOS to go 1 branch up, therefore C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\All Users becomes C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\
  15. Its listed on the MSFN unattended site that you should go by incriments of 5, so you can add programs to your disc w/o having to renumber everything. As for the programs not working well together, well, they must just glitch each other. Not really that big of a deal is it? You can just get off the web while your testing your disc and you won't be in any danger (correct me if i'm wrong). Personally, I don't bother with sims, I just load the disc and see if it works, but I guess I'm crazy that way.

    No more ? :-(

I love your program Benjamin. I have tried WPI, XPLODE, Ktool, W.A.I.T, and others, WIHU is the ONLY one that works properly and the way I want it to. I really hope you decide to change your mind. Not only is your program the best, you are a great devoloper, and even others using your source code, WIHU will never be the same.
  17. I would suggest Ryan's update pack. Works flawlessly (assuming you follow the instructions) and takes a lot less space on your XP CD than the /integrate method
  18. I've been using it for a few versions. Its great! Adds like 5 megs to your XP SP2 CD and has all the updates as of like 3 weeks ago. Ryan puts a LOT of time and effort into these discs and there are rarely any problems with them.
  19. @Simon Sorry about the misunderstanding You had me scared, I thought I was doing something completely wrong! OK, well, I'll have to keep tinkering with it and hope I can eventually get it to work properly. I'll try different combinations of extentions and see if maybe its an extention messing it up or something. UPDATE: Well, if I use your installer Simon, it works just fine (except it stops and asks if I want to copy a directory or a file). I don't understand why, but it works, and thats all that really matters. THANK YOU for all the help!
  20. All I did was copy the default profile from one installation of Firefox into the default profile of another installation of firefox. Isn't that the way that you are supposed to do it? On neither of these installations did I copy the information found in %appdata%\mozilla\firefox
  21. @simon First, thanks for the responce. I have managed to get it to keep some of the extentions, but it does not keep any of my custom settings. None of the extentions have their settings intact, and even firefox doesn't keep the settings ex... I always tell Firefox to open a new link in a new tab in same window ex2... Doesn't use the theme I selected as default in my default profile. I know when I downloaded Asta's profile, he has all these customized still, but for some reason it will not work for me. I don't know what I am doing wrong. As far as I can tell I am doing the same thing I did with FF1.0 and it worked then. If I mess with the default profile and then double click on the firefox.lnk, it will create a profile that works, BUT if I copy this default profile to a new FRESH installation of FireFox1.01, it either freezes, or doesn't have any customizations (sometimes extentions work, usually they don't). I have tried this many different times, on fresh installations of Firefox. I've tried about 10 times since I last posted.
  22. I have tried using the DEFAULT PROFILE method with FF1.01 and it no longer seems to work for me. I have started with a fresh installation of XP, and installed the new firefox. I then loaded up the default profile, and installed all my favorite extentions, customized things to my liking, and all that. I then went and copied the directory.I then reinstalled XP, and re-installed firefox. I pasted the previous default profile into the new installation and Firefox freezes. I have tried running the default profile and that freezes. I tried to run the firefox that creates a new user (double click the Firefox.lnk) and that freezes. No matter what I do I cannot seem to get it to work properly. Has anyone else had this problem? It worked just fine for me when I was using FF1.0
  23. Either one should be sufficient. There shouldn't be any spaces in the variables, so, you can use quotes if you want, or you can not use quotes if you would prefer. I personally always use quotes, just cause I feel its a good habit to get into, like pushin the clutch down when you brake, its not something thats always needed, but when it is need, it is important!
