  1. while it is seemingly possible to make a machine that will output more energy than was input it will in fact be stealing energy from either the environment or some component of the machine. in this example the machine requires input energy and then acts like a fly wheel accelerated by magnets, the problem is the magnets are inputting a limited amount of energy and will eventually need to be replaced.

  3. I am using XnView (free open source) as my image viewer and I can still view thumbnails in explorer (although xnviews browser is faster). It shows psd files fine but svg requires a plugin. http://www.xnview.com/
  4. I really want that feature as well, although using network shares works good.
  5. Nirsoft does not have a password tool for Microsoft Money. If you go with Passware you should not need the full kit only the "Money Key" program http://www.lostpassword.com/money.htm Another popular password recovery suite is made by Elcomsoft http://www.elcomsoft.com/aopr.html BTW these programs work using "brute force" so it could take a long time to recover. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brute-force_search
  6. For Firefox 2.x.x.x open Tools>Options>Advanced>Network>Settings>Choose either "Direct connection to the Internet" or "Auto-detect proxy settings for this network".

  11. What OS are you using, XP or Vista? Does the audio desync from the video or does it stay in sinc and just skip or lag? Does this only affect streaming media or everything? Please give us more details about your computer and the media you are trying to play.

  14. Only idea I have is AutoIt and AutoHotkey. http://www.autoitscript.com/ http://www.autohotkey.com/
  15. Many programs, including µTorrent, are packed to save filespace and/or deter reverse engineering. You must unpack the the binaries before you can edit their resources. Fortunately µTorrent uses UPX (foss) which can be unpacked by running "upx -d utorrent.exe". http://upx.sourceforge.net/ But editing the binary is unecessary imo in this case, µTorrent lets you place ico files in its settings directory or program folder when run in portable mode to change the main icon, tray icon, and also supports custom bmps for toolbars etc. You can also change the icon a shortcut to the program uses. This is preferable imo because it will save you work each time µTorrent is updated. http://www.utorrent.com/faq.php

  19. same, but its worth it imo. hopefully it will be optimized more in the near future if possible, otherwise Vista does improve on this behavior.
  20. OT But I think MS hired Mark Russinovich primarily to get him under their control before Vista was released, not just because he made/makes excellent tools
  21. Microsoft should hire this guy, that bug drives me crazy! I tried it and it really works, I use the tray for a lot of apps so I might keep this on!
  22. you only need to match the memory if you want to use "Dual Channel" if your motherboard supports it. Otherwise a pair of different memory will just run at the speed of the slowest module. you computer is probably underclocking itself to save power and reduce heat if you are not doing anything intensive; your cpu "core speed" is probably also at 50%.
  23. Ive been using this for a while, originally saw it as an addon at the ryanvm forums. However I did not know it has since been updated! :-) As for your question the registry settings are stored here: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JOConnell\DeskTop
  24. some things that concern me: it looks like you are running an Apache server and IIS, is that intentional? what version of ZoneAlarm are you using?
  25. I am guessing the HDD, if it was software you should still be able to move the mouse and just end whatever process is causing the lag. run this tool: Western Digital Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows http://support.wdc.com/download/windlg/WinDLG.zip It should work on your Seagate, it works on my Samsung drives.
