  1. Thanks, posted. We never cover news on OSs other than Windows, but this one will be an exception.
  2. Welcome everyone!
  3. There's about 150-170 MB of free space on the XP CD if you use 700mb CDs, You can increase this by removing the Support and Docs folders in the root. You might be able to get the McAfee files off the CD and put it on your XP CD, might be in a folder called Setup and its probably all you will need. The other folders sometimes just have extra stuff like IE6, or demos to other products.
  4. Its the way life goes, technology moves on quickly. Nice rant though
  5. I never knew his full name, just Steve.
  6. To get the default configcache.cml xml file back, move your edited configcache.xml file elsewhere and then sign in to MSN Messenger so it downloads a new copy.
  7. Who's Steve Irwin? Related to Dennis Irwin, the man utd defender by any chance?
  8. I have a part time job too. In my spare time I post news and make updates here and there to the site, only cos I have nothing better to do
  9. haha, ran the test twice didn't you Crispy? It loads the data from the cache 2nd time around, hence your 273 Mpbs
  10. all of it can be copied into Notepad and saved as anyname.reg (NOT anyname.reg.txt) Do you understand these registry tweaks? If not don't bother doing it.
  11. The thought of Vanilla Coca Cola just makes me wanna puke!
  12. heh, not my idea, required a lot of research though! Its already being used by large companies that easily need to deploy Microsoft Windows and software on several PCs. It could possibly catch on for Home users with several PCs soonish, especially the lazy ones
  13. don't agree, i've tried xp for very long and i got very surprised with the stability then i rolled back to 2k en i must say I'm disappointed with the so often called "MS's most stable SO" it's slow, my cd's take WAY MUCH longer to record en the games run a lil bit slow i know i haven't a great pc but on XP its v good Note that I said although, not for everyone... So some are unlucky than others.
  14. That's some messy CSS code you got there! Paste in the <head> area of the code: <style type="text/css"> body { font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px; color: #000000; } a:visited {color: #808080; text-decoration: none; } a:link {color: #000000; text-decoration: none; } </style> Then make more modifications as you wish
  15. Should be a direct download link, at least it was for Windows Server 2003.

    Add GigaBytes!

20gb is probably unallocated free space, reallocate it back to your existing partitions.
  17. Its already been answered at http://www.MSFN.org/board/index.php?act=ST&f=8&t=6375

    Dvd-rom drive

if your DVD-ROM is on a secondary IDE cable, uninstall the drivers for Secondary IDE Controller and reboot, it will reinstall itself.

    hello!

    lo, hope you enjoy MSFN!
  20. Moved to Software Hangout
  21. We can't really help you if you don't tell us the exact error, and the operating system you're using. Being specific and giving more information does help.
  22. Microsoft changed the APIs in Messenger 6, making it a lot difficult for Patchou to make a new MsgPlus version for it. But since then its looking more hopeful now. You'll have to wait though!
  23. I ain't sure if the Win2k trial will allow Service Pack installations. Maybe someone else can verify this.
