if you integrate a lot of hot fixes and such it does take awhile to complete. i have seen instances in my case where it takes 3 hours or so to complete, that was integrating hot fixes and IE8 in my case.
I found this . . . I tried it and the SP2 installer doesn't complain about missing components any more, I haven't installed yet, I want to make an image first just incase something nasty happens i will try this tonight after work and report back
i just finished downloading a full 64 bit version of vista with service pack 2 integrated and was able to use vlite to integrate IE8 and remove some stuff i did not want. worked fine, will be installing it when i find the time to do it
i did the same thing as you and ran into the same exact problem. you can either hope for nuhi to come back or somebody else makes a slipstream utility or download a full retail version with service pack 2 already integrated.
what he is asking for will be on the DVD made by vlite. open it up and look for file named last session. there will be 2 of them, DO NOT post the one with your key for vista if you did an unattended setup. post the contents of the one that has the things you removed and so forth
