  1. i've never seen such a percentage program... how would it work anyway? it would have to know how long a particular piece of code (or app install) is going to take to give an accurate percentage read out... but this speed will depend on how fast the computer is, what mode you are running your batch file in (cmdlines.txt is a bit slower than through windows) etc etc etc... if it's possible i'm sure a quick google search will give results... and if you do find one let us know
  2. i dunno about your particular case... but in general, $OEM$ won't copy if OEMPreinstall=No is set... it has to be set to yes... and usually UnattendSwitch=yes has to be set as well for all else to go as planned... if you check the application switches forum, there is a special winamp 5.03a silent install MSI package that someone made... allows full customisation of winamp install procedure and works perfectly in silent mode i use it so i can vouch for it
  3. ;Removes Sign up with Passport Wizard when trying to sign in MSN Messenger [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Passport] "RegistrationCompleted"=dword:00000001 THat should get rid of the Passport wizard.. or... use nLite to reduce the size of your XP source as you can select to have MSN removed altogether
  4. how'd you go with the VIA sata raid drivers Old-Man? still having problems with your application install batch?
  5. for the sata drivers, just integrate them into the xp cd so that you don't have to press F6 and supply a driver floppy... what sata controller do you have? i can help you integrate them into your cd
  6. theres probably no need... msfn has a great multi-boot dvd guide... lots of people already enjoying installing apps off the cd... what does that line do? you havent used %key% anywhere i can see, so it is useless but... i guess theres lots of people who don't know how to do it properly... you should post your guide in the multi-boot dvd forum, as not a lot is specific to unattended installs (most of the good bits relate to multi-boot disks with more than one OS)
  7. gosh is correct... where is the variable getting set for %setupfiles% ? if you are running from dos, you might be in need of some winnt.sif customisation support too hehe... i have a winnt.sif creator batch file here
  8. we need to know a little about how you are actually installing icq and nortons... what does any of that have to do with 'read only'?
  9. what is viapdsk? i don't have that in mine to enable via sata raid to work... here's a quick instruction for via sata raid: 1) edit txtsetup.sif, copy this and paste it at the bottom of your file (but not after the EOF little box looking character) [SourceDisksFiles] viasraid.sys = 1,,,,,,4_,4,1,,,1,4 [HardwareIdsDatabase] PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3149 = "viasraid" [SCSI.load] viasraid = viasraid.sys,4 [SCSI] viasraid = "VIA Serial ATA RAID Controller" 2) MAKECAB viasraid.sys viasraid.sy_ copy the viasraid.sy_ file to your I386 folder 3) Copy the folder containing viasraid.sys off the floppy disk into $OEM$\$1\Drivers\Viasraid, it should have some other files too (same process as Silicon Image driver) 4) edit winnt.sif to have "Drivers\3112;Drivers\Viasraid" (assuming you have both 3112 and via raid drivers on the one disk) this works for me and I have tested with ABIT KV7 and ABIT KV8 series of mainboards
  10. anyway, ad-aware doesn't even need to be installed... i learnt that from winPE usage of it straight off a CD... you could create a self-extracting archive of your pre-configured ad-aware folder... just make the self extractor extract to %programfiles% and inside the archive is the Lavasoft folder... then you will have to copy a shortcut to the start menu or desktop and that is about it
  11. try xcopy "%systemdrive%\Temp\Tools\Ad-aware\lang\*.*" "%ProgramFiles%\Lavasoft\Ad-aware 6\Lang\" /i /v
  12. there is a 69 megabyte file in one of the sub-folders that isn't needed at all... it's called msde2ks3.exe or similar in the MSDE folder compress the rest to a self extracting archive and you should have saved a fair amount of space from those 2 things...
  13. i think this program you don't even have to install... try making a batch file that copies the files somewhere, then adds a shortcut to the start menu and the startup folders..
  14. just because you can't access the OEM microsoft site, doesn't mean you can't get a hold of the DirectX9 OPK file! I can't access the microsoft oem site and I have a copy Actually, MSFN host it! This is where I got it from... And now, I host it too! Grab it off me from HERE You don't need a single switch for this to silent install... just run it
  15. you can find out if it's enough yourself.. uninstall the program, then run your *.cmd file that has the silent install switches present.. if you don't see anything, don't have to press any buttons, and the program installs ok (check start menu or add/remove) then it works.. if not.. try again
  16. I found a DOS program which plays videos, sound files or image files... it has heaps of options and detects windows sound compatible sound cards by default.. it even plays divx etc! Something like this could be used from DetachedProgram to give you something to do while windows setup is running... maybe watch a movie or listen to a cd or something QuickView
  17. post that again in the office shrink beta thread.. .someone might read it who can actually do something about changing office shrink to support international language versions based on the number of international flags i see next to user names, there must be a need for it
  18. some programs will require that windows has been booted before they install... but 99.99999% of apps will install ok through cmdlines.txt why not set [GuiRunOnce] %systemdrive%\install\apps.cmd and make apps.cmd the one that installs all your apps? this way you are positive it will work because windows has already booted or even better, upgrade to GuiRunOnceEx program install..... or use XPlode!
