  1. my player can technically play more then just MP3, its using the Windows Media Player Control so if i made the height of the player bigger you could actually see the video, it would just be a matter of having the correct codecs. as for perferring foobar, everyone has their own prefrence I personally like winamp over foobar and while i could Use winamp for doing this unattended audio player its a memory hog and requires some registry changes. and does some filetype changes..
  2. VB can... I have done this about 10 years ago in turbo pascal too A tiny block of code with a msgbox Command$ isn't hard to do (and then shell the "real" exe) I'm not installing VB.Old, you can have the fun doesn't Command$ return the command switch that was used in starting your program??? i've been looking into this for about 2 hours, and can't find any programs or source code examples that can actually get the list of command line options from another program...
  3. why not just make your own folder on the CD...?
  4. oh didn't think 3 sticks of 256 as mst of the mainboards i've seen only have 2 DDR and 2 SDRAM.. unless your using 2 of 1 type and 1 of another type.
  5. go google!!
  6. well... this may require C++ programming cause i don't think Visual Basic can read the switches. i'll do some research and see what i can find. just though of my last post lol. and thats only dos programs. so i'll see what i can dig up.
  7. maybe a stupid idea, but you may want to take out a stick of memory. you have a 512 and a 256, if they're not at the same Speed they may conflict with one another. just try it. i had issues with my memory (512 and a 128) took out the 128 and computer stopped crashing games and prorams.
  8. *Removed by Bi0haZarD* <--- moron.. lol
  9. remeber kids... the number 1 cause of divorce is marriage.
  10. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Highl...G=Google+Search didn't search that hard... a simple search in google got the results. and you should watch your mouth... This is a site for support, not to hear how you can't find something. nobody is getting paid here. as for putting more energy into replying.. how can you say that when you didn't even try searching for it on google. /flame off
  11. yea, just unplug the power to the second hard drive and do the reinstallation.
  12. @prathapml very good instructions lol. i remeber making my bootable windows 95 CD and it was like 3 pages long. @jaclaz i don't understand what your saying.... its the same as booting from a floppy. the windows registry and everything on the C drive will be able to be written as the CD doesn't modify that. the only thing you can't change is the CD. but you shouldn't ever have to delete soemthing or modify something on the CD.
  13. hard to take a screenshot of it if its hidden dont ya think There is a way to run the player in the system tray, and double clicking the icon brings it up to normal size. in the settings.ini file theres a line called "Startinsystemtray" and setting that to 1 will run it in the system tray when ran. What it looks like when ran in the system tray.... *not a very impressive screenshot though lol.*
  14. easy to do.. the shut down screen is I believe IO.sys or maybe thats the startup screen, can't remeber but you can open it in paint and draw whatever you want. Used to do this at school lol, drove the teacher crazy lol. the rest is all just Registry changes, and using a tool called Resource hacker. *btw... who would want to "hack" windows 98 anyways.. LOL*
  15. yeap, thats what i do when i need the setup.exe from something like that. Good Luck
  16. these both work IF the person doesn't mind Media Player Classic or Foobar 2000 to be installed, I personally hate both of them and thats where my program comes in. it can be run from the install folder and when its time to clean up it gets deleted and nothing left behind and no registry changes done. And if you install something like Media Player Classic or Foobar 2000 and the person doesn't like it if they remove it there maybe some FileType screw ups.. not sure how both of them handle that though.. This is what UAP2.0 looks like as of now
  17. kk, good luck. i'll do a bit of research to see if i can find anything in about 30 minutes B) hope ya get it working
  18. I just watched The empire Strikes Back last night and was still shocked on the quality, mind it being from the 80's.
  19. kk, i'll bundle pskill with my executable now, i don't think Systernals would have any problems with it since it's freeware anyways anyone that doesn't want to use pskill can just remove it and use taskkill or tskill. Version 2.0 progress 1. I have added Support for ini files 2. The play list is a max of 20 songs right now i'm sure thats more then enough but can easily add more if anyone thinks that should be increased. 3. in the settings.ini file i have put in an option for Start in SystemTray, so it will start by the system clock. 4. the first track detected is played no matter how many blank spots are before it... (example: you put an mp3 for track15, but the first 14 are blank, it will detect that and play track 15 when ran.) 5. Playlist will loop and autoadvance to the next track, so if you have 5 songs it'll loop 1-5 -> 1-5 and so on... 6. Simple Naming.. (actually is was confusing as hell to code lol) in the settings.ini file you specify the name of the track.. example "Metallica - Master of Puppets" would show up, insted of c:\my music\rock\metallica\metallica - MoP.mp3.. or whatever you have it named..
  20. ZoneAlarm Firewall maybe or just unplug the internet lol
  21. hmm... drivers wouldn't help cause drivers aren't yet initialized when the "press F8 to agree" thing comes up... and if theres one for abort, does that key work. i think its F10... only thing i can think of is its keyboard problem, but you say it works fine in windows programs.. so i'm not to sure about this.
  22. so if it works from the shortcut then it is as i suspected just a problem with the Run shortcut *screenshot above* if ya send me the Path to the msconfig.exe i'll make a reg key so you can get it back in the run box.
  23. definently sounds like power supply problems to me.. I wouldn't mind finding that computer in the garabge.. have an extra 15 gig hard drive.. nice find..
  24. funny story lol. i did a similar thing.. but i put a password and a porn site on Frys Electronics computers lol.
  25. READ THE RULES! As for changing his username, i see nothing wrong with it... he is expressing his religion.
