  1. plizarralde, You got me guessing! I searched my computer (XP x64) and found no Program Data or ProgramData folders at all. A quick Google search indicated they my be used by licensed programs. You say the installers are in them. Do you mean a full copy of the installer - perhaps many MBs? Please attach (no paste) your LastSession.ini. We don't have a translation problem with the folder name do we? You not talking about the Program Files folder? Enjoy, John.
  2. Zeero, Please attach (not paste) your LastSession.ini. What is your CD label (mine is ARMPXOEM_EN)? Make sure you have not nLited the same source more than once. Enjoy, John.
  3. gospeed, Please see the "Dependent of" and "Excludes" in Configuration. They are explained in chapter 3 of the manual. Enjoy, John.
  4. flex4god, Please attach (not paste) your LastSession.ini so people here can see what you removed. Someone may be able to help you. Enjoy, John.
  5. zomos, What is Thanks, John.
  6. Lumocolor, JRE 6 Update 10 is the latest. Did you install both the 64 bit and 32 bit versions? Since only 32 bit ActiveX are supported (you are using 32 version of IE7?), you must install both. Here is the code I copied from Kurt_Aust's 64 bit guide. %Source%AddOns\jre-6u10-windows-i586-p.exe IEXPLORER=1 ADDLOCAL=ALL /Passive /NoRestart %Source%AddOns\jre-6u10-windows-x64.exe /Passive /NoRestart You might want to look at the guide also. Enjoy, John.

    nLite ERROR

ander2, You must copy your entire XP CD contents to a folder on your computer or let nLite do that. This folder must contain an i386 (32 bit and 64 bit) or an AMD64 (64 bit) folder. TranceEnergy is pointing you to the guide for nLite. You should read this and spend some time looking at these forums to see what others are doing and what kind of problems they are having. I suggest you start off with something simple first, perhaps doing an unattended install with only SP3. I also suggest that you look into a virtual system such as VMware Server, VuirtualBox or VirtualPC. These are all free and will save you from making bad CDs. The last two are probably best for the 32 bit XP because they are much smaller. Enjoy, John.
  8. Sweden, I can see you have taken out a lot of stuff, but I can't read many of the entries. It does look like you have removed some networking stuff. I know that Norton's programs are going to use the Internet, so possibly that is a problem. Does your browser work OK? I guess my only suggestion at this time is to put about have of the things back you have removed and see if it will start. Can you be more specific about what you mean by 'won't start'. Does it show up in the Task Manager at all? - for a second then disappear? Are there any errors or messages? Does Norton have any log file anywhere? Really grasping at straws here. Good luck, John.
  9. oao, You need to turn off Automatically Restart: Right click My Computer-click Advanced Tab-Click Startup and Recovery-Click Settings-Uncheck Automatically Restart. This will cause you to be able to see the BSOD. Please post the Stop code here. You will have to reset out of this. You probably have mini dumps from all your crashes but they are little fun to read. You should look in your System Log for any logged errors. I also run XP x64 and have not seen any crashes I thought came from nLite. I did see several with VMware Server and I had to increase my Core Voltage to get rid of them. You might consider testing your hardware with Memtest86 and/or Prime95 (torture test). I assume you are running the latest nLite. Good luck, John.
  10. Sweden, Couple of suggestions: Since Norton's is a paid for program, e-mail their support and ask them the question. Attach (not paste) your LastSession.ini and tell us what you are doing and with what. Enjoy, John.

    dvd with nlite

skonos, Yes, it works fine. I have used it many times. I suggest you always erase the DVD if it is re-writable. NLite will recognize the media and write it correctly. Enjoy, John.

