  1. They are a little on the dark side for me (except #5) but I appreciate the graphic artform.

  3. Weren't you just in England?Gamehead is our own MSFN Intrepid Explorer. Make some video so we can see.Hope you have a ball man.
  4. New Egg has them for $160. Also, thanks for the tip filer.I might try it out on my Abit KG7 board because it will be awhile before I can finnish my new sys.At 1024x768 the Radeon 9700 gets the nod over the FX Nvidia cards, but the FX edges the 9700 on the uncommon 1280x768 setting and higher.
  5. Nice office Amp. I think a cebit is a debit that only owes $100.
  6. I found one and ordered it,but since the specs say I need a 350w power supply with the cable attachement I am also piecemealing a new system to use this card(got some tax money).Buying the Radeon 9500 red pbc,Raid Extreme mid tower case from color cases,Asus A7N8X Del mobo, and Raidmax 400w power supply. Not sure but at least a 1.8GHz processor is required for the best results although it will run with a lesser one.For $160 the 9500 is a steal compared to $351 for the 9700.
  7. If you don't want to take the chance on flashing your bios(which can produce undesireable results, just ask Experties ),then maybe you can exchange your Aopen for another board with an updated bios. You've done a great job troubleshooting the problem dr15,you can always recover from a flash failure if you make an error or something else happens.I used to sweat and get nervous while flashing bios's,but today's mobos even have utilities to flash from windows like many of the video card and firmware flash programs.Just read the instructions carefully and as many times as you need to and have a hard copy handy for reference.
  8. I agree with MSNwar about everything especially removing your network card while trying to install windows. Also, did you try removing the jumper altogether on your dvd rom instead of setting it to master?
  9. I,m using Blubster and it's working fine.Downloaded Piolet and that's working fine,as a matter of fact it's quicker over my satellite. The only thing about either of them I don't like is that they take about 5 to 10 minutes to connect.

    Ooowww!

    Smooth move Exlax.
  14. I like thermaltakes cooling idea better than water or heatpiping solutions. This might be the wave of cooling alternatives. The only thing I see as an improvement is a power supply power source instead of the higher voltage plug in the wall type.Be nice to have a quiet rig.
  15. This is a good source for flash failure replacement bios chips which you can install yourself.Hope you get it running ok. BiosWorld
  16. BTW, happy birthday Tinker and many more.Nice mobo too, which cpu will you use?

  19. I have done something similar yash.I have 2 HD's.10gb with win 2000 pro and the other 20gb with redhat 8 and mandrake 9.The 20gb was installed as a blank primary master and the 10gb was connected (with win 2000 already installed) as the primary slave.Redhat went on first because I was instructed that mandrake will recognize and multiboot better so by loading it last you can set it up to be the bootloading OS.Mandrake was installed second and set as bootloader and recognized w2k as a boot option even as the seperate drive that it is on.I was told that if you are not familiar with linux then don't put it on the same HD as windows xp or 2k.Partition magic 8 recognizes linux partitions but there again you will have the OS's on the same drive.Mandrake 9 is cheap and I can send you the detail instructions as a word doc if you like. You could pick up a small drive also for the 2 linux os's cheap. You would end up with 4 operating systems in one box.
  20. This has been going on since Moses sold Jesus a loaf of bread. What I was taught was "buyer beware at all costs",that at least gives you an edge against deceptive practices.

    Snow

I have someone plow my driveway, and all I have to do is brush off the cars(must have 4x4 here)do a little moving of the snow with my snowblower, shovel the walkways, take a nap, then I can take a nice drive on the snow covered roads.
  23. Just some info I dug up about Beowulf clusters. If your a Linux administrator you could probably put a supercomputer together using Beowulf. It is interesting that they use Raid mirroring throughout these systems and Intel Xeon and AMD MP processors as well.A raid array on my home computer is as close as I'll get.
