R u guys running any type of Firewall?? Cause that has stopped the virus from comin in for us. We also run Symantec Corporate and it does the job every time. It detects all viruses since it updates every few days and if an email comes in to one of the workstations, the user gets a warning when he/she tries to open the contaminated email. Symantec automatically quaratines the virus and all the user has to do is delete the email. I don't think that u guys would have to do all that just to prevent viruses, but a few more pieces of software that will protect u guys will be better. A hefty firewall, and a hefty AV would be ok in my opinion.

Here at my job we use them almost exclusively and I use it personally as well. Anywhere u turn here in NY there is a computer store.. so don't worry bout not finding one (which I knw ur probably not worried).... Good luck!!!

Try starting the machine on safe mode. Hit F8 while the machine is starting up and select safe mode. Log in and reset the Administrator Password. Hope it works.

Make sure u know the admin password for the computer, and make sure that ur loggin in to the computer and not the domain.

How can I have my boss' laptop pick up any Wi-Fi connection? Right now he has his machine set to pick up his connection at home, but when he goes to Starbucks per say, it doesn't pick up their network. Can I just leave the connection properties blank so it picks up any network? Or do I have to do something else. He has an IBM T40 with a Centrino chip, and XP Pro. Thanx

I'm in love with XP so... I did some testing out of 2K and 98 Lite and a few others, and was not too happy. With XP everything is so much easier for me, so I will stay with it till something else comes out that really catches my eye.

And if there r programs you don't want on there, that u don't use just uninstall them or stop them fro running. DO a MSCONFIG and uncheck them.. that should free up some resources as well.

I don't think there r softwar4e specific forums... I have been here for quite a while and I have never seen them... But u can do a search and if there was a post with that spoecific search name it will come back to u with results. Maybe one of the Admin guys can help u better... but this is just what I do.

Probably cause it has a bug... try uninstalling SP2...
