Yes, that's exactly what it does. Find them and let firefox install them the way they should be (firefox does the installing) @Diabolical82 Honestly, I don't know. I don't like RunOnceEx (it couldn't do what my main install script does anyways) but I'd try putting these command lines in a .bat or .cmd and starting that batch from it? (I'm a GUIRunOnce fan)

I'm sure it was answered a few times already before as well... /silent works for me first things to try if you don't know the switches (before even searching) is trying the usual few (/s /S /silent and such). 95% of the time you'll find it in no time (other than the installshield or msi, which are rather obvious)

MySQL question
CoffeeFiend replied to aresgodofwar's topic in Web Development (HTML, Java, PHP, ASP, XML, etc.)
Anyone knows? It's just a matter of narrowing down where ipb stores the data then making a simple sql query for it. If you really absolutely need it, then I can try to have a peek sometime soon (don't have ipb installed...) -
List Your Best *Stand Alone* Programs 4 Windows XP
CoffeeFiend replied to phillyman2004's topic in Windows XP
It depends for what purpose... I do use a ton of "standalone apps" like that (that I just "install" by putting in $OEM$\$Progs and adding a shortcut to them) yet none of them have been mentionned so far.. Like <SparTacuS> mentionned, the list could be very, very long. a couple of them on top of my head: winhttrack putty mirc zoom player avipreview radlight filter manager graphedit ... (TONS more I'm sure) -
Floppy Disks, gone or completely forgotten?
CoffeeFiend replied to knight_dkn's topic in Hard Drive and Removable Media
I use WinImage a lot too and burn them with nero, but sometimes when i can't find a cdrw and don't want to waste a cdr for it - then i dig the floppy out. Mind you I'd probably be better off just wasting the cdr anyways than waste my time bothering to find the old drive in the basement, open the case, plug it, etc (waste close to an hour to save a CD worth about a whole quarter...) The only bad thing is you can't save old bios images to the cdr(w) like you could on a floppy but usually it's a non issue. Either ways I haven't touched my floppy drive in well over a year. More often than not I'll just use by bootcd and read the flasher & image over a network share, fat32 partition (or use ntfsdospro as a last resort). No bad flashes yet either -
It's about the only one I don't trust. I'd loose some serious sleep over it They once were good... 10 years ago, erm, wait - even back then there was much better
-
Not sure if it can be done from the command line, but it's possible to do it in vbscript with WMI. Chances are there might be 3rd party utilities that do it too.

Yes, definately can't go wrong here. I'm ordering 2 dozen before the special is over

@drthawhizkid you're welcome, it's really nothing at all... @Nologic (if you're still reading this) Yes, it is about AutoIt, but not feelings. Things DO happen to go wrong with it every now and then. As for the hang, it's not a coder experience issue (I code for a living...) but a CloneCD isntaller glitch in this case that caused it (unless you can write a script that can handle all unexpected errors that never occured before). I just came across another one that needs and extra tab *sometimes* (not on all PCs) go figure... I find AutoIt nice so you can automate things that are sometimes a mess to repack, and it can select every options you want in the setup (most unattended methods install with default options only). But AutoIt errors do happen. As for my syntax, I don't know why you still say it's broken. You're the first and only report I get of it not working. It's worked very reliably on my home PCs, my friends' PCs and even PCs at work. (No delay required or implemented in any way whatsoever either - and I use long file names all the time) I just can't see it as "broken" (close to 100 PCs now and no errors yet, on 2K Pro and XP Pro mostly, just about any hw config, and no probs encountered yet) As for the leaving, well, I understand your position. It's your decision and something I cannot do a thing about. Sorry to see you go away, hopefully things get better for you...

