  1. ijwcomp, Take a look at this great guide for x64. Even if you don't use the process, there are many links to x64 files. Enjoy, John.
  2. Kingbeezz, you attached Last Session_U.ini not Last Session.ini. You should not attach the _u.ini files - contain private info and you should remove these. If you don't know if these update packs contain hot fixes before SP3, then you need to find out. If they do, then that could well be your problem. Enjoy, John.
  3. atv-jim, you really should remove the image of your key. No telling how many people have copied it and will try to use it. If it is in use then you are out of luck with MS. Enjoy, John.
  4. mattjaf, I suspect you need both drivers. Are you defining a RAID? You should also point nLite to an .inf file not .ini. Another guy has been having text mode driver problems. See here. The .oem file is not in the same folder as the .inf file. It looks like you have the same problem. You might try moving the .OEM into the Winxp folder and pointing nLite to the .inf in there. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini, start with a fresh copy of your files/folder, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  5. felix1432, I don't use AddOns or Update Packs, so I am suspicious of them. Hopefully someone will respond of your use. In the mean time remove them and see if it works. If so, add them back a few at a time till it breaks. Good luck, john.
  6. infer73, I am not familiar with MSP files, but they look interesting and I will look into them. Seems like you know them well. I have seen some discussions in the WPI forum about installing Office 2007, but I don't remember seeing talk about language packs. The time zone problem is being discussed right now - see the post. I looked at your Last Session.ini and it looks like you are applying hot fixes to IE7 before IE7 is installed. you should place the IE7 installer first. Please be sure to run nLite only once against the same source and integrate only one SP. Please do some searching about Office and language packs. Sorry I can't offer more help. Perhaps someone else will response. Enjoy, John. EDIT: infer73, see this. I found it by searching Google for "silent install office language pack". There were many hits - take a look. I know this is off the wall, but have you considered Open Office? I use and like it, and it is free! Enjoy, John.
  7. Kingbeezz, this is the first time I have heard of CTupdate, so I have no idea what is going on. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini, make sure you are not running nLite more than once against the same source and integrate only one SP. Always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and do all your work in one nLite session. Enjoy, John.
  8. LeveL, I cannot answer why the hot fix KB958215 is so large. Perhaps you can get a reply from MS. I have built an ISO using the complete list on Kurt_Aust's site and installed it in VMware Server with no problem. This includes two of IE7-* fixes, 180 and 670 in his list. Are you still not running nLite under XP x64? if so, that is probably your problem. Enjoy, John.
  9. felix1432, whenever there are strange symptoms it is often caused by running nLite more than once against the same source. Always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Enjoy, John.
  10. infer73, I only have some questions. What do you mean by 'semi functional'? Are you trying to put Office 2007 and the language pack in using nLite? How are you putting Office 2007 using nLite? Please attach (not paste) your LastSession.ini, also make sure you are not running nLite more than once against the same source and integrate only one SP. Always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and do all your work in one nLite session. Have you considered a virtual system (VirtualPC, VirtualBox, VMware Server - all free) for testing? Enjoy, John.
  11. atv-jim, it is LastSession.ini not Last.Session.ini and it is in your source folder after you run nLite unless you disabled it on the General tab of Options. There is also a copy in C:\Program Files\nLite\Presets by date. If you are not running nLite in English, the name will be different. I think the real problem here is using Win 2000 to nLite an XP CD. Can you get to a system with XP? BTW, Google says FCKGW is the first five characters of the Volume License Key (VLK). One solution is for you to load your XP (as is) on your new computer, then run nLite and create a CD to load SP3 and do whatever else you want to do such as post SP3 hot fixes, unattended, drivers, etc. It would mean you will have to make a CD containing all you need (nLite, SP3, etc) on your Win 2000 machine. Lets us know how it turns out. Enjoy, John.
  12. AcePL, the LastSession.ini looks OK, even though there are many things I can't read. Since the file was there, then I suspect you do not have the text mode drivers integrated properly. When nLite is processing the folder, you should get a message asking which one to use and after you respond, the Mode will show TXT - xxxxx. Another possibility is a CD error. If the error repeats, try burning your CD at a slower speed (2x or so). Enjoy, John
  13. Kurt_Aust, the video was great and you taught me a new word (Hentai). I have learned much from you. Thanks, John!
  14. AcePL, I still don't know what the installer error (merlin.acs) is about. Was this during install of XP? Do you have this file (may be MERLIN.AC_) in the i386 folder of your original CD and/or in your nLite prepared files. I suspect you have run nLite more than one against the same source. Always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and do all your work in one nLite session and only apply one SP. Please attach (not paste) your LastSession.ini. You really need to do a better job of explaining what you are doing, with what and what/when errors occur - the more the better not less! Enjoy, John. Edit: I DLed the file you pointed to and extracted it and then extracted (using 7-Zip) the drvSetup.exe file and got the attached files out of the $[31] folder. This does look like the text mode driver files. The txtsetup.oem is the secret but point to the right .inf. John.
