  1. It shouldnt matter what the license says. As a reasonable Administrator why would you A) use a product that has no formal support channel. Imagine if you will Boss: "we are having an issue with x" you: "well I used a free program I downloaded off the magical internet to make those changes. I dont know how it works or what it does, but I laid out the symptoms and as soon as some strangers, with no affiliation to anything, reply to my thread on some random forum that i just joined yesterday, I'll try everything they say until we get it fixed." Boss: "What does it say in the documentation......" Which brings us to B: B ) use a product that is not documented nor has there been a listing of the changes it makes to your install files as you are wandering through the GUI removing features. ...and Im sure the conversation ends poorly.
  2. or some google desktop action http://gowrisivaprasad.wordpress.com/2007/...google-desktop/
  3. that sounds a tad more permissions, are you sure that user doesnt have read only access to that folder? can you, from a command prompt, run "CACLS filename" and confirm that the account in question displays as "computer/user:F" ?
  4. sounds like some fantastic emi, i would ask a couple of ?s can you hear the low bass mouse clicks, in addition to the screeching? if you turn your monitor off, can you still hear your mouse? *and re-seating the soundcard should happen as well to eliminate that guy having pulled loose.
  5. Well hopefully they re-tool the controls, because the PS3 version jacked the analog controls to make it drive like a track vehicle. Now if I get to drive the clump with the balance board..... I am still waiting for wii Pilotwings (motor sports airplane), and I think they dropped screenshots of that at E3 2006. and some wii kid icarus would be grand as well while I am standing in line for vaporware
  6. You want to implement this item as the fail-safe for a production environment? With reviews like I dont see why I would shop anywhere else Having a mixed bag of DCs should not be an issue. Especially if the 2003 is only serving the purpose of being replicated to. Couple of threads with decent walkthroughs. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums...71-952e0c0e10f6 http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums...0c-fa18d2ebeece
  7. http://www.almeza.com/ never used it, but was considered because it offers enterprise usability.
  8. http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en...1c-05638dae53fc couple of solutions in this thread, if you have not already found and tried them.

  11. is the file association busted for .xls files on User A's machine? If user A right clicks the file and selects open with.. and chooses excel does it function?
  12. http://www.microsoft.com/uk/homepc/autorou...y-coverage.mspx Ireland is included under the "limited street level coverage and no address-find capability for:"
  13. @tab00 google the string "Windows 7 7600 AIO [grmculxfrer_en_dvd]" ....so you think your company is the source? and anyway taking a second pass at a hella customized load is no fun if you have to verify the integrity of the install. I would start from the scratch loads that the disc was originally built with.
  14. because you picked the name of a popular warez copy and lines like "cant see how to start all over" only serve to further the doubts..... This would have been the third posting in a row of that sort, so you caught more of a WTH? answer than I usually provide. Starting from scratch is indeed what I would do in this case, especially if you thoroughly upended the original. And I have begun dropping the collections from driverpacks, they are super for making a more generic load.
  15. Yup, the canned answer is to use a vanilla load, I would also suggest using a legit version...... ...but I am hella cynical and would totally assume this is the warez 'windows 7 extreme'... edit::::...though the possibility remains that you liked the name on the sticky so much you adopted it for your load, but again I only see the evil in everybody
  16. @taboo, you have a warez load, you will get no help from this forum. rule 1a. @Ja9, yes if you are creating your own AIO, but chances are you downloaded the same warez copy.
  17. All the negatives I see refer to how it would it would be burdensome for interaction with 'sites.' Yet all the press indicates that this plugin is/was designed so that Google Wave could function with it. So, a feature in the GoogleWave.msi will be a 'install chrome-frame plugin for IE', and this will be primarily used by the wave app and not affect browsing 'wave-less' IE in any more negative a fashion (than already present, naturally). Unless some site the makes the grave mistake of actually including (content="chrome=1") edit: grammar policing.
  18. Have you installed a vanilla XP to this system (in its current configuration) ever? *so we can eliminate the new hardware configuration as the issue edit: fixed my p***-poor grammar
  19. oeminfo and oemlogo, both in system 32.

  21. I did not backtrack to check for the multiples, I apologize. The scans do not do a very good job of pointing out whether it has been superseded or obsoleted (i think obsolved sounds better, but apparently its not a word). I can check with our Information Assurance guy tomorrow and see if he has a user friendly document with a little more depth. Im the lowly integrator and just have the contents of the deployment and a piped Dir command
  22. I was going to list out the ones that differ between our listings but this may be more helpful. This is our listing in response to RETINA and DISA Gold scans. Working from the bottom the first 4 or 5 were not on your page. 23. http://www.msfn.org/board/custom-gpo-adm-file-t126922.html The setup worked well for disabling the ability to use usb storage devices, while still allowing other usb devices proper functionality.
  24. He meant Dial-a-fix, and It will not perform as such It will however, .....and speaking of tools, I dont think you have to get all touchy feely if it is on other reputable sites like CNET and MajorGeeks. And I can only assume you chose nlite arbitrarily as the only similarity is the $0 price tag. ( and save some capslock for the rest of us )

    Re-Slipstreaming

what do you want to add? throwing extra things into the runonce should be harmless. There are also other methods, but that all depends on what you are after.
