  1. 2Gb a month limit? that must suck considering a 56K User can get 8-10Gb a month
  2. Try this: Start > Run > regsvr32 /u c:\path\to\dxdgns.dll Modify C:\path\to\ to point to the location of dxdgns.dll Then try to delete the file.
  3. I never knew that was there! It's probably .NET Framework 1.0?
  4. http://www.MSFN.org/unattended/xp/applicat...ations/nero.htm It's only one key that needs to be imported this time.
  5. I thought C&C Generals was absolutely crap. It no longer had the C&C feel on it like the previous games did in the series so it felt like I was playing something completely different. **** you EA Pacific for taking over Westwood Studios . tbh, C&C Generals says "EA's spreading its evil arms of innovation again" all over it.
  6. Me and FthrJACK (both of us British) founded MSFN in August '01, xper from Denmark came along to help with hosting, and became the server admin. We never intended the site to be for a specific country, but worldwide. But we do encourage that everyone speaks English only as we can't have extra forums in different languages, it would make a very long Board Index.
  7. I think I know what you mean, I remember saying something about the /n switch about a month ago and was probably wrong in what I said.
  8. wow, everyone's confused. Not using the /n switch means backups of original files are stored on the hard disk, and hotfix entries will show in Add/Remove Using the /n switch stops backups being made, so you cannot uninstall the hotfixes at a later date, also the reason for Add/Remove not showing any of these hotfix entries. Some of the updates using /Q:A /R:N will appear in Add/Remove regardless. Hope that clears it up.
  9. Yeah, why?
  10. Don't use the /n switch if you want backups and entries in add/remove. As always, using qfecheck is the best tool to verify the installation of hotfixes, not Add/Remove.
  11. Wasn't that hard to find: http://download.mcafee.com/us/eval/platfor...Scan_retail.gif By the way, warez talk isn't allowed on this board.
  12. I don't see what this has to do with forum signatures? Moved to Wallpapers and Icons
  13. If you did them in alphabetical order it would all start with Q anyway... Windows Explorer will sort the list for you when you view the hotfixes by name.
  14. Messenger uses ports 6891 - 6899 for file transfer, check to see if they're allowed through.
  15. DirectX9-KB819696-x86-ENU.exe = Q819696.exe or KB819696.exe WindowsMedia8-KB817787-x86-ENU.exe = Q817787.exe or KB817787.exe (not to be run from svcpack) WindowsMedia9-KB819639-x86-ENU.exe = Q819639.exe or KB819639.exe NDP10_SP_Q321884_En.exe = Q321884.exe If msjavwu.exe and vbs56nen.exe are coloured icons, its most likely to work with /Q:A /R:N. If in doubt, run a /? on them. As for the DirectX patch, its better to visit the knowledge base article on 819696, and get the correct download link from there.
  16. AFAIK, Automatic Updates is only showing Critical Updates, but then I cannot know for sure because all my AU clients are linked to my local SUS Server rather than the Internet. SUS Server only covers Critical Updates for the time being.
  17. Is it possible that removing the Name and cdkey entries in winnt.sif will prompt Setup to ask for those?
  18. yep, Setup will take a little more longer if you're going to be installing hotfixes via svcpack. It did mention this in the guide...
  19. Add UnattendSwitch="yes" to [unattended]
  20. It is in ref.chm, here's a description on what it does: Specifies whether to install AutoUpdate. Syntax AutoUpdate = On | Off Values: On Installs AutoUpdate. Off Does not install AutoUpdate AutoUpdate is referring to the Automatic Updates Client, which you would find in System Properties.
  21. Good You can delete unattend.bat, its to tell setup where to locate the answer file (winnt.sif), but cd-rom drive letters can differ when used on another PC other than your own.
  22. What's inside unattend.bat?
  23. Everything that is in $OEM$\$1 gets copied over to the hard drive during text-mode setup, so $OEM$\$1\Install becomes C:\Install. But the $OEM$ copying won't take effect when you have "OemPreinstall=No" in winnt.sif, so change it to Yes. btw, you said you read over the tutorial 10 times, I find it hard to believe you missed that bit on the bottom of http://www.MSFN.org/unattended/xp/winnt_sif.htm
  24. only thing is, it doesn't work... :/
  25. What was we using it for?