  15. atv-jim, I too, am lost. To start, how about editing your identical post in the MUI thread and erasing it - thanks. Please attach (not paste) your Last.Session.ini and make sure you have not run nLite more than once against the same source. Always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and do all your work in one nLite session. There is an unattend.txt in my original CD files but not in the one I have run nLite against. I guess nLite has deleted it, so it is not used. What kind of CD do you have? Please post the CD label (such as ARMPXOEM_EN), so we can see. If it is an OEM disk and has been installed on a previous PC, you may be violating your EULA and may be able to install but not activate your OS (after 30 days you're dead). Enjoy, John.
  16. Welcome, AcePL, but we are all wondering what you are doing. What are you doing, installing or running nLite? What installer says "can`t copy merlin.acs file "? If you are buying a new PC, why do you need drivers? What OS are you talking about? I looked at the driver file you referenced and could not much sense of it. If you are going to create an ISO using nLite to install on your new computer, then you need all the drivers for your hardware as well as text mode (also called F6) drivers for your SATA/RAID. So, let us know what you are doing and we'll try to help, but please read the nLite guides and look through this forum for a while first. Enjoy, John.
  17. LeveL, please attach (not paste) your LastSession.ini and make sure you are not running nLite more than once against the same source. I don't know if you can nLite a XP x64 source under a 32 bit XP. I strongly suspect you cannot slipstream an SP. That may be your problem. Can you get to a 64 bit OS? As you can see on the side, I am running XP x64. I have no trouble with any updates, IE7 or otherwise. KB956391 does not integrate properly, so I do that out of the RunOnce exit. See this post for a great tutorial on making an XP x64 ISO. Notice what it says in RED at the top. Enjoy, John.
  18. danico55, the last option on the nLite Task Selection page is Bootable ISO. This will write a CD/DVD of create an ISO file. You can start nLite against your current source file and select this option to make an ISO. In general you should not run nLite more than once against the same source. I have seen several posts here about using USB sticks to place the ISO. You should search them out. I also recommend that you consider a virtual system (VirtualBox, VirtualPC, VMware Server - all free) for testing. Enjoy, John.
  19. Belak51, I don't use AddOns, so can't answer that question. I sure hope it does, but hot fixes integrated with nLite do not show in Add/Remove. There are several posts about Uxtheme and SP3. Some say it works, some not. Please try it (hope you are using a virtual system to test), and let us know. Enjoy, John.
  20. Hugo_Luiten, you MUST start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders. NLite knows stuff from the .ini files in the C:\Program Files\nLite\Presets folder. You can select a different .ini file or just change the various options - will be saved at the end on running nLite. I think the LastSession.ini files in your source folder are just for reference and not used unless you specifically request it via the Import button on the Presets page. Enjoy, John.
  21. Hugo_Luiten, just copy all the files from your CD. I keep a folder with the original CD files in it and then copy them to my working folder when I want to make an ISO. You only need to add SP3, no matter what level your original CD is, never two SPs. It is true you don't get the Repair option with any other Unattended option. I decided I would make one CD with the repair option in case I had a problem. I have used Repair option only once (changed main board, CPU, memory). I could have used my running system to nLite a new CD (did not know about nLite - years ago). I have used System Restore several times to recover from problems but not Repair. Enjoy, John.
  22. Hugo_Luiten, OK, now I understand. I have created many ISOs and never had this problem. I don't know what is going on, but I suspect you have run nLite more than once against the same source. You should always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and do all your work in one nLite session. I have not used Prompt repair, I use Fully automated. Why are you using it? Enjoy, John.
  23. keithh, there is a utility called MapDrive (free) that can do this for you and it can be run at T-39. I know nothing about this utility and have not used it. There are a number of posts here about changing drive letters during unattended. Search here and via your favorite engine (Google). Enjoy, John.
  24. CyberPro CW, I assume Windows XP MC 2005 is Windows Media Center? What are you doing? Have you clicked the Brose... button? Have you copied your CD(s) to your HDD? Is the error on your optical drive or HDD? BTW, there are a number of posts here of how to combine the two MCE CDs into one. A search will turn them up. Enjoy ,John.
  25. Hugo_Luiten, thanks, but I see no problems here. When the LastSession is large, please attach it (see Browse... and UPLOAD buttons), not paste it. I really don't understand what your problems are. The Administrator and Guest accounts are created by Windows and can't be removed. It is not a good idea to run under the Administrator account, so you need at least one account defined. I suggest letting nLite create this for you. It can have administrator privileges as you wish. Please let us know if more help is needed. Enjoy, John.
