  1. so as you arent coming to England i can put my boots back in the cupboard now then?? have a good time in mexico gamehead
  2. Gamehead.. turned out the package wasnt my tester kit.. but some stuff from AMD. Still waiting also :/
  3. ok, ive changed my mind. its ok im allowed to .. honest. EVE is very immersive. its pretty boring really tho in this stage of the beta, not as much content as there is going to be, much of it has been disabled for this stage of testing. However it will be an AWESOME game when completed, some very interesting developments coming up, but its down to CPP to get it right, and im sure they will. its not the kind of company or game to get rushed out onto the shelves *cough* EA *cough* EVE has 5000 solar systems .. and possibly more, they can expand it too if needed. to give you an idea i have visited probably about 30 of them so far, and thats without exploring, most i just "passed through" on the way to other places. its so enormous looking at the map can be mind boggling at times, its not a 2d map.. but a 3d rotational mesh, objects are at different hights within each solar system.. and each solar system is at a different hieght to its nieghbours. its trully HUGE. Myself and a few other testers started a Corporation up... doing well so far and attracting new members. each member has a role.... managers, directors, CEO, mechanic etc. some have multiple roles. the scope for player V's player and Corporation V's corporation alliances and wars is very interesting... huge wars could break out with conflicts of interest because of alliances and things. and the ships... wow some of those puppys are huge, we are about to buy one of these tonight when we find another corporation that has the blueprints to build it: guess whos flying it?? Snoop... i really hope you get your wish and get to test the game. if you do be Minmatar and look for some of our offices in the noob start up solar system. we have about 3 there, Glimmer Enterprises.
  4. err... HAHAHA have you any idea how far away from Iraq we are?? you would be no safer in the USA or Canada than in UK... we are all miles from it.....
  5. My pack arived today but i didnt get out of bed in time for the postman who was knocking on my door and he left, when i got out the door i couldnt find him so ill have to go pick the box up from the depot or wait till wednesday for them to try redeliver (heh i think last option suits me im lazy ) anyone else get theirs?
  6. finally i get to tar and feather him muhahahhahaha Crispy, where do you think the chese gets its name duh
  7. reason for no bg image and just this plain color is this forum will need to fit in another table insid ethe new design and so wont need a bg image, it would look stupid if it did have one and would ruin the tables. forums will be about 80% in new design. and locked too, butt heads posting large images like you did breaking the table will be a thing of the past... i hope. if not ill have to make all uploaded images linked rather than showing in the page.. and make page fluid inace anyone else posts large code blocks or images-by-linking. nice ideas jay, but coming soon... or not coming ever. the idea with online users bit a top of page is good.. we had it like that before, i think it will go well on new design, however i dont know if we will be using that welcome box bit as the site has its own already.
  8. yeah most of us will get our packs tommorrow
  9. never heard of him.
  10. what did you think to the movie then boogs?
  11. Paranoid: Low Schizoid: Low Schizotypal: Moderate Antisocial: Low Borderline: Low Histrionic: Moderate Narcissistic: Moderate Avoidant: Low Dependent: Moderate Obsessive-Compulsive: Low yeah i agree crispy you need locking up!
  12. Do NOT buy it. i did some reasearch and working out of how much money it would generate based on their antisipations. the game will generate more than $16 million US a year. i posted about it, nothing derogatory in the forums an my post was deleted. They dont want people to realise that what i have said before about MMPORGs is true.. they are just shafting you for money and using the excuse of server cost and bandiwdth to charge you that money. sure they have to make a profit but they make profit from the CD sales alone. whats gained from subscriptions is just extra. The other thing is that the server cluster will consist of about 50 pentium 4 servers running windows 2000 adv and SQL. The beta testers forums also run on SQL and cant even support the few hundered people viewing the page at any one time. Most game bugs and problems appear to be down to server side memory leaks, when the servers reboot almost all bugs vanish. if more people buy MMPORg games and pay these rediculous monthly fees online the trend will spread to more and more games online, such as FPS games. using the same excuse of server maintenance costs. 1942 has over a hundered servers in different countries run by EA. 1942 takes up a LOT of bandwidth. sure its not a persistent environment and the servers are clustered but it doesent cost any more money really to cluster the machines. if FPS games only have about 20k users playing them online at anyone time what do you think a game that requires monthly fees is going to have? also snoop.. regards what you said about each solar system supporting 1000 users tops, theres about 5000 solar systems so i wouldnt worry too much about them getting full.
  13. Windows server? what use would you have for it... you on a network?
  14. My friend drunk and drove a lot. eventually he was banned, then caught driving when banned. one day he was in the back seat of another friends car and they hit a wall and spun round end on end into a tree. the two in the front seat got out without a scratch. my best mate died. i had been in his car with him when he was drunk once, after that i would take his keys off him and hide them and give them to other people because he would drive no matter how wasted he got rather than getting a taxi home or something. dont do it. Last thing in the world you ever want to do is carry your friend to his grave and lower him into it. Heres Rick, wasted again on his 25th birthday. we had a great night that night, i wish we could have more. posting this is upsetting as hell.
  15. lol i like it pia
  16. http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/internet/03/0...eeto/index.html lol
  17. hehe ilike it, fact im gonna quote that sometime. i like number 15 too thats a corker
  18. ok, after looking for 5 minutes i think i need to take some time away from the internet, if people like these use it then i dont want to end up as wierd as them. http://dubster.com/cars/index.asp?id=41 some of you might like it, think its cool, whatever, and thats scary.
  19. when you moused over a folder or other icon in explorer before in longhorn it was animated, rocked from side to side. this is gone in 4008, as is the newer style for desktop properties.. replaced with traditional windows style. those where some of the best looking features, hope they come back. unless im missing something and they can be turned back on somehow? it seems that most of the inovative stuff that was in has been pulled out. granted none of it worked yet, but you had an idea where the OS was headed. now it looks like XP with a skin and sidebar all the more than it did before.
  20. but sql bitez though
  21. it was a mac wasnt it?? i think he should have executed it right there in the store he bought it from before taking it home LOL!
  22. i know its pro, i wanted to make sure your installing the right pack!
  23. who on earth would do a thing like that! *sorry* :flowers:
  24. not possible to install SP1??? i didnt know that, infact.. surely thats wrong. you have to be able to install it. if you meant its not possible to have a pirate key and a copy of DELL OEM xp.. think again! all the OEM versions i can think of have been on the net at somepoint, the tools to make your own "OEM" version are all over the place too, so you can modify that dell logo to say HELL if you wanted Welcome to the world of OEM, its inherant problems and pains in the neck.. infact, didnt people on this very forum warn you of such hassles when buying a pc from some OEM company? im sure they did... i wont say those words im dying to say tho. you can install SP1 on an OEM version, i will go look if theres anything different, such as a specific DELL sp1 pack or something. i doubt it however. are you trying to install SP1 for HOME on your machine, or trying to install the PRO sp1?
  25. check with local colleges and universities boogs, i expect one near you will do it. they have everything good in your part of the world. smart phones, gadgets, ping pong girls.. But yeah i think you can do the course online too, id recommend doing it at a college or someplace though if you can.
