you know im talking about counter strike : source? not Counter strike 1.6. My PC specfications are almost bottom of the barrel when it comes to the HL2 minimum specifications. if i remember right the minimum specs for HL2 are 1.5ghz CPU 256MB of memory DX7.0 video card Recomended I think is. 2.6ghz CPU 512MB of memory 256MB DX9.0 video card. the game apears to be more CPU limited than GFX limited though. even if i put all the video settings to LOW i still get the same Frames Per Second. ranging from 20-60 depending on the map DE_aztec seems to be the most demanding map im often down to 22-25FPS in gun fights on that map. most of the time my FPS stays above 40 when im running around and drops to around 35 in gun fights like on DE_cbble even in the wide open areas on that map. i think aztec is low FPS for me because it has quite alot of phsyics objects on that map like the oil barrels They are you can pre purchase HalfLife 2 on steam and get access to Counter strike : Source right away They have been doing that for almost a week now

my pc aint fast and i play cs:s and kill people with better machines than me. i only have an xp1800 ,512mb pc2100 and a radeon 8500 64mb. been playing at 1024x768 with most the settings on medium like the game suggests for my hardware.

i doubt there that hard to replace.

lol i would if my pc was even good enough to run it i remember when the last 3dmark came out there was a big thread with everyones scores and mine was one of the highest on the forum

sounds like a hardware conflict of buggy graphics card drivers to me. try moving one of your pci cards so there is a gap between agp and the 1st pci card. try moving your pci cards to different slots. i would guess your graphics card and sound card are sharing resources or something. if your sound card is directly below your agp card move it down a slot further so there is a free pci slot below the graphics card. dont know about more recent mother boards but some of the older ones the agp slot and pci 1 share resources more often that not. i really doubt its an OS problem could be that one of your ram sticks is borked aswell theres a dos program that you can use to check your ram but i cant remember what its called. im sure someone will reply with its name and download location. also make sure you have the latest drivers for your motherboard.

if you have all the creative software installed try uninstalling it all and then installing again but only install the drivers not the other crap. windows sound settings maybe conflicting with the creative one's. i know when i used to use the creative control panel thing windows used to have a habit of changing the windows sound settings from 5.1 to desktop speakers and often the wave output in the volume controls kept beeing turned down to half way and making some games sound like crap. other than that try a better software for playing your DVD's i dont know which is best but i like cyberlinks powerdvd.

the second part came out the other day so log back into steam and get the audio part of HL2 (972mb) , i bet theres going to be more to get after aswell

you could do that wiht normal PCI card's age's ago rich people used to buy 2x voodoo card's and link them with an sli cable. so its not really something new and innovative just something that has not been possible while GFX card's have been using AGP slot's of which mobo's only have one

i like the simpsons tv show but the game was just boring and very repetitive.

NFSU got boring quick been playing starwars kotor and gothic2 recently ,just waiting for my copy of FFXI to arive in the post then you wont hear of me playing any single player games for a long time

i tried chrome and thought it was boring after a few level's ,i got as far as the mission where you have to disable the sam site's and get inside the space station to steal some data (a code for some encrypted data i belive)

the ending is suposed to be different and more satisfying if you complete the game on the hardest difficulty setting

im not suprised the game is messed up after all it was going to be for pc then they decided to take the pc code and make it xbox code then they ported back to the pc wheres the logic in that?

I got the game today and I must say Im very impressed ,I didn't belive all the hype surounding this game as it usually just makes me feel disapointed when I eventually get my hand's on a game thats been really hyped up and it turn's out to be total crap. The graphic's are pretty good and the pixel shading effect's are really well done ,the physics engine completly put's other recent games to shame and the rag doll effect's on people you kill and yourself if you are unlucky are very nice looking and more believable than in most games. I've only played as far as the fourth level but the story line look's like its going to be better than the original game. i suggest anyone who liked max payne get there hand's on the sequel as soon as they can