Future of unattended Installation
CoffeeFiend replied to tron's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I don't think things are going to change too much in the near future. Perhaps some crappy installers might move on to .msi or NSIS or similar and make things a bit easier. There's many ways to install software (isntaller dependant switches/ways), repackaging, autoit, ... There's tons of tools to help get the job done and deploy apps. We're making good progress in terms of deployability, but I just can't see any major changes coming -
I always settle for the easiest way (and preferably fool proof way) to do things. During an update the help, includes, plugins and updates directory contents can be updated. I just update it on a PC, then make a copy of those on the install disc. After installing the app, I overwrite the contents of all those subfolders with the updated ones included on the disc. So far so good

I usually google for reviews and more often than not, you end up finding decent ones. Mobile phone wise... I've never seen either, don't know if there are many differences. Personally, I hardly use my cell phone (most of the time I don't even bother charging the battery...) Just more stuff to lug around for nothing. There are some new and nice GSMs, but I'm waiting for the day where I have a use for one first.
-
It's mostly a matter of preferences... (I don't like winamp for video either) There's tons of decent players out there for everyone (ZoomPlayer, BSPlayer, Media Player Classic, ...) I guess we just can't all pick the same

Can my IIS host my own dot.com
CoffeeFiend replied to shuntang's topic in Server - Side Help (IIS, Apache, etc.)
...too bad most cable and DSL don't provide static IPs - nor enough upstream bandwidth for a few users By the way, there are some companies a la dyndns that provide DNS services, even if you have a dynamic IP (with a client app that updates the IP every so often). It works well but it's no help for the bandwidth problem (even with gzip and all, you can only accomodate so many visitors at once) -
There's no need for that Let's just not take things personally and attack each other and life goes on? You just can't quit every time you run across someone with a different opinion or anything... Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying AutoIt is useless either.

V5 and 6 sure were getting that way. v7 imho isn't. It's as fast as 2.44 on my PC making thumnails and viewing my 5mb JPEGs, and has a TON more features. 2.44 misses so much features for the average photog that it's not even an option anymore, even if it's faster than v5/6. v7 rocks (If you just use it for quickly viewing pr0n, I suppose 2.44 is okay )

Floppy Disks, gone or completely forgotten?
CoffeeFiend replied to knight_dkn's topic in Hard Drive and Removable Media
a flo... what? I don't have one in any of my systems anymore. As for bootdisk, I got a custom bootcd (heavily modded bart bootdisk...) and even then, it seems everyone is moving to WinPE instead. I still got one kicking in the basement, for those times where I have to use a bios flasher in dos, in which case I plug it for the 5 minutes it takes and then take it out after. (and I could get away without it easily) I mean, we got networks shares, email, (well, all kinds of networked ways to xfer stuff), writeable cd/dvd media, usb(2) memory sticks and hard drives and everything else... Definately no need for a floppy imho. -
Sort of funny, because I install WiMP9 on my system (for completedness I suppose?) but I really despise it, I hate it with a passion. Worst and most useless player I've ever seen imho. Although 10 is ok to me (not like I'll use it - but it's not as bad). DRM is here to stay, with most companies, they intend to make money with selling contents on the web... DRM is actually gonna make it's way in more and more software over the years (just like it did in ZoomPlayer WMV Pro lately) or else they wonèt play the users' bought online stuff (which is becoming increasingly popular).

It's no mistake, it's humour (or sarcasm?). Someone wants to make a point I guess. The only difference in the title are "Commercial" and "Multi User License"...
-
Funny how expensive a Commercial mouse with a Multi User License can get... Check it out The Mouse (It was posted at the bottom of a not very visited thread that's way down a page now - and not in the Funny Farm either... Sorry if anyone has already seen it!)
-
I use v7 too, and have not experienced any of that... Sorry.

How to remove WinRAR in programs?
CoffeeFiend replied to atlas95's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
On my system, it only installs for the current user, so it would be %UserProfile% instead of %ALLUSERSPROFILE%. Other than that it looks fine. (if there's anything I speak french too) -
Del "%AllUsersProfile%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Adobe Reader Speed Launch.lnk"
-
That's what I do as well (but to another group as if I move every other odd app to accessories, it gets filled way fast). I also unassociate .jar files (so ProjectX runs instead of open with WinRAR...)
-
Thanks So it doesn't work just for me either... As for installing firefox, I use SiMoNsAyS' method (a bit simplified, as it's always gonna be on the C drive and on an english system and all...)