    Uxtheme patch

Speeddymon, I think your problem is that you nLited the same source more than once. You should always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders when you run nLite. The symptoms when you cheap are numerous, varied and often bizarre. Enjoy, John.
  13. adiabolist, You did not say what OS your are running but I assume XP 32 bit. I looked at my XP Pro 64 bit and it works just as you said yours used to. Have you searched your Registry for "LogonType" to see if there are more than one. I have two but the one in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon is not updated by the Control Panel. Good luck, John.
  14. oao, If you Install or even Repair/Re-install, MS will require you to register. I think this is how they enforce their license agreement. I have done a couple of Repairs and had to register. I have an nVidia chip set and the driver folder is 64 bit only, so I point to all. My Catalyst driver is the same way. I am sure I am getting drivers I can't use but no big deal I figure. I should point out that I have not installed on hardware yet and VMware Server does not test HW drivers at all since it brings its own virtual HW and drivers. My experience has always been that drivers I need are all 64 or all 32 bit. Hope this helps, John.
  15. atolica, It is probably a driver problem. Did you install text mode drivers for your RAID and SATA drives? Did nLite see them as text mode? Did the folder with the .inf file(s) also have a txtsetup.oem file? You will get some really bizarre symptoms if your RAID/SATA text mode drivers are not correct. Since VMware brings along its own virtual hardware and drivers, yours don't get tested. You should also update to the latest nLite, 1.4.9.1. The only thing I can suggest is look at your text mode drivers carefully. Do you have the files for a floppy? Are these the ones you are using? Good luck, John.
  16. morph99, The short answer is 'YES'. Hotfixes go in via nLite but the programs are going to require a little more work. NLite will integrate Addons which contain the programs you want. You should do a search in these forums to see if someone has built an Addon for your programs or how to build your own. WPI is also an option. Enjoy, John.
  17. Guys, I am only guessing here, but I think there are many drivers on the CD that are not installed. There are IDs on the drivers that are used to determine the correct one to install at the required time, as determined by the hardware (via its ID). I suspect when you include multiple drivers that only the ones really needed get installed during Windows install, even though nLite places them all into the ISO. When nLite asks about 32 or 64 bit you must pick the correct one or there is trouble. I assume this is because the HW and drivers have the same IDs for 32/64 bits. You can look in your Device Manager and your INFs and see the IDs. You might look at your AMD64 folder and see if there is a SVCPACK folder. I do not have one in my original CD folders but I do after nLite has run. If it is in your original folders, look inside and see if you have a bunch of KB... files. I have many after nLite and assume they were added. Another avenue would be to Google search on your CD label (mine is ARMPXOEM_EN) and see what you can find about its content. When I nLite my original CD folders I get Version 5.2.3790.1820. I suspect the last four numbers reflect the SP and possibly hotfixes. Look at it and see what you can determine. Hope this helps, John.
  18. coop75, Thanks much for the scoop on finding switches from the .exe. This is the first time I have heard about that. USSF finds several switches (silent, I guess) but not the -a and -p ones. Good to learn. Looks like you have lots of information on your problem. Please let us know how it all turns out. Thanks, John.
  19. oao, 1. Sounds strange to me, but that nLite looks for this condition suggests it is possible. Has the CD been integrated before? If you say OK, does it go well or end in an error? 2. After you install any new OS you will have to register or you can't use it after 30 days. I have seen this many times. I am not familiar with SysRep, so I really can't talk intelligently about it. 3. Just indicate multiple drivers, then select one. NLite will take the proper action. Hope this helps. John.
  20. morph99, You keep saying 'you' and 'your'. The owner of nLite is nuhi, so you should address your opinion to him. Most of us here are users just as you are. I suggest you always check the MD5 he provides on your DLs of nLite. I have never had any trouble with nLite's main DL site or mirrors. Enjoy, John.
  21. Coop, Thanks for the details. I went to the Intel site and DLed both the drivers (iata86cd.exe and iata86enu.exe) and could not extract either with 7-Zip. How did you extract the text mode driver you needed and which DL did you use? Did you pick the 32 bit version of the driver in nLite? Good luck, John.
  22. coop75, What are you doing? We have no idea. What OS are you nLiteing and under what OS? What kind of source are you using? What is your BSOD error code? Attach (not paste) your LastSession.ini and make sure you don't nLite the same source more that once. Enjoy, John.
  23. LDouglasLJr, I asked Kurt_Aust (has posts on making complete ISO's for XP x64 and W2K). He uses XP x64 to nLite his x64 W2K with no problems and expects that the 32 bit should also work. Here's his W2K discussion. Enjoy, John.
  24. benifin, Are you nLiteing under XP x64? I assume so. I don't know anything about , but I assume it should not harm any files. I would compare the hashes of the file in your nLited source folder with the one on your XP x64 computer and the file on the original CD. This should give you a hint where the problem is.I am running XP x64 SP2 and latest updates. My ntdll.dll hashes:MD5 7A4C6C138DE95E58D8A9B4942646D0CC, SHA-1 5C789D8E0848E2178EF07BCB42F859C61E766C6B. These are the same as the one in my AMD64 folder of my nLited source. Good luck, John.
  25. Tex-Twil, What version of nLite are you using? I have never heard of any partition option in nLite and all of my installs always stop for manual partitioning. John.
