  1. The ASUS P4GPL-X is one of few, but there are more mobos based on the iNTEL 915PL.
  2. E6600 or Q6600. If it’s an E6600 how does it perform better then a higher clocked E6750?
  3. Ow boy, a feel little kids are jumping on me here. Did I do something wrong?
  4. There is not much to replace and you don’t need to be a genius for this . Take out the blue cartridge and take a look at its green roller (keep it out of UV light as much as you can, and only for a short period) and you will see it’s damaged somehow or something got stuck on it. Don’t touch the roller by the way...
  5. How does an object's position modify it's surface ? * Top surface that is . Nice try but at 7200 rpm you will have to much turbulation to have any difference in temperature at all. Check it for your self, temp underneath the cooler, temp on top of the cooler...
  6. Looks like the fuser is damaged by something, replacing the damaged toner cartridge will resolve your problem.
  7. Horizontal would give more surfaces to cool, as in "all heat goes up", only thing I can think about. Same with CPU coolers, Horizontal would be better. Naa, to slingshot a rotating object you need a force-point on the rotating object that points outwards the center and gets larger, bigger or what ever. Problem is that you get a dead point in rotation that needs to be compensated, like a drive stain (crank) from a bicycle. By the way, don’t pay attention what the factory says, that just to sell more dives after warranty periods . Platters are thick and heavy indeed, so they maintain continues speed easier then a lightweight plate, like the flight-wheel on a car-engine, lighter will stall the engine faster but spins up, revs, faster. (And that’s NO joke! ).
  8. No, it’s for removable media also, like Flash devices .
  9. No, that’s for all storage in general (there are some exceptions).
  10. ... I wish I can do that when I´m old and shaking, hahaha...
  11. Nice one, I thought it would end different .
  12. Normally a modem/router would be addressed on 192.168.0.1 / 192.168.0.100 / 192.168.100.0 or so, just type these addresses in your browser window and see if a menu shows up...
  13. You have a WebStar Dpc2100 modem that acts as a router so you could look into the menu from your router and see if there is a firewall enabled. Also Windows has a firewall build in that can be enabled. I would try to disable those 2 and see how it goes from there. Personally I prefer "hardware" firewalls over software firewalls...
  14. I’m sure they also want to know the cable modem model number as well. I can’t find that on the http://www.rcn.com/internet/index.php website... Is windows firewall enabled?
  15. So your system is fast enough. I was wondering this because some people have problems when they are installing Firewall software on AMD K6 300MHz or PII 233MHz systems for example. Can’t help you with your problem trough…
  16. Okay, then it makes sense to me again. There must be something that has modified your documents, try a good antivirus program and scan the data drive...
  17. Looks like your computer is too slow to filter the in- and outgoing data; can you give us some info on OS and computer system please?
  18. Techarp just came with some info about SkullTrail.
  19. You must be kidding me? They even sell shocks and tires for cars here and have about 30 models of laptops and desktops stalled out... By the way, food on the table; You still have to cook , we are not only talking about nuke-able (microwave) stuff .
  20. ATi supports up to Radean 9800 on there site. If nVidia supports 6800 series cards I would look at a 6800xt, they are dirt-cheap these days and most of them can be unlocked to 16/6 shaders (normaly they have 8/4 shaders).
  21. That doesn’t make sense at all; the only thing changed in your configuration is time... Are you restoring only one drive of few drives?
  22. I see that wikipedia somehow is getting more and more popular, it could take some time to find the right stuff on Google sometimes while in wiki you go directly to the point were you want to be. If I want to know more about chipsets for example I jump first to wiki and if that don’t satisfy me I will use Google. Don’t get me wrong, Google is still THE homepage on my machines .
  23. Same setup but with different mobo and CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ Dual Core Processor Socket AM2 Brisbane 2.1GHZ 2X512KB 65NM 65W Retail Box Gigabyte GA-MA69VM-S2 mATX AM2 AMD 690V DDR2 PCI-E16 2PCI SATA2 RAID RX1200 Sound GBLAN Motherboard Total $347.63 + tax & shipping from NCIX
  24. I think what nmX.Memnoch posted is only for the USA, to bad, would be very good deal indeed. So I made a list: Inwin Z583K5 Mid Tower mATX Case Black 2X5.25 2X3.5 1X3.5INT 350W ATX V1.3 20/24PIN Corsair Value Select PC2-5300 1X1GB DDR2-667 240PIN DIMM *IR-$37* Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 80GB SATA2 2MB 11MS 7200RPM Hard Drive 5YR MFR Warranty Liteon DVD+RW 20X8X16 DVD-RW 20X6X16 DL 8X INT IDE Drive Black DVD Writer OEM ASUS P5GZ-MX mATX LGA775 Conroe 945GZ DDR2 PCI-E16 PCI-E1 2PCI SATA Sound Video Motherboard Intel Pentium Dual Core E2140 Dual Core Processor LGA775 1.6GHZ 800FSB 1MB Retail Total $340.86 + tax & shipping from NCIX So that would be a little over 400 CAD .
  25. Anandtech is a good source indeed, but I think they didn’t modify the drivers there self, nor do I see end-users have done this. The only lead they have is the test setup from iNTEL with SLI... Believe me, this is driving me nutz and almost impossible to believe it’s only software related. Any way, for now, when you want SLI, you have to go with an nVidia 650/680 chipset.
