  1. Yes, hjsuffolk14's service pack (22MB) seem to be lost along with the whole topic here. Last week I tried problemchilds UWMESP3.EXE Beta 5 (size 67,2MB). I enabled the main updates in the in the infex.ini, but the Pack was unusable for me. A lot dll files were missing during installation, and afterwards ME wasn't bootable anymore. Obviously the Main updates aren't finished and are for logical reasons disabled. hjsuffolk14's service pack is much smaller, but OK.
  2. What 2K/XP/Vista/ReactOS dll files and versions do you have in the system or system32 folders? Have you registered any? Or only a ServicePack? Is there anything that could be different in your system in contrast to others? A special Kexstub.ini? No ideas?
  3. This version requires Kext and at least msvcrt.dll of ME, better msvcr70.dll.
  4. First April s over. I tried to disable Javascript in Prefs.js (user_pref("javascript.enabled", false);). And I still can't start FF 24esr (portable). Message: Couldn't load XPCOM. I'm sure there must be more to do than set Kex to XPSP3.
  5. There are five backups by default listed by date. A backup is user.dat, system.dat and system files like system.ini and win.ini. It's possible to add more by scanreg.ini.
  6. A system reset had often helped me out of a tight spot: At DOS Prompt (F5) change direction from A: to C:. Type: C:\windows\Command\scanreg /restore , and choose a backup.
  7. Phantom Floppy? => try disable legacy usb support in BIOS
  8. Try to reinstall the msi: Rename in safe mode msihnd.dll, MSI.DLL and msiexec.exe. Reboot and install 2.0.2600.2 again. My files are set to Legacy Base enhancements (MSI.DLL and msiexec.exe ) and msihnd.dll to default comp options.
  9. There are fifteen files inside the installer.
  10. Both versions are available on originaldll.com: Unicode - http://originaldll.com/file/msiexec.exe/20500.html 9x/ME: http://originaldll.com/file/msiexec.exe/20487.html
  11. The file size of my msiexec is 83456 bytes. ( 26 January 2002 - 2.0.2600.2) http://originaldll.com/file/msiexec.exe/20487.html As far as I remember it is the one that was offered by MS for Win ME.
  12. As I said only a few apps or installer can be fooled with it, also on ME/98SE. Most programs also check the OS elsewhere.
  13. Open the Registry and create a new string value: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion] "CurrentVersion"="5.1" That applies to ME/98SE (KernelEx) and probably for 95, too. It might work for a few apps, but usually it makes no sense and leads to problems or crashes. I do not recommend that.
  14. Make sure you have Core Updates 4.5.2016.18 or higher. Don't use update 17. Otherwise maybe a missing dll.
  15. thanks! what about Marvell cntrls? there was big problem - ahci driver make system unbootable if found any Marvell... its ver 3.0, which i already has tested. problem remain... I tried the AHCI Driver 3.0 on a Asus P5B (i P965/ICH8) three weeks ago. Afterwards ME wasn't bootable anymore. But, it was just one test so far. I plan to have a closer look soon. It might be that I had done something wrong.
  16. A little feedback: Today I updated to 24 on a second machine. New problems have not yet occurred, however so far I haven't done extensive program tests.
  17. Do I have the correct download? The file WSSLWRAP.EXE has the same checksum FB4B650DD7A7AFD2E694F8500EEC0AB6 as before, no new file dates (December 2018) and no new entry in the changelog. ???
  18. Pity! Google turned off the servers for all versions prior version 7! https://support.google.com/earth/thread/3382400?hl=en https://support.google.com/earth/thread/3321000?hl=en
  19. It has been a while...Sorry, I did not take enough time to look into winsslwrap. The string 'useHTTPSForGoogle' doesn't exist here. Yesterday I was back to GE 7.0.2. Basically it runs useful on my above mentioned computers, but not always stable and perfect. If no new images are loaded click sign out and in again - File>Server Sign Out (in). After close the computer isn't accessible. After one or two minutes you can work on. needed/used dll's: WinHttp.dll ... here XPSP3 5.1.2600.5727 DbgHlp.dll ... XP 5.1.2600.2180 and alternatively 5512 ( user32.dll 4.90.3001 and IpHlpApi.dll 4.90.3001.0 presumably no relevance ) nvopengl.dll of Nvidia driver 82.16 required/used: Nvidia driver: 82.16 or 82.69 Jumpers latest core update's 19 - 23 and core.ini 20i - DecodePointer (Kexbases) and surely more ... More dll's of possible relevance found by DependencyWalker: In my systemfolder of the IntelG41machine: dll's of IE6SP1; MSVCR70; AppHlp XP; Authz XP; CertCli; DNSApi XP; ImageHlp 5.0.2195.6613; NetRap XP; Netui0 XP; Netui1 XP; NtdsApi XP; NtLanMan XP; SamLib ReactOS ; W32topl XP;
  20. Changing Video output from automatic to DirectX (Direct Draw) fixed my errors on VLC exit. Latest: VLC 3.0.8. Yes, setting Base(Kexbases,Kexbasen) on nvopengl.dll works, too!
  21. about:config or opera:config => UserPrefs => Custom User-Agent
  22. Thanks for the update. jumper, is it your intention or more a bug, that we must change the KernelEx mode for some apps from default to Base (Kexbases,Kexbasen) or Legacy Base enhancements with regard to the error "...missing export Kernel32.dll: IsProcessorFeaturePresent"? Does this remain now? Goodmaneuver, I have not been able to fix the Vlc errors on exit yet. I think, that your msvcrt is the renamed MSVCR.80.dll 8.0.31113.25 or not? Like I said, I don't get these errors with KerneEx 4.5.2
  23. I use MSVCR.70.dll 7.0.9981.0 as msvcrt.dll. I'll test your version 8.0...... soon.
  24. I think it has to do with the KernelEX update and it isn't caused by ReactOS files. Probably jumper has changed a lot inside KernelEX. Many compatibility modes are introduced. Changing the modes fixes the problem here. "IsProcessorFeaturePresent" is still supported, but you must set Windows 2000 or higher! Try "Legacy Base enhancements", if Win2000+ works incorrectly.
