Create A Batch File That Will Delete Your Startup?
Redhatcc replied to Redhatcc's topic in Windows XP
well haha i had to think back really hard but i believe so i was looking on google for unattended information earily this week for XP, and since then i cant remember the forums looking right thanks! -
honestly sounds like a bad slot... maybe buy a pci-e card from best buy and try it out to see if it works then return it (that is if you dont have another card laying around you can try out)

Create A Batch File That Will Delete Your Startup?

hahahaha dang i do feel dumb but thank you!! -
from my experience i dont think that nlite will make it rebootable again, you might can redownload a copy of xp to burn to a cd (not sure where the best place to look at) but if that exact image worked on other computers and wont work on the one your trying it on maybe try putting another cd drive in there (honestly if something wont boot i put a eMachine DVD-ROM in the computer and if it wont boot then its the cd haha) and see how that works. also make sure the computer your booting to is enabled to boot from the cd drive before the hdd or for most computers on boot press F12 to select single time boot menu

Create A Batch File That Will Delete Your Startup?
Redhatcc replied to Redhatcc's topic in Windows XP
thanks that was helpful.. although i think i'm just going to get a batch to launch msconfig.exe haha even though everything else is automated now that i think about it there might be startup items that i want to keep so this might be one of the things i keep manual. for anyone trying to do the same thing as me and finds this thread what i did find out is delete the entire "Run" under both keys in a .bat then just re-add them afterwards worked for me. as far as the services i think the links above that others posted about "RunServices" is correct just all the computers i checked had a realy manipulated xp loaded onto them haha HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run ONE MORE THING... when i view a thread in msfn's forums for some reason now i see the main post then every post under it is like a mini link i have to click to view what else someone posted... and it just started this. how do i fix this its driving me crazy haha ?! -
Create A Batch File That Will Delete Your Startup?
Redhatcc replied to Redhatcc's topic in Windows XP
thx at the moment my google button wasnt working haha but i got the startup app's from launching but the startup services i cant seem to find i looked [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServicesOnce] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServicesOnce] but none of these registry folders exist on my machine and i cant quite seem to get my google button to find where startup services are located in the registry except for the keys and all listed above & thanks jaclaz my mind was elsewhere i didnt think to look on google for the first question haha i always seem to look on msfn then google -
i got a program that installs a bunch of software to a computer you run it on (and not always the same software, but whatever the user chooses to install) and after everything gets installed i'd like to delete it all out of the startup so i dont have quicktimes and other programs in my startup if im not using them at the time i fire up my computer haha i know that your startup entries are in your registry, anyone got a small script i can compile into a .bat file to run that just deletes everything out of my startup? (non-microsoft services would be great to delete as well... but idk how hard that would be to find that in the registry apart from other services that are microsoft that i want to let run) or if not anyone know where in your registry that your startup entries are listed?

anyone know some silent installs for this would be super great!!

i think if you get over 30 your doing good haha

well it would def. be somekind of moving part. when you think about moving parts the first thing that comes to mind is the fan's in which you said you blew out... but only other things it could be is the hard drive / cd-rom but the noise sounds to me not consistent enough for hard drive or cd-rom (being if it was the cd-rom you would know when you put in a cd). my bet is a cable is laying on the cpu fan when the case is closed or either case fan or ps fan i would leave the side of the case off... and when the noise started again look inside and see what you can see and listen to where its comming from within your computer

LCD Monitor Stands? Is There A Such Thing As Generic LCD Stand?
Redhatcc replied to Redhatcc's topic in Hardware Hangout
just to get a better understanding... from what i see here with the lcd monitors we have most of them seem to have a square fitting (or stand mount) and some do have unique fittings but i should be ok if i get a vesa 50/100/150/200 mount for general stand purposes? (note: were getting stands to use these on desk and not on walls ) -
Hey guys, I'm currently trying to get wireless working on a Toshiba Satellite A105-S2031 laptop. I initially tried the internal card and using the wireless program it came with, it could find a signal and claim to be connected, yet no Internet. I then put a Linksys USB wireless adapter in there and downloaded the latest drivers. It did the same thing and no Internet using the Linksys program. The wireless point I am connecting to is the one where I work and it connects fine on other PC's using the same WEP key I used for the Toshiba laptop. Also note that the Windows Wireless Configuration Utility does not show up in the system tray like it normally does. I'm not sure what the person did to the laptop but I have to go into network connections to open up that wireless configuration utility and you guessed it... It does the same thing as the other wireless utilities. Any suggestions would be appreciated... Reloading XP is not an option right now unfortunately.... Thanks.

We are a company that is looking into buying a large lot of broken lcd monitors... we have the tech's here that can do on board repairs and get the back working no problem but none of them have stands. Also we were watching on eBay lcd monitors that were broken that didnt have stands but were going for pretty cheap. We are a nonprofit business so we try and keep cost low on anything that we do have to buy. But what would you suggest? The large lot would be a huge mix of brands, sizes etc. so would we be able to find stands to hold 90% of them you think? Or would it be better to buy smaller lots of 2's and 5's and find the stands on eBay to fit them then?

I have herd stories of gas/air mixers, and gas heaters to help the gas warm up before going into the combustion chamber, i've even herd local repair shops talking about moth balls in your gas tank. At the moment i get 8 miles per gallon ..... does anyone know of a item, or method (besides driving 40 lol), or solution to getting better gas? It doesnt realy bother me gas prices but is sorta interesting since i drive an 03 H2.
