Maybe he's PC goes slow because of limited system resources. Every Windows 98 has that problem. Try disabling some startup items. The less programs you run in taskbar, the faster Windows 98 will run. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and end tasks to as much programs as you can, except for Explorer.

Yes, you can install it, but then you won't have space to install anything else. So you would just have Windows 98 on that flashdrive and nothing else.

Oh, i just figured out! After you install Windows, there is a logon screen. Now hear: If you type a usernam and password, Windows will save it for the next time. To avoid that , just press Esc or Cancel and it will not prompt you for loggon next time you start Windows. P.S. im taking over the forum

Oh, so you dont have Windows installed and you want to install it? Ok, then when PC starts , enter BIOS (press delete to enter) , go to Advanced BIOS Features, and select CD-ROM as "First Boot Device". Save (press F10) , then bypass BIOS and PC will ask you what CD to activate. Activate your Windows CD and start installing! Good luck! P.S. Im taking over the forum

I dont know if i understood it right, but if you want to cancel the NORMAL logon, go to My Computer, Control Panel, Users . Then delete the usernames if you dont want to log in each time you start WIndows. But maybe it's something else...

You said it cant find Win 98 CD- Insert CD, and just press different letter for example D:\win98 or E:\win98 . By the way, all hardware that has to have USB connection, must have USB driver on their CD's.

You can just install Windows 98 SE. Every program that works on XP, works on 98, except for desktop customizing tools because it has different start menu
