gamehead200, I think what you are talking about is a running system. Since Pcmaker is building an ISO for a fresh install, it does not apply. SP3 is all that he needs. There is a long thread in the nLite forum talking about the size increase of installing various combinations of SPs in XP. You two might consider a search for this information. Enjoy, John.

Pcmaker, must have done plenty wrong to get a 10 GB ISO. You only need SP3, but where the other 9 or so GB came from I have no clue. So, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
-
potts.mike, in nLite under Options, General Tab in the Requirements section is "HDD free space Requirement". Disable this option - should allow you to install. Enjoy, John.
-
jchuillier, please take a look at this. If you can find the correct .inf file, perhaps we can find a solution as the referenced post did. Please attach the .inf you think is applicable. Enjoy, John.

HowdyDoody, I don't see anything I think would cause your problem. You do need to remove the Tweak "Explorer-Launch folder windows in a separate process" because it exposes a Windows bug, and please install the latest version of nLite, 1.4.9.1. I don't think this is the source of your shut down message. Are you sure you have started with a fresh source and followed the other items I spelled out in my first reply? Enjoy, John.

HowdyDoody, no information - no clue. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.

Zoom7000, basically, you need to do all your work in one nLite session. Here is my standard inculcation - Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.

supervixen7, please see this thread. Enjoy, John.

NuMcA_gr, great! Glad you fixed it - a lot easier than where I was headed. You are welcome. Have fun, John. EDIT: Please attach your sonypvu1.inf file. I am curious. Thanks, John.
-
NuMcA_gr, if you can find the correct .inf (.IN_), it should contain copy commands for all the files it needs. If you can find a likely .inf, please attach it and we will take a look. I assume in the reference you posted that the .inf contains all the files recommended to copy. Take a look and see if I am correct. Attach it and I'll take a look. Enjoy, John.

paxophobe, assuming you created your Windows with nLite, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.

NuMcA_gr, the other post you replied to may give us an idea of how to attack this problem. I am not surprised that it did not work for you assuming you did the camera driver work. I assume you need to do the Sony Memory Stick work. This may be more work than just starting over. I am of little help since I am running XP x64 and nLite does not have a Sony Memory Stick option under Hardware. I find only two references to Sony in my source folder - one is a jog dial and the other a modem. I suggest you search your original CD for references to Sony, especially .inf files (probably compressed into .IN_). If you can find an .inf file for the Sony Memory Stick, then possibly you can find all the files it references and place these along with the .inf into a folder and then use the Device Manage to install the driver and point to this folder. Please let us know what you learn. If you decide to start over, be sure to install the latest version of nLite, 1.4.9.1. Enjoy, John.

NuMcA_gr, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini and we will take a look. The odds are you will need to reformat. Enjoy, John.

buggie, we need more information. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini (as gamehead200 has requested) and the list of files that are there that you think should not be there and the folders where they are found. Is it just in the installed Windows or in the nLite altered source files/folders? Have you searched your original source files/folders for these same files? Are any of them there? Enjoy, John.

AGlobalThreatsK, nLite uses the OS slipstream method to integrate SPs and apparently that does not work correctly under Vista or 7 for XP ISOs. There is an MS KB950722 about this problem. It does not look directly applicable, but many people have had problems with XP SPs under Vista. The reason I mentioned 'text mode only' drivers was because you can include regular drivers and most people do. I plan on including all the drivers I can when I do my next build - chip set, video card, audio chip, etc. Enjoy, John.
-
AGlobalThreatsK, it does not matter what SP is on your original CD. You only need to add the last SP you want, in your case, SP3. I am running XP x64 and one of my CDs has SP1 and the other SP2 (last for XP x64). I think you are correct about needing SP2 for IE7. I also think you are correct that adding SPs after install will cause more clutter on your system. And also you must add SP1, SP2 and SP3 to a running system. One way to get around not having access to an XP machine is to install a virtual system on your Vista machine and install your XP on it. You then use it to run nLite and create your XP ISO. VMware Server, VirtualPC and VIrtualBox are all free. A virtual system is also a great test bed - would not be without. It would take some work, but cost nothing. Is it not possible to find a system running XP that you could use to make your CD? Good luck, John.
-
AGlobalThreatsK, what SP does your original CD contain? If it is at least SP2, then do some research (MS DL Center) and see if you can get by without SP3. You can, of course, add SPs after installation and IE 7 or 8 and WMP11. I am curious what this means? Enjoy, John.

supervixen7, we need to see your Last Session to have a chance to help you. What is that code 28 - a BSOD Stop code or ? So, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.

afredje, it should work, if you have the correct drivers. Please let us hear how it goes. Have fun, John.
-
doart, the stop says the file system is missing. Did you format your HDD in FAT or NTFS? I use NTFS and have seen no problems. If this fails on a VM, then it is not a driver problem. If you have not run nLite multiple time (as mara- pointed out), then I would suspect your source. Where did your source come from? How was SP3 added to it? If all is OK here, I would suggest removing all the AddOns and see it will work. I would also suggest doing all your testing on your VM until you get past this problem. Enjoy, John.

afredje, your Last Session looks fine. You no longer have the x64 driver as before. You do not need to change the file paths. NLite uses the Last Session to modify the source files on your host and stores the driver files in the I386\NLDRV folder of your source. These files will be copied to your Windows\NLDRV during install. I do not understand what if any problem(s) your are having when you try to install. Perhaps it is a language problem, so I am going to translate this into Dutch (using Google translate). Please let me know if it helps and you can reply in Dutch, and I will translate into English. Geniet, John.

algreary, I have not read all your first post, but will soon and update this reply, if necessary. We need to see your Last Session, so, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John. EDIT: OK, read it all. What does this mean? How are your HDDs attached - SATA or PATA? I can't tell what kind of drivers you have installed. Have you installed a complete set of chip set drivers? Have you checked with LG about this problem? Do you have the latest firmware for the optical drive? Can you see your drive in the Device Manager? If not, try checking Show Hidden Devices under View. Do you get the pop up about found new hardware if you disconnect/reconnect the drive power? Enjoy, John.

peppino, I don't understand exactly what you have done and what does and does not work. .Net Framework and its updates cannot be integrated directly using nLite. Please see this great tutorial concerning this and much more. If you have more questions, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.

doart, please post the Stop code with the BSOD. If it is a 07B, then you have not installed the correct text mode drivers (mass storage as by -X-). Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini (as mara- requested), and make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
