  5. agreed. a clean install is always a good answer. get a flash drive or borrow (lol) a hdd from a friend, back up your data in miniPE or something, just do a clean install and what-not. if for some ungodly reason it freezes go to the flee market and find a emachine dvd-rom, it normally reads the cd's over other cd-roms. (dont ask why but we do keep several handy at work for this same reason lol!)
  6. Very nice that works perfect... doesnt work on vista lol but im sure i'll never need it on there.... Thanks!!

  9. figured out what the problem is but no solution lol.. i "can" telnet into it and connect but what i type doesnt show up and when i send the GET command it goes through but nothing shows up after i hit enter. if i telnet to the site and hit enter it comes up with bad command error, but if i telnet into the server and enter the GET command the cursor goes to the next line so the command went through. if i hit enter after that it comes up bad command error...

  15. thanks for the reply Ok heres the very weird part... Once i load the computer up and all, and reboot it comes up like the HDD is blank right, well once i get it reloaded again does the same thing after i restart. BUT if i load the machine and restart, get the problem where it wont boot to the HDD, i take the HDD out and hook up to another machine.... it is blank o.O is it a bad batch of hdd's (i tried about 3) or is the laptop itself going crazy or am i going crazy lol?
  16. im pretty clueless but the only thing i could think is you could roll back your system to a previous date that is known to work in system restore? sorta sounds like your actual onboard sound went bad but idk...
  17. well ( sorry if this is an aggravating question) but is your video driver installed properly? Start>Run>devmgmt.msc> look for yellow "?'s" or under Display Drivers If not try adding this to your registry, you can use command prompt to do it just type this in. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main] "SmoothScroll"=dword:00000001 copy/paste that into a text document and save as .reg then run. Hope that helped
  18. well.. if someone got your product key through illegal activities i wouldnt think it would be as simple as through your ip or whatnot. even though if someone has had your ip, they would have to get into your computer via port scanning, trojans etc. because if im not mistaken your product key is located in your registry. and to view that you would need to upload someones SAM (which is totally possible through a trojan) or have access to viewing it. reverse connection trojans is probally how someone had got it ( if that is what had happened) working at a computer center, i have from time to time seen keys that after the first format, wouldnt activate :-( but normally calling activation center will help. lol honestly its about talking to the right person, if you get them and explain your situation, if your lucky they will give you another key :-D . its happened to me just aggravating calling them over again to get to that right person :-/ Hope you have good luck with your situation!
  19. I have an IBM ThinkPad 600 that once i load it with an OS works fine, then after restarting the computer after i have installed all my desired applications and what not, it returns in the bios on boot asking to insert a boot disk or floppy disk, like the HDD is blank or it cant detect anything on it to boot from. 1. Tried switching out ram and hard drive with known working hard drives and ram+-. 2. Tried several reloads and does same thing over and over again. 3. Was going to update bios but does not have floppy (mabe by cd but never tried it like that?) Basically been a pain for a few days now, any input on the situation would be awsome!! Thanks
  20. Long story short.... I forgot and left the controller on overnite and it went into auto sleep mode. When trying to turn it back on the next morning it wouldnt power on. I have... 1. Changed batteries to new ones several times. 2. Left the batteries out for a while then tried with new ones. 3. Turned off the PS3 (which probally didnt have anything to do with it not powering on) and restarted it. 4. Hit the restart button on the guitar. 5. Repeated several differant steps above in differant orders. I think it might just be a faulty hardware issue within the guitar itself. Best bet is to mabe just RMA it back to EA?
  21. well there is a couple reasons i dont have it set up with a file hosting site but... filezilla will allow you to let people download files from your computer?
  22. Well what i would like to do is host a file from a XP machine so i can give someone a link to download it. Is this a simple thing? Also is there a way save the info of who downloaded what like ip etc?