  19. I can help you with the SATA Drivers.... I am guessing you have no floppy drive in the machine that is using the NF7-S mainboard? that mobo uses the silicon image 3112r sata raid drivers... you should have got a floppy disk with your mainboard called ABIT RAID Driver Disk v1.21 or similar.... on the floppy disk, locate the folder that contains the INF files for your controller (should be in a folder named silicon\3112)... copy all the files from this folder to your "$OEM$\$1\Drivers\3112" directory and edit your winnt.sif so your OEMPnPDriversPath has an entry "Drivers\3112" Now, in I386, find the txtsetup.sif and open it up, at the bottom of the file (be careful not to go past the EOF character which looks like a little square box) paste in the following: [sourceDisksFiles]si3112r.sys = 1,,,,,,4_,4,1,,,1,4 [HardwareIdsDatabase]PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_61121095 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_611215D9 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_34228086 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_B0031458 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_A0111019 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_A0121019 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_A0131019 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_A0141019 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_A0151019 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_1014147B = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_100B147B = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_1402147B = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_1404147B = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_1802147B = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_1804147B = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_1C00147B = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_5930107D = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_249510F1 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_809D1043 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_0270A0A0 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_044DA0A0 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_044CA0A0 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_92011905 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_92151905 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_904C1905 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_904B1905 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_A41810FD = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_A41910FD = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_A71910FD = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_90171695 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_C2001297 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_C2011297 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3112&SUBSYS_15D40035 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_65121095 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_B0031458 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_1014147B = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_1021147B = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_100B147B = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_1C06147B = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_1C00147B = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_1C03147B = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_1C04147B = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_1406147B = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_1407147B = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_90191695 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_C2021297 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_C2031297 = "Si3112r"PCI\VEN_1095&DEV_3512&SUBSYS_C2041297 = "Si3112r" [sCSI.load]si3112r = si3112r.sys,4 [sCSI]si3112r = "Silicon Image SiI 3112 SATARaid Controller"Now, the trickyish part... In your Drivers\3112 directory, there is a file si3112r.sys... open a command window (cmd) so you are in the same directory as si3112r.sys and you need to enter the command makecab si3112r.sysclose the command window and look in the Drivers\3112 folder.. you should have si3112r.sys and si3112r.sy_ Copy the si3112r.sy_ to your I386 directory... and that should add your sata drivers correctly... all done... leave the original si3112r.sys where it was... next problem? i hear you are having difficulty with your batch file to install applications... paste a copy of it here inside CODE tags
  20. where would it get the variable from anyway? are you using a dos section before you start installing windows? if you are, why not make a batch file that will generate the winnt.sif for you? example: @echo off set /p comp=Enter a computer name: type winnt_1.sif > winnt.sif echo ComputerName=%comp% >>winnt.sif type winnt_2.sif >>winnt.sif where winnt_1.sif and winnt_2.sif are chunks of the original winnt.sif file, before and after the line we are adding... you can do this for any of the variables in winnt.sif if you want... it will work just the same...
  21. I didn't think you could create an admin account without having a password set? Even if you could, wouldn't the first line have to be net user Buller "" /add ?? Maybe it won't change the account to administrative if there isn't a password set? I'd recommend using a password anyway... you will never have to type it in because of auto-logon, but anyone who accesses your computer remotely (internet or network etc..) will have to type it in.. much more secure this way... maybe that is why windows won't change the account to an admin account without a password set?
  22. i dont use classic logon via my unattend cd... i use the normal welcome screen... maybe not many people are doing it with the classic? the only reason it's black is because it's set to black as default desktop background color for your default user account... normally it would have a plain blue background (blue is the default background color i think)
  23. with repartition=no still in the winnt.sif, if you want to format a partition, simply delete the partition first and then recreate it... it will ask what filesystem to format it with
  24. and also, i just noticed... about 15 minutes now since the error came up saying only blah blah version can silent install... i checked my processes list and shrinkoffice.exe is still running! using over 70% cpu usage, and 6mb of ram should it still be running after all this time?
  25. there is a specific package which might suit you better, called the raid drivers package or similar, do a forum search for that... it adds a whole bunch or raid drivers into your disk automatically, including 4 different silicon image controllers (including SI3112a of course)
