  1. It's all there in the Unattended Guide.
  2. The only thing I can think of, is the media your burned your files on. Perhaps the drives of other people cannot read your brand or type of disc.

    Disabling firewall

Sounds like you removed something which you shouldn't have. That's why I don't advice using nLite to people who don't exactly know what they're doing, no offense.
  4. Simply download a bootdisk which supports various network cards (use Google) and burn a bootable CDR using this bootdisk image for the bootsector, or whatever it's called in Nero - Burning ROM
  5. I prefer the Start Menu in Windows Vista over the Start Menu in Windows XP because of the search functionality and the sorting order of files and folders. However, I prefer the easy of use of creating new folders in the Start Menu in Windows XP. Also, the recently used programs in Windows XP doesn't get cleared after a while like in Windows Vista. In other words, it's hard to choose between the two, but if I have to choose, based on the easy of use, I would go for the Start Menu in Windows XP. I wish they would fix the "flaws" which I mentioned above for the Start Menu in Windows Vista, which would make it the winner for me.
  6. If I understand you correctly you would like to add a shortcut to an application to the Accessories folder in your Start Menu? You can do so via a simple batch script for example during setup using Shortcut.exe for example, or you could add a command to an SFX-archive which creates the shortcut for you, et cetera.
  7. There are various ways. You could add an application shortcut to the Startup folder in your Start Menu automatically, or you could add a link to the application in your Registry under Run or RunOnce if you prefer.
  8. Install the Windows Home Server Connector on a clean, non-nLited machine and check it's service dependencies.
  9. Using nLite you should always start with a clean source, so you will need to use your original installation disc and not an already altered source.
  10. 3.5 includes .NET 2 as well? I'll have to check that out. Cheers Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 contains both version 3.0 SP1 and 2.0 SP1. It does not contain Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1.
  11. Ehm, where? Have you tried without adding any extra applications, only hotfixes and such?
  12. As I already wrote: "If you want to be on the safe side and choose to install all versions of Microsoft .NET Framework, you will need to install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 and Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5." In other words, version 1.1 SP1 replaces any previous 1.x version.
  13. In short: Make sure your drive is formatted with NTFS. Create user accounts and if required user groups and assign a password to those accounts. Give those accounts rights to the shared folder.
  14. DirectX 9 is included with Windows XP with Service Pack 2. The November redistributable is simply an update which certain games and programs require. Windows XP with Service Pack 2 does not include any version of Microsoft .NET Framework. It depends on the other applications which you install, which version of Microsoft .NET Framework you need. If you want to be on the safe side and choose to install all versions of Microsoft .NET Framework, you will need to install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 and Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5. This last mentioned version contains version 3.5, 3.0 SP1 and 2.0 SP1, but does not include Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1.
  15. I haven't succeeded in creating a package for this and neither has RogueSpear ;(
  16. This happens because the diskette is still in your disk drive. Remove it and it will go fine. Or better, don't use a diskette and instead include your WINNT.SIF on your CD-ROM. Please see the Unattended Guide before asking more questions.
  17. I would suggest that you first read the Unattended Guide.
  18. Yes, that is your problem. You most likely have your temporary folders on your C-drive. Either change your %TEMP% environment variable to point at another drive, clean up your C-drive, or repartition your drive to make your C-drive larger.
  19. You give too little information to be of service. Have you checked the IBM and Lenovo support web sites? What operating system are the machines running? Is it a default company image, an image supplied by Lenovo, or...? Do you have the latest BIOS firmware running on each machine? Et cetera.
  20. The host is your physical machine, it hosts your virtual machine. You state that you have 165 GB of free disk space available, your virtual machine reserves 50 GB, so you must indeed have sufficient free disk space. But you don't state how your hard disk is partitioned, so is there enough free disk space on the partition on which your temporary files and virtual hard disk resides? Delete all temporary files on your computer. Scan your hard disk for errors. Scan your system for virusses and spyware. Defragment your hard disk. Are you using the latest version of VirtualBox?
  21. It's not something to add to your unattended file. You simply import the REG-file at T13 for example. You can write a batch script to check for the existance of a D-drive. Have you read the whole Unattended Guide?
  22. Simply store the disc in a safe place, that's all you can do really.
