  1. I see my ClassicStartPanel without the Bitmap right after fresh XP-Install, Startmenu has height of 6 lines. After I rearrange Startmenu by SFX (adds 6 lines in height) the Bitmaps appears. That`s what I tested. But I checked on another PC - and seems, that you`re maybe right. I`ll check again, but got to sleep now. It`s 4:33 in the morning here in Germany, I`m getting too tired, sorry. Edit: On the other PC the vertikal line isn`t shown at all - it is not black.
  2. On Laptop go to "Map Network Drive", choose a Driveletter, then in that line under this don`t use "Search" - instead you type in manually like this: \\PCNameDesktop\Driveletter\Folder As example on my PCs: \\SERVER\E (whole partition is shared) I had problems with this month ago, I resolved it like that: \\IPAdress\Driveletter Example: \\192.168.2.3\E
  3. I just installed a remote connection Win7_x64 to XPSp3_x32 - as easy as usual, no problem. Works in my LAN - and (by using XAMPP on XP) even via Internet. Another goal for W7.
  4. You try to share files/folders vice-versa, right? First you add the shared folder/drive on Desktop as Networkdrive on Laptop. Second you add the shared folder/drive on Laptop as Networkdrive on Desktop. For me it`s the easiest way to access files/folders on the other PC. If you try like that, can you access to the files from both PC to the other PC? If not, what happens?
  5. Yes, this is (senseless) crosspost with this one: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=133227&hl= @admin: please delete this one @all: go to linked thread, don`t answer this one
  6. Have you tried to connect the shared folder as a Networkdrive?
  7. Try to delete "ei.cfg" in "sources". You should be able to install all versions after that.
  8. Welcome @ MSFN! Please have a look at MSFN-Guide, the Forum, or try Google: Repartition
  9. I save my XPCDs as ISO-Files and mount them for use - like this my sources are save against unwanted modifications.

    XP SP3

It should be offered to you by WindowsUpdate. The WindowsUpdate is even smaller than this whole thing: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...08-1e1555d4f3d4

    XP SP3

What do you want to do - Integration or Installation?
  12. 1.) You ONLY integrate SP3 to a fresh XPCD and build your ISO. You can use this ISO like a fresh source - it`s NOT a "Running-nLite-twice-against-the-same-source". 2.) You own a genuine XP-SP3-CD by Microsoft (delivered by MSSDN). In both cases there is no "ServicePack-Integration" in "Last Session.ini".
  13. Welcome @ MSFN! As I know, the problem only occurs when a lower SP-Level than SP3 is installed and then upgraded to SP3 by installation. When you use nLite, you`ve got the chance to integrate SP3, so a later installation of SP3 is not needed.
  14. If you`ve got already "$OEM$\cmdlines.txt" after nLite: [Commands] "rundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection nLite.inf,U" then just copy your "runonceex.cmd" into that folder and add this line: [Commands] "rundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection nLite.inf,U" "runonceex.cmd"
  15. Sorry `bout that - but I proof you wrong. The missing of that vertikal "XP Professional" is caused by not enough height of the Startmenu. If you would add some other entries that the Startmenu would rise a little bit, "XP Professional" will appear again.
  16. To install programs to D: and have to repair every single one still makes no sense to me. Even to reimport registry entries is a hard way to go, still needs a lot of luck, seems "unclean" to me. A better idea for me is to create Silent-Setups of your programs and reinstall them with XP. A lot of settings can be set with regtweaks, and you`ve got a "real" fresh install. I never install anything to my other partitions - your problem is the reason, why.
  17. Ah, now I got the point - you`re booting from SATA-DVD, too. Well, that`s a problem I`m working on in my own forum as well. (german) Sorry, no conclusion right now.
  18. I do not really understand the problem. If you want to modify your source with nLite, it got to modify a lot of files. If you harden the files by setting them to read-only you might get unexpected errors. Why do you use nLite if you don`t want to let it change necessary files?
  19. 1. You still integrate all these unintegratable Hotfixes... 2. You integrate Hotfixes in wrong order (IE7 after it`s hotfixes) 3. You still have these too long pathnames
  20. You will see the changes made by "winnt.sif" in your "boot.ini".
  21. So how WE should know what hardware you`re using? With information about CPU, Graphiccard and WLAN we can`t know anything about Chipset and Controlers.
