  1. This might be the exact tool that you need: http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2003/journ/LISTool.htm
  2. OK, lets see --- where is that special link ...................... mouse don't fail me now!! WTF, sabatoged by Microsoft again!!!
  3. One of the best experts here is not yellow, but Green!
  4. @Alanoll You got it -- Beta Forum (CreamHackered) knows his stuff almost always -- is that your name there?
  5. Probably cannot give you a link because this comes from the "other" Web site that we here refer to as "spam".
  6. I think that the most that you can on get one one CD after slipsteaming is Office and FrontPage. These come to about 680 Meg arter compressing with cdimage, so when I do the math nothing else will fit. As always YMMV.
  7. PC Magazine reviews the Spyware removers. Even the best of them remove only about 57% of the Spyware. None of them are anywhere near as effective as the worst antivirus program is at dealing with viruses. You simply must run more than one if you deal with cleaning up other people's computers. I have seen many cases where even two or three of the best Spyware remover programs could not clean the computer completely and further manual cleaning was required. YMMV
  8. At last a definitive answer! Thanks, I suspected that registry entry was of no value, but I was not able to get as far as you did.
  9. Ummm - very common problem -- see explanation and fix here: Loopback Problem Explained
  10. ------- and the original question still stands unanswered! (Except for the reg file -- thanks for that.)
  11. I really cannot tell you what caused it as the possibilities are literally endless, however it was a corrupted entry for the font in the registry.
  12. You might try the "Repair Fonts" option in Tweakui. If that does not work try setting the Theme to Classic and then back to Windows XP. Let us know!
  13. Why is it that every Amoeba, that crawls up out of the sea and discovers land, posts about it here before they've read enough to see that the land has been inhabited for quite some time? Oh well.
  14. Go to Windows Update and install all the critical patches.
  15. The only solution that I could come up with for Trueimage was to write a program to send the keystrokes and serial #, etc. (However, I'm a programmer among other things) Google for AutoIT, it may do the job for you.
  16. I believe that means that the error is in your winnt.sif. Try another means of creating it.
  17. You have given too much information to diagnose the problem.
  18. First choice - SpySweeper Second Choice - PestPatrol
  19. Reseat the Graphics card, move to another slot, then replace - try in that order.
  20. Check out GreenMachine's work on this site for a complete Win2K solution.
  21. VPN is the way to go for your situation. If you want to do it right considering the rampant security problems today. Look into this: Snap VPN Costs some bucks, so it depends on just how many security and reliability and ease of use concerns you have. You could certainly do it cheaper.
  22. Uhhhh --WEB mail ---- WEB is port 80 - Port blocking this port will shut down all Web browsing! Block the ip as others told you!
  23. @Ge0ph As far as I am concerned, you have won the "Install" part of the discussion. One question: Does Bart's PE reboot every 24 hrs as regular PE does? I know Microsoft put that in their PE to defeat people using it as an operating system.
  24. All this talent from a guy who thinks RC2 was released on June 27 - and challenged by a guy who thinks he had a slipstream problem. As he said, his stream has slipped right off the planet - aided and abetted by GreenTimeMachine.
  25. Marginal memory chips that run win98 just fine will fail under win2000 or XP. That may well be your problem.
