  1. my i386 folder is only 400mb (sp1a) and thats with every critical update in I386/SvcPack
  2. your revo drivers have long path name (more than 8 chars) but i don't think that would matter anyway i've slipstreamed the nforce unified drivers into my cd and it works good Drivers\nForce\AudioDrv;Drivers\nForce\AudioUtl;Drivers\nForce\Ethernet;Drivers\nForce\GART;Drivers\nForce\MemCtl;Drivers\nForce\SMBus i hope it doesn't look like that in your file i hope you chopped it off to fit it a bit better
  3. no replies must be the confusing java script giving everyone the willies... try asking whimsy (WPI creator)
  4. regsnap works heaps better... it culls the USERS reg entries and only gives you the correct ones to change... plus it can make the registry file for you
  5. i use only the command i previously stated, and it makes a second item in the boot list which is set to the default item (so I end up with 2 choices of what to boot, one with normal boot screen and one with my modified boot screen) oh, i also set the timeout to 1 on the next line of that CMD file (i didn't copy+paste that line) but that doesn't affect the list having 2 items
  6. [Data] AutoPartition=1 .... [Unattended] .... Repartition=Yes Filesystem=ConvertNTFS .... That will destroy all partitions and re-create using NTFS just be wary if you have multiple hard drives... sometimes windows can choose the wrong install drive
  7. I did it with my "reduce source" multi-boot dvd... have a few I386's on the CD all renamed
  8. try using a registry monitoring program (regshot/regsnap etc) i'd recommend regsnap set everything to default, take a snap, make your changes, take another snap... it will give you a registry file
  9. changing the PID is technically against copyright, as it converts a cheaper (usually) or OEM specific upgrade product to a full/corporate/full-oem version which would normally cost more etc etc... if it were for your own machines and you had to hassles about it, then do it if it's a customers computers, then... maybe you could use your own personal copy of xp, change the pid so that it will accept an upgrade cd key... that way you could use your full installer version and still retain the customers legit key (and thus activation)... i dunno if that will work?
  10. I'm fairly positive it can't be done.. I had the same problem a few weeks ago on a mates, so I had to re-burn the disk and change the winnt.sif to manual partition selection Did you search the forums? Someone might have figured out a way to do it I dunno
  11. [Data] AutoPartition=0 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" [Unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended OemSkipEula=Yes OemPreinstall=Yes TargetPath=\WINDOWS Repartition=No UnattendSwitch="yes" WaitForReboot="No" That will stop at the choose partition screen... you can delete the partition and then re-create it (it will ask you to format it) or you can choose an existing partition and it won't format it... If you set Repartition=ConvertNTFS it will convert the drive to NTFS if it isn't already (when you choose an existing partition)
  12. This is how I do it: bootcfg /RAW /A /Kernel=kernel1.exe /ID 1 I don't do the copy section that you are doing... That works good, I believe it even keeps the /fastdetect feature
  13. I couldn't remember the file name, but I just did a search on these forums and found out setupp.ini you need to modify the Pid=55274270 part of the file (second line usually)
  14. You can't do an unattended upgrade... and you can modify your installation to accept a normal or an oem cd key on an upgrade disk by modifying the *insert file name here* file I can't remember what it's called hahahhaha oh my god it's late!
  15. AutoPartition=1 Windows will search for the first hard drive (or partition) that has sufficient free space (or chooses the one with the most free space) best bet, do what everyone else does: Set AutoPartition=0 and manually choose the partition you want
  16. You can never do a repair or Recovery with this set to YES.... but, if you set it to NO, it won't use your winnt.sif file or copy any $OEM$ files
  17. I tested SP2 RC1 by integrating it into a copy of my SP1a fully unattended disk, and it worked ok, I didn't notice any side effects... the unattneded install still worked too
  18. If you have UnattendSwitch=Yes you can never run a repair (can't do an upgrade either I don't think)
  19. the 3 files you listed, what happens if you put them in $OEM$\$1\DRIVERS\K7CPU and add that path (Drivers\K7CPU) to your OEMPnPDriversPath in winnt.sif ? I know for the NVidia and Realtek drivers the above method works (just extract the EXE installer they provide from their web site)... that method works for most hardware, the only one I know about that doesn't work 100% is the ATI Display Driver
  20. bumping this back to the to of the list.... really annoying me (annoying me the most because I did it within windows and it created the user account and it worked)
  21. My Computer "{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}"=dword:00000000 Network Neighbourhood "{208D2C60-3AEA-1069-A2D7-08002B30309D}"=dword:00000000 My Documents "{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}"=dword:00000000 Internet Explorer "{871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}"=dword:00000000 Set to dword:00000000 enables the icon to be displayed... Set to dword:00000001 disables the icon to be displayed...
  22. so it didn't add the USERS reg settings? what is the name of the program you are using?
  23. just download some pre-modified winntbbu.dll files (here) and see how they have done it or just use someone elses altogether
  24. isn't this just like the AdAware program, SpyBot S&D, etc etc? then why not just include a silent install of AdAware for example? Much easier to install silently
  25. never even heard of it before.... sounds neat though i like the idea of having it able to update the bios.... i wonder how easy it would be to configure the whole thing, seeing how each computer is going to have a different bios etc (usually).... or perhaps you make profiles for each computer? as long as it's easy to use it sounds neat but how much does it cost?
